Indulge your tastebuds at Parker's. Formerly known as The Williamsburg Inn, this casual dining restaurant serves up contemporary American cuisine and pasta in a relaxed space. The menu offers a little of something for everyone, with everything from tasty appetizers like crab balls and shrimp cocktails to juicy cuts of steak. It also features a tidy list of chicken, veal, seafood and pasta dishes. Stuff yourself with some oysters or make a meal of the veal parmigiana, topped with sauce and provolone cheese and served over pasta.
Parker's Restaurant makes a nice place to relax and socialize. The restaurant draws a regular crowd, many of whom come for the live music and daily happy hour specials. Families visiting with kids will find a special menu designed for children (kids also eat free on Wednesdays). Parker's also offers a nice wine list, carefully chosen to complement its meals.
My family had come to this place for years when I was younger - formally known as The Williamsburg Inn. 20 years later, and with an impressive menu, I chose to drive an hour to take my wife here for a special dinner. The food was average, at best. I got a filet mignon and she got the apple & bourbon glazed pork chop. The filet was charred (asked for medium well) and the pork chop was dry and overcooked. The best part of our meal was the cream of crab soup we had as appetizers. I hope this was just a bad evening for them.
The food came rather quickly and wasn't bad. The service on the other hand was terrible. The wait staff were rude and not very accommodating and constantly had to come back and ask what we ordered. They made it a very uncomfortable meal. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Dining room was essentially empty on a Friday night. Strong odor of fish hit us when we entered. No wine list (only carry one brand). "Caesar salad" consisted of mostly white lettuce ends and an overkill amount of dressing. Crab cakes were OK, best part of the evening was the Fried Green tomato appetizer. When asked what flavors of ice cream were available because of a so-so quoted dessert list, answer was "we only have vanilla".
Did get a good Appletini from the bar, and the waitress did the best she could with the paucity of choices. Service was fine, but wonder what it would be like if a few more tables were filled.
Overall would not return for dinner; maybe they do better with lunch or brunch.
Went for a "cabin fever" dinner with friends. Service was exceptional, food very tasty and abundant and the room with the fireplace was cozy! We'll be back!
We had reservations for 6pm. There were only 2 other tables occupied and a wake going on in the tented area. We loved our waitress she has been there awhile and we can't blame her for the inconsistencies of the kitchen. We have dined here several times since the new owners took over and unfortunately the quality of food and service has continued to go down... It is unfortunate because we have dined there atleast 3 other times with similar experinces.. I have to take the blame, I pushed to dine here again,to give them another chance!! So I apologize to my dinner guests.
We waited over one hour for our food. The Prime Rib came very overdone and cold as well as cold vegetables. The substitute crab cake dinners were very burnt on one side. For a $225 dinner this is not exceptable. This is a nice place but they need to rethink the food for this large party. A set menu would be better monitored.
This was our first visit since it became Parkers. Since it was New Year's Eve they had a special menu. The food was quite pricey but was good. We were in the dining room and there was one woman serving all the tables. Service was not on par with the prices. No tablecloths left me a little disappointed also.
Wonderful meal. Very attentive waitress. Nice decor and very comfortable.
Our experience began about 6:30 on xmas eve. It took about 20 minutes for our waiter to stop by and get our drink order. The hostess actually offered bread & water because she saw how long things were taking. A table of 2 seated about 7 pm & were served drinks & appetizer before we got our soup & salad ordered. Their waitress stopped by and apologized. Only 7 tables were full in our room and we felt like everyone noticed the lame service we were getting. Our waiter Eric seemed oblivious to the issue. We finally got food. The crab cake & imperial were good but the vegetables were average. Dessert was ok bu the chocolate cake seemed a little stale. I might go back but not in any hurry. It was my birthday and I really wasn't all that impressed. They weren't overly busy and the menu was small. I think it could have been handled much better.
They offered a special three-course menu for Christmas Eve. Food was fantastic. However, one of the three courses was dessert included in the price. They should offer an appetizer instead of a dessert because people who are diabetic can't enjoy they dessert portion which they paid for, and the salad was on the small side. But overall a very nice place with great food.
Parkers used to be Williamsburg Inn. Good location - easy parking. Highly recommend though if you want a quiet dinner - ask for the main dining room!!! They also have whats called "The TENT" area - semed fine but bands play - LOUD - so be prepared but if that is what you want - great.
Food was ok - appetizers had us worried - scallops were skimpy - ( just 3 per order) and we tasted no crab in the crab dip. Main course seemed to redeem. We had the surf and turf and it was good. Our teen got the chicken parm and it was a nice portion.
Overall ok - we would go back and forego the appetizers and get a salad or soup. Not for kids in my opinion - while we were comfy by the fireplace - the main dining room is not big and you can hear others at the next table - a crying kid will ruin everyone's meal for sure.
Also check your reservation ahead of time - while we were fine - Hostess mentioned they dont always get online reservations.
Food overall was pretty good. Everyone enjoyed their food. I ordered the 7oz(?) steak. It had pretty good flavor but was undercooked a bit too much. Rare instead of a medium rare. They threw the steak back on and really just ended up searing the steak instead of letting it take its time and cook. The steak ended up being a bit on the burnt end and not really cooked to medium rare. I'd rather wait a few more minutes and have my $30+ steak be cooked to properly.
We will be back most likely but I probably won't be ordering the steak .
The manager came over and checked on us a couple times before our meal which I thought was nice.
Went to see The Rebels play and had a blast. Food was really good and service was excellent.
I made reservations on line and was given a confirmation number. When we arrived we were told that we were in the computer but no table was held. The receptionist told us that it is a waste of time making reservations on line. She was right! A friend let us share their table. No waitress ever approached us, so we got our own drinks at the bar.
After reading the previous reviews we took a chance. So sorry we did. I really have nothing nice to say. Service was awful, food cold, business won't be there long.
Great place. We've been going there before it was called Parker's, when it was the Williamsburg Inn. Mr Parker did a great job with the remodel and the new chef's. My NY strip steak was kind of chewy and fatty. They took it off my bill. We will be back.
Iam along time diner of Parker's and Williamsburg Inn... The food has steadily gone down in quality
and they have gone thru a few "Chefs" (and I use the term lightly) in the last few months. We would usually start off with calamari as an app. Our waitress brought out these fried to a crisp rubbery small rings..they were not the usual lightly dusted and flash fried rings..they were horrible and much smaller than usual. A week earlier I order a filet migon "MED" needless to say I had to send it back not once but twice..everyone else at the table was done their meal. We keep going back because the wait staff are great and we live really close but we are hoping that Management/Owner take a long hard look at what makes customers come back GREAT FOOD and GREAT SERVICE
Will not return. The crab imperial was very dry. The prime rib was not prime rib. It was more like pot roast. We returned it twice and finally had it taken off of our bill. The manager questioned the kitchen about it and decided it was not a good quality of prime rib. The only good thing about the restaurant was our waitress. She agreed that the prime rib was not good and would not pay for it as prime rib and went to the manager. This restaurant is extremely pricey for what it is, an over glorified sports bar.
It’s not a bad place, but I had higher expectations. The service, the décor, the food were all average. The prime rib was tasty, but a little bit under cook, and surprisingly enough, they did not have Horseradish.
I had dinner with 6 friends on 3/29/15. Everyone ordered a different entree. Everyone liked their dinner.
We would definitely go back.
