I like the small restaurant atmosphere but the past two ro three meals here have not been up to their previous standards. I had the swordfish special with scallops. The swordfish was overcooked thus dry and the scallops undercooked. The potatoes and sausage where tasteless.
The other two members of my party had the sirloin steak special and filet mignon which they said were both good.
Great food- always love the crab cakes. Fish was awesome and so is the chicken.... a Providence fave!
I love it at Parkside! Never disappoints!
Great service and the food was excellent! Highly recommend.
We came here before a show and brought new guests with us. They were as impressed as we first were and I know you have gained 2 new patrons!!
Staff didn't seem super friendly. Would be nice if they offered recommendations or asked if we had been there before. Interactions felt very mechanical.
Excellent food and service
Parkside has always been a fine restaurant. The quality of food is excellent. Many time however it becomes so crowded that it becomes unpleasant and not enjoyable. My wife and I were against a wall with a very small table. If a fire broke out, we would all be in trouble. You could hardly move in there.
We SO enjoyed our lunch with you. This was our first visit and we were a group of 10. Nothing could have been easier or nicer. Quiet area, excellent and very accommodating waiter, good service. We all enjoyed our dishes, fresh and nicely presented. However we all felt there could have been a bit more seasoning. Great location, great ambiance and decor. We all said we'd go back in a flash and we will see you again when we next visit the RISD Museum. Booking on line was also a breeze.
We enjoyed our visit. The food was well prepared and delicious, but it was piled in a heap on a dinner plate that was too small for the size of the serving. Too many French fries! Noise level in the back room was very high. Better in the main dining area and bar.
Our meal was fantastic. The chef was able to cater to our diet concerns. The manager and our waiter were so friendly and really catered to our special occasion.
Everything was great but for $30 a plate I’d expect less flies.
Great food and service, down side is cramped quarters. You are definitely not having a private conversation since the next table is a foot away, there is barely enough room to squeeze between to get out. Very loud and not good for kids.
Service and food very good. Would have preferred table in front part of restaurant, not near the cooking area.
Incredible service and incredible food . I definitely recommend trying out this restaurant. I really big on costumer service and this place nailed it. The was incredible .
Went to Parkside for Valentine’s Day. It was my wife’s and my first time there. Food was exceptional and priced reasonably. The only critique was with the service. While our waiter was attentive, sociable and cordial, he was too distracted with having to wait on his tables, take customer orders and provide us our check at the end of our evening. This was true for the other waiters working in our area. Other guests seemed similarly frustrated with the delay of the waiter. It may have been due to the volume of patrons, which speaks to the popularity of Parkside. I don’t want this to take away from the extraordinary evening that we had at Parkside. We will definitely go back and will recommend the same to others.
I absolutely love this little restaurant. My only disappointment (again) with it, is asking for Kettle One vodka for my cosmo and not being served Kettle One.
Food was fantastic and service outstanding
Great dining experience! Food and service was excellent! Would highly recommend this restaurant
I love the Park Side, but there was a new prep chef on the evening we visited. A few of our food items came out a bit subpar, but were quickly remedied by the manager on duty. They run out of table bread around 8:30-9:00pm on busy weekends. The bread is good, so we were a bit disappointed. We were offered free dessert for our trouble. The wait staff and management were very friendly and accommodating.
Cheryl our waitress was terrific. Food was amazing!
This is the best place we have been in a very long time! Service and food are excellent. Apple tart is best dessert anywhere!
Always a pleasure eating at Parkside.... Duck, scallops, pork loin and mac & cheese were all delicious!!! The specialty drinks were nothing special = don't bother!! Cherylanne was a great server!
***Word of advice for visiting in the winter months = don't sit under any of the windows!! Prior to asking for a new table, we actually had to wear our coats and scarfs because the draft was horrible!!
We had a wonderful meal. Our food was amazing. The mussel app was fantastic. The parkside salad was simple and tasty. The blackened cod entree and the pork mignon were both fantastic. Can’t wait to come back.
Always a lovely experience and interesting menu. Valet parking which is a must in downtown.
Food was outstanding, service was great. Warm and cozy on a winter night. The smell of the delicious food greets you as soon as you step inside!
Tried it for the first time after Parkside was recommended by 2 friends. Food was outstanding. I had scallops with sweet potato gnocchi and it was heavenly. Everything about it was great and I’d highly recommend.
We love Parkside - from the convenience of the parking valet service to the cozy atmosphere, good service, and always delicious food. We didn't realize it was Restaurant Week when we booked the reservation, so we experienced somewhat tighter quarters and more conversational background noise than usual, but nothing that interfered with our enjoyment of the occasion.
Good service and food. No kids menu, but they will accommodate your custom requests. We ordered pasta with a side of Italian sausage for our tween... ~$6.00, more than fair. Overall, food was well cooked and presented and tasted good, but the coziness that could have been was ruined by our freezing our butts off every time the front door was opened. Takeaway? Don't get stuck in front near the window.
The food was decent for most courses, but never more than that. The service (it was quite busy) was sporadic, and our sever didn't make much of an effort to connect with us. The prices were too high, even with Restaurant Week going on, to warrant our experience overall. We were disappointed.
Went on Friday night for the restaurant week menu. We ordered a pizza off of the regular menu to start and that was amazing but the restaurant menu was not. I only got 2 oysters instead of the 3 it said on the menu and the octopus entree was so salty it was inedible. Then the dessert came in plastic cups with whipped cream out of a can. The whole thing was pretty disappointing.
The meal was fantastic from first to last course, the salad was a complete meal in itself, very creative. I had the salmon which was cooked to perfection....and the desert, yummy👏
I’ve dined at Parkside for years. Although I now live in San Francisco, Parkside is still my go-to for great food, great atmosphere, and an overall fine experience when I come home to Providence. This visit was an extra special experience thanks to our wonderful waiter, Ricky!
I went to Parkside for Restaurant Weeks and will be going back. It was absolutely delicious food and wonderful service. A bit pricey for my day-to-day dining preference but would be very nice for a special occasion in the future.
Have been here many times over the years. This time, the food was okay, but not great. It used to be. In Providence, the culinary level is high.
It was restaurant week. Not busy when we got there, but we were rushed along by Nicole. We were celebrating and would have liked to take our time.
No offer of bottled water. Tap water served that clearly isn’t filtered and tasted particularly horrible. Though we did not get the wine, beer, cocktail menu, we tried to order drinks. I asked for a “citrusy” IPA. Was told none were, with no offer to check. I asked for the list. There were IPAs that were.
Drinks barely on table. Asked for time. Not 3 minutes later, there was waitress asking for order. We gave in.
I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, asking how it was from the slightly sullen and impersonable waitress. No help. It had cranberries and walnuts in it. All good sounding, but it was awful looking: discolored and mauve from cranberries smushed in. Tasted ok, but not attractive. Had to get up after no check on us for 10 min to get ketchup for tepid fries. Yikes.
My friends had restaurant week menu. They liked food ok. I noticed the blueberry parfait, served in a wine glass, had no liner plate. Not very nice looking, nor easy to rest spoon.
Waitress became cheerier when she dropped check. I hate that.
Not planning to return anytime soon
Great food and service
Amazing meal and excellent service!!
The Parkside continues to provide great food and tremendous service. Consistently one of the best values in Providence.
Honestly it was just OK. There’s a lot of choices in PVD and this wouldn’t be my first. It was good but doesn’t exceed expectations. Service was subpar even though the restaurant was empty on a Friday night. Drinks were way too strong. Food was good but was average.
