Too few servers....was busy....felt service was not good and food prep not as good as usual....kitchen must have been ovderloaded
Service and Chief were excellent
Except for my wife knocking her water glass in my lap (which she blamed on the large menu), it was a great dinner before the theater. The burger with the lobster and hollandaise sauce was a ridiculous value, and very good! Will be back!
Our group of 7 all really enjoyed their meals. One couple was able to split a meal and they were happy to do it, even portioning out the servings. We ordered a variety of dishes and all were very happy with them. The wait staff was terrific, splitting the bill for us and also making sure we got out in time for our theater engagement. Portions very large, with artful presentations. We ordered flat steak with chimmichurri sauce which was delicious , perfectly cooked and well flavored.
Our waiter, Matt, made us comfortable right away. Very knowledgeable about the food, preparation and his service was great. We greatly appreciated the attentiveness of the management staff as well. They all made us feel like family. We will definitely become regular customers and intend to bring our family for dining as well.
Fantastic meal. Attention to every detail. I go back time after time and the experience is always super.
Food always good along with service!
We had a wonderful time, the food was delicious!!
The Parkside never disappoints...always consistently good!!
From the moment I arrived and had the Valet service, to the wonderful recommendations made by Jillian for our meals, we left feeling delightfully satiated and happy to walk over to our evening show.
We are becoming regulars. A little expensive for everyday dining but great for all kinds of occasions
Our extended family dined at The Parkside on Friday 2 March. Although a lashing storm raged outside the evening in The Parkside was warm and pleasant. Service was attentive and not intrusive. Our waitress was friendly and professional. The ambiance was comfortable. The food was good, but as this was our second time at The Parkside we expected that. The evening did not end very well though as two of the cars belonging to members of our party had been broken into while we dined -- these were the two cars that dropped off members of our party and whose drivers had both turned down the offer of Valet parking --one parked on S Main just across from the Court House and within view of The Parkside and the other on S Water Street. Seemed a strange coincidence. When we mentioned smash and grabs to the The Parkside Host, Xxxx, he said something along the lines similar thefts in cars happened on other evenings in the area. Providence he continued is a city what did you expect. Less than warm response. The Valet also confirmed similar incidents and blamed the "addicts" in the area of which he said there were a few. Sadly this incident spoiled the evening. So yes food was special, service professional and friendly, and ambiance inviting, but it appears, at least to this visitor to the city, perhaps not to be a safe area of Providence.
Our server was fantastic. Unobtrusive while being attentive. His suggestions were point on.
It’s a welcoming, neighborhood restaurant.
We will definitely return.
Fabulous as always!! Great food and service! YUMM!!
The food and service at Parkside is excellent and consistent! It can get busy at lunch so consider making a reservation.
this is one of our favorite restaurants and have been coming to this location before it was even parkside; but parkside food is really great. we walked in and had to wait at the bar for our table which was fine, we were early. the bartender didn't acknowledge us for at least ten minutes. when I flagged down the bartender at the other end of the bar we were redirected to the bartender who wouldn't acknowledge us- even though we were in plain sight. not to mention that I bartended my way through college and could have handled 5 deep in the time she still didn't acknowledge us. anyway, we ended up walking out. very unfortunate.
We had a great dining experience. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious.
Consistently excellent -- great combination of local seafood (Friday night oysters are an awesome appetizer!!) and great menu.
It was lovely. Bistro burger was great.
Parkside is a providence gem, been coming here for years and never had a bad meal. Came for Valentine’s Day and we had great service and my husband loved his meal whereas mine was good but I probably wouldn’t order again. I always ordered the short rib and was disappointed to see the only short rib on the menu was a Korean short rib with noodles which, although good, just wasn’t outstanding like the classic short rib dish with mashed potatoes and root veggies. Next time will order something else but will definitely be back!
really good, real real good. Liked it a lot. Would go back.
My husband and I really enjoyed our Valentine's Dinner here! Great ambiance, food, service! I also eat here often for lunch since I work nearby, and always find everyone there to be friendly and professional and the food is just delicious! A big thank you to Steve and his staff!
Filet special tonight was absolutely the best piece of meat I have ever eaten.
I always enjoy the food at the Parkside and the ambiance reminds of restaurants in NYC. One of my favorites in RI
Use to be a favorite, but we had not been in years. The service remained top shelf and the menu has expanded but they have kept our favorite dishes. Great experience. We will return.
It was a Friday night so the Parkside was crowded, too crowded. The tables are so closed together you can hardly move. The noise level is intolerable. Good food, OK service. Go there if you don't want to talk and if you want to feel cramped.
Phenomenal gem. Every time we dine there, we say, "Let's come back tomorrow!"
The food is always good and consistent. The bread was very good for a change. I learned they ran out of the regular bread, which tastes like stale diner fare. My only complaint related to the noise level. If you sit in the back area, be prepared to yell and say "I'm sorry, what did you say?" a lot! It is SOOOO loud back there, especially if there are any big parties. It's anything but relaxing. They desperately need to install some noise absorption materials on the ceiling or walls.
Food, atmosphere , service all excellent. Would definitely recommend it!
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on Saturday and everything was absolutely amazing. From the drinks, to the appetizers and main entrees, Parkside did not disappoint. I haven’t been here in years and I’m so happy I finally gave it another try. The head chef, Robbie, really knows what he’s doing- the food was outstanding. My boyfriend said it’s the best meal he’s ever had. We will definitely be back!
As always everything was great, well taken care of by staff, and food was delicious
The restaurant was very noisy. We ordered the dumplings to split as an app. They were fried and very hard to cut into. The filling just fell right out. We both ordered specials and they were ok but disappointed by them overall. We also waited nearly an hour in between our app and entrees. Others around us who sat down after were getting served before us. We also had to ask for bread after we saw everyone else was getting bread.
Really enjoyed it again. Nice on a quiet weeknight. Noise level low and lots of privacy. We will be back.
We went to the Parkside for a special business meal and were expertly attended to by several waiters. The restaurant serves very good food at a reasonable price with unobtrusive service.
Parkside is a favorite place for my wife and I to dine out in Providence. We like the valet parking and great service. Love the food.
Excellent food and service. Our waiter was not pushy at all and let us dine at our own pace.
Wonderful evening with excellent service and delicious food!
Wow, what a great meals we had last weekend! Went for Restaurant Week. Service was very good and they have a wonderful bar with many different cocktails. It's one of our favorites and proof is that it has existed for years and is aways busy. Just go and give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
This was an experience that really spanned the spectrum. The food was fantastic, but the establishment obviously had difficulty with the crowds this particular night due to restaurant week.
Had a reservation for 2 at 7pm and was told to grab a seat the bar by the hostess until our table became available. 7:15pm rolls around, then 7:30. See several groups come in after us and get seated before us. Overheard a conversation between the manager/host and hostess, where the former instructed the latter to seat a 7:30 party of 2 before us. We were finally seated a little before 8pm.
It then took another 10-15 minutes a server to come to our table. Our server was great, despite the fact she obviously had just been told to come cover our table. She was attentive and ave good recommendations. From there, the experience was quite good.
I was a bit suprised that they were comfortable charging full price after having a reservation and being made to wait to get seated and served. A "Hey. Sorry for the inconvenience. Here's an app (or dessert or a glass of wine) on us" would have cured all ills.
The food is always beautifully seasoned and prepared in subtly different ways.
