Parkside Rotisserie & Bar Ratings and Reviews
this is one of our favorite restaurants and have been coming to this location before it was even parkside; but parkside food is really great. we walked in and had to wait at the bar for our table which was fine, we were early. the bartender didn't acknowledge us for at least ten minutes. when I flagged down the bartender at the other end of the bar we were redirected to the bartender who wouldn't acknowledge us- even though we were in plain sight. not to mention that I bartended my way through college and could have handled 5 deep in the time she still didn't acknowledge us. anyway, we ended up walking out. very unfortunate.
My husband and I really enjoyed our Valentine's Dinner here! Great ambiance, food, service! I also eat here often for lunch since I work nearby, and always find everyone there to be friendly and professional and the food is just delicious! A big thank you to Steve and his staff!
The food is always good and consistent. The bread was very good for a change. I learned they ran out of the regular bread, which tastes like stale diner fare. My only complaint related to the noise level. If you sit in the back area, be prepared to yell and say "I'm sorry, what did you say?" a lot! It is SOOOO loud back there, especially if there are any big parties. It's anything but relaxing. They desperately need to install some noise absorption materials on the ceiling or walls.
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on Saturday and everything was absolutely amazing. From the drinks, to the appetizers and main entrees, Parkside did not disappoint. I haven’t been here in years and I’m so happy I finally gave it another try. The head chef, Robbie, really knows what he’s doing- the food was outstanding. My boyfriend said it’s the best meal he’s ever had. We will definitely be back!
The restaurant was very noisy. We ordered the dumplings to split as an app. They were fried and very hard to cut into. The filling just fell right out. We both ordered specials and they were ok but disappointed by them overall. We also waited nearly an hour in between our app and entrees. Others around us who sat down after were getting served before us. We also had to ask for bread after we saw everyone else was getting bread.
Wow, what a great meals we had last weekend! Went for Restaurant Week. Service was very good and they have a wonderful bar with many different cocktails. It's one of our favorites and proof is that it has existed for years and is aways busy. Just go and give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
This was an experience that really spanned the spectrum. The food was fantastic, but the establishment obviously had difficulty with the crowds this particular night due to restaurant week.
Had a reservation for 2 at 7pm and was told to grab a seat the bar by the hostess until our table became available. 7:15pm rolls around, then 7:30. See several groups come in after us and get seated before us. Overheard a conversation between the manager/host and hostess, where the former instructed the latter to seat a 7:30 party of 2 before us. We were finally seated a little before 8pm.
It then took another 10-15 minutes a server to come to our table. Our server was great, despite the fact she obviously had just been told to come cover our table. She was attentive and ave good recommendations. From there, the experience was quite good.
I was a bit suprised that they were comfortable charging full price after having a reservation and being made to wait to get seated and served. A "Hey. Sorry for the inconvenience. Here's an app (or dessert or a glass of wine) on us" would have cured all ills.
I would say not their best night. I went on Open Table to make a reservation at Parkside for a special event dinner with my wife and was pleased I had many choices of time - 7:00, 7:15, 7:30 or 7:45. I chose 7:15 and we arrived five minutes early. The gentleman at the front told us it would be just a few minutes for our table and suggested we take a seat at the bar. After waiting 30 minutes I went back and asked if we were close. He clearly had forgotten us, as we inquired if we were a table for four. I corrected him and he said it would just be another minute. Thirty more minutes went by and now, when he had to walk other diners past us while we were seated at the bar he almost comically worked to not make eye contact. Table after table turned over, but not for us. So at about 8:15 we asked the bartender if we could eat at the bar, which we did and it was fine. But, seriously, what's up with this? Either they took way, way too many reservations than they could handle or he wasn't taking customer service too seriously. Either way, it was not the evening we were looking for.
We went for lunch during Providence Restaurant Weeks on Friday 1/19/18, and it was very nice. Our appetizer was "pork wings" - a sort of pork drumstick with sweet/sour sauce which was very tender and very good. I had the lobster tortelloni, which were very nice; Partner had the chicken pot pie crepe, which he said was excellent and very inventive - a rethinking of a classic comfort food with a gourmet twist. We both had the beignet Foster for dessert, which was delicious. Service was excellent. I hadn't been here for some years, but I will definitely go back soon.
We went for the first time on New Years eve. We were a party of 6 and though we had an 8:15 reservation they were absolutely packed. It did take us quite a while to be seated but the entire staff couldn't have been any more apologetic. We completely understood that because of the freezing cold temperatures and the fact that it was New Years Eve, nobody was getting up from their tables. That being said the food was incredibly delicious from the appetizers to the main course... EVERYTHING was a big hit. We all cant wait to go back on a regular night. Totally worth the drive from Massachusetts
