Lovely experience dining, service, ambiance.
Food specials and menu well-described, prepared, and presented. Looking forward to returning soon again. Good value all around.
Beautiful location and worth the drive. Excellent place for clients, good service and food while quiet enough to have a conversation. Highly recommend it!
Oh the usual Tuesday Parkside goodness. Nice to see Jazmin and Nick and Hope again. The impossible burger without the bun was super!
Lovely setting for an intimate dinner with friends.
Wonderful as always. Good food, great choices and nice people!
Host told our friends that we hadn’t arrived yet even though we had signed in and were already seated — so they waited outside for 10 minutes until they happened to look for us. Server was inattentive and service was slow. Very noisy as well — not a good experience.
Ate outside under the redwoods. Some street noise but a nice setting. Alfredo, our server, was very nice and attentive. We had the White Prawns and risotto, Parkside Pizza and Asian Chicken salad bowl;all very good. Hot brownie with vanilla ice cream was very good..
Love the food and even got special treatment by the bartender. (She gave us a personal visit at our table to find out how to make a drink that I love). Special treat. Thanks so much
Parkside Grill is my go-to place when I want a little bit of an up-scale lunch where quiet conversation is possible. The service is friendly and unobtrusive, the daily specials always offer something a bit unusual, and the setting, either sitting outside in a small redwood grove or inside in comfortable booths, is comfortable with a touch of elegance.
Had a very nice date night meal. Sitting outside reminded us of European travel.
Nice place, generally good food. A little overpriced for what it is. Also, a $3 charge to split a salad (and we didn't ask for the split either), which seems petty.
The interior is nice. The staff is friendly. But ...
We came in at 6, were immediately seated, a waiter took our drink order and then took drink orders from an adjacent table of 12. He entered their 12 orders first into the restaurant's computer, served them first (even thought we arrived earlier), and a half hour later we were served our glasses of wine.
The restaurant needs to be more streamlined, in terms of service, especially since other wait staff were standing around doing nothing, just waiting for their tables to fill up.
I ordered a quesadilla, since I wasn't too hungry. It was a thick, floury quesadilla, filled with chicken and some kind of cheese that didn't really melt. Until I added the salsa and guacamole on top, it had been tasteless.
My husband had short ribs -- okay, pleasantly soft, but had no oomph. In other words, bland.
Not a real "go-to" place.
Great spot. We came with 3 generations - grandparents to 6-yo boys - and palates ranging from "meat warm, enough noise to not feel like we're sticking out, but not so much that the grandparents couldn't hear. Bravo!
Lovely, peaceful spot for lunch. Usually the service is good there, but this time was not. We had to ask four times for bread, the table was not ready, the waiter failed to double round to fill water glasses, etc. Not sure what was going on, but overall really good food and lovely atmosphere.
Meeting old friends.
The Parkside always serves great meals and cocktails. It was nice to see Jasmine & Hope again.
Food is best in Menlo Park/Portola Valley. Great service, great atmosphere, great experience EVERY time I visit.
Four people had 3 different dinners - fish special (sole), lamb chops and skirt steak - and 3 desserts - creme brulé, cinnamon apples in puff pastry, and Boston cream pie. Everything was excellent. Service was, too. We were there with out-of-town guests, so appreciated that we could hear each other talk. Can't comment on "value" as we were being treated, so didn't see the check.
Great food, fun atmosphere, good service. I go to Parkside Grille a lot and it is always a good experience. We had a large party on Saturday night when the restaurant was very full but we were looked after very well.
Always love Parkside Grille - the specials are usually interesting and delicious - and we love their 'regulars' too. Highly recommend!
Love the atmosphere. Really friendly wait staff. Food was outstanding.
We enjoy this neighborhood restaurant for good food, good service, friendly bar. It can be noisy so head outside (summer) for a quieter time. There is ample space for large parties or booths for smaller ones.
Food was outstanding but with a reservation they did not have a table ready so we waited about 15 minutes. The service was slow but very accommodating.
Such a lovely location. Perfect weather to sit outside. Our waiter, Andres, was also "perfect". Definitely recommend this place!
lively and good menu, good service. Fun place.
i would return again. but careful with large tables and people who might be slightly hard of hearing because at a table of 5, one end had trouble hearing the other end.
Very noisy, on a Tuesday night! Food is quite good, large portions, good service.
I think the Chef might have had an off night. I've eaten there numerous times and found my paella to be subpar with it's usual preparation. I will try a few more times to see if this is a consistence fall of in the food prepeartion.
Not as fantastic as usual. Kind of an off night there.
Loving the new menu with more vegan and veg options!
My Dad and I really enjoyed the food. We were seated in a quiet booth in the back, which was great for us to have a nice visit on Father's Day. Thank you Parkside Grille.
Has slipped over the years. Looking for tighter service and more creative food.
We come often to the Parkside Grille. The chicken salad seemed wet. It had a lovely bunch of noodles on it, but could have been fresher and crisper - it seemed mushy. I don't know if some of the veggies had been stored in the fridge, but it certainly didn't seem to have been assembled fresh for me.
My companions enjoyed gazpacho - that looked great - and mushroom burger - that came with great french fries as usual.
The bread was very fresh too.
There's better food elsewhere, but not nearby. And it's convenient to 280 for meeting others, well kinda. The service was outstanding on all levels, and the cocktails good, but this isn't really a destination place for foodies.
Always a neighborhood favorite!
Table outside for four was too small. And were are a lot of flies around.
We have been many, many times to Parkside and it never disappoints. Beautiful atmosphere, incredible food and great service.
Very quaint but nice restaurant in a small strip mall nestled among the redwoods. Food and drinks are expensive as you might expect of a restaurant of this caliber. What almost ruined it for us was the hidden fees they stuck in. For example, we ordered a salad to share. Instead, the split it onto two plates and then charged a $3 fee. I understand a lot of restaurants will charge a fee for splitting an order but they usually point out the extra charge. We neither asked for them to split the salad, nor did they mention the fee. Next, we ordered 2 cocktails at something like $14 each. When the bill came it had a $1 “up charge” for each drink. We did not order any special brands, just off the menu. When asked about what the charges were about the waiter said “it’s in the computer.” All in all, good food, ambience, and service but the fees they sneak in are annoying and completely unnecessary given the prices.
VERY DISAPPOINTING - It was my brother's birthday dinner. He was visiting from Orange County. He ordered the steak ($40) the meat was filled with veins; I was watching him "saw" through the meat, he had to cut off the entire side of the steak that was inedible. Then he started on the remainder however, next it was his birthday. I made the reservation on Open Table I told the hostess when we arrived it was his birthday; I then also told the manager it was his birthday...absolutely NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT it was his birthday. And lastly, the bus-girl gave us better service than our waiter. My brother had to get up to tell someone he needed butter for his baked potato.
My husband but I wouldn't recommend going at prime-time. Waiter was too busy, service was bad, food was bad...very disappointing. Won't go back!
Parkside Grille is a great choice for those who'd like to dine in the Redwoods without going far from the mid-peninsula towns. The ambiance is casual but warm and inviting, and the food is very good . Price is competitive with other restaurants in this class.
Gourmet menu in an inviting environment. Great service. Varied menu.
