Parkside Grille Ratings and Reviews
Booked Valentine’s Day reservation via open-table and there was no indication it was fixed price. I have a gluten sensitivity and most of the menu I couldn’t eat and they only were able to modify a few dishes. Service was was appalling comparison to normal, our food kept being delivered to the table next to us and not once did they come by to top off wine. For dessert they were able to get me a gf cake which they normally have however my dates dessert had a raspberry which was moldy. I really hate to give bad reviews especially to a place I frequent for their gf pizza but considering we spent significantly more on the fix price meal that we didn’t know was happening, and got worse service, and food, it’s just disheartening.
We went for valentine’s day. They had a pre-fixe menu, which was an unwelcome surprise. The table next to us also wasn’t told in advance. We ended up switching to the bar for better food choices. Service was great. Food was yummy. Goat cheese is always sure to please. Just wish we could have ordered it at the table as planned.
Lucky to have this great restaurant in our own backyard - we are happy regulars - only criticism - they took my daughters very favoriter upside down cake off the menu - see it mentioned in many reviews and server said people have said they miss it too - bring it back!
There were 4 of us for dinner; as each of us finished our meal, one of your servers immediately removed the person's dishes, etc. So I was the last to finish, and felt that I must have been eating too slowly. Most of the restaurants that we enjoy always wait until EVERYBODY at the table has finished before removing the plates, etc. I think many of your patrons would appreciate if you make this change. I think that many of us would give you an additional star or your rating scale. Thanks very much.
The food here is usually very good, but this time I ordered my burger medium rare, and it came medium well, and the fries were only luke warm. Hopefully just an off night , because I really like the place.
They did comp me a desert after I mentioned the above.
We dined on xmas eve. We were sat next to the kitchen door stuck in a corner. I wonder if the reason was because we reserved over Open Table, thus we get the kitchen door table? Nonetheless, we do like the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Lively, warm, good clientele. Our waiter greeted us with "what do you want to drink?". Not happy holidays, hello, welcome, how are you, like he greeted the table next to us. They must have been regulars. An unfortunate start but we wrote it off as he was perhaps disgruntled that he was working the day before xmas. The table next to us was offered Prime Rib as a special. We were not. When I inquired as to the reason why we were not offered the special, our waiter indicated that when we sat down, there wasn't prime rib. When the table next to sat down 15 minutes later, there was. The table was set very simply with salt and pepper shakers, nothing festive considering it was xmas eve. We liked the varied menu with some creative choices. My date ordered a pasta dish that was tasty until the parmesan cheese was added, then the overall flavor was salt. My crab and avocado Cesar was very good with a generous amount of ingredients. We had to ask for fresh ground pepper for my salad and parmesan for the pasta. There was one gentlemen, perhaps the Manager or owner, that warmly greeted certain parties, although we were not on that inclusive list.
Had lunch here with 2 friends. One friend ordered the fried oyster sandwich and she enjoyed it very much. Apparently she typically orders it when dining here. I ordered the Chilli Releno, as did my other friend. It was covered in the most revolting looking gelatinous sauce that I had to scrape off. The Chilli Releno was stuffed with chicken cubes - rather than cheese. Very odd. The batter surrounding the Chilli was paper thin and slid off into the revolting sauce when I sliced into the chili.
My friend enjoyed her Chilli Releno - I did not enjoy mine at all.
We ordered the warm apple strudel with vanilla gelato for dessert. It tasted stale.
The last time that I ate at this restaurant, I enjoyed my meal. This time, I thought the food was awful and I will not return. The parking situation was dreadful and I had to park at the local library - about 1/4 mile away.
This restaurant was highly recommended to me by a friend and the next time I got together with a girlfriend I couldn't wait to try it. I was not one bit disappointed! Pleasant ambiance and wait staff, quick service yet we were never rushed. We enjoyed a delicious lunch over a leisurely hour and an half. I will definitely return and would like to take my husband here for dinner!
We really enjoy going to Parkside Grill for special meals with friends, both local and out of town. We enjoy the extensive menu and the Greek touch. I think we enjoy the starters and appetizers more than the entrees! But everything is interesting. Don’t go for the standard beef dishes - opt for the items that require the chef’s touch!
Returned here after more than one year, the food was delicious and the wines paired well. Started the evening out with the baked goat cheese. One of the advantages of this prep is that it can be made to taste several ways. If you like olives there are olives to add to the feta, if you like sundries tomato’s you can add those, there are also favs beans you can combine so this was a good appetizer. There was plenty of it so two could enjoy it.
Then we cHose to share the lamb chops, medium rare. Paired those with a Mendocino Malbec, delicious! Finally the flourless chocolate cake, again withMalbec, also a double espresso. Delightful!
A fitting return to a restaurant that has improved during my absence.
We went here for Halloween, and the food was OK, though we only had a few dishes. The service was very attentive. We had a good time at the Halloween party, and plan to return next year, and we hope they will have more parties. New Year’s Eve would be a good occasion.
After having enjoyed lunch here several times, I was excited to bring a group of friends for dinner. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The food overall was sub-par for the high price point. One dish was under-seasoned, another was poorly plated and looked very amateurish, while yet a third had an overly generous portion of gravy which detracted from its appeal. The fried avocado appetizer was terrible. Only the ahi tuna was deemed a winner. Very sorry to have had such a disappointing experience. :-( It is also quite loud at night which may not be appreciated by all guests. On a positive note, the staff were attentive and helpful, and they have a good wine list.
