Parker's Restaurant - Omni Parker House Ratings and Reviews
Great food and great service! I honestly didn't expect much because I felt the were only known for their Boston cream pie, but we got the crab cakes and that is probably the best crab cake I've ever had. It melts in your mouth! The lobster risotto was also amazing. I'm not a huge risotto person but I love lobster so I got this and I savored every bite! I dine out so much that I am rarely impressed now, but this dish was pretty impressive. And the Boston creme pie is a must. It's not overly sweet, it has a slight crunch to it, and is paired with whipped cream and strawberries. I would totally go back!
Enjoyed the clam chowder and Parker House Rolls. Service was excellent. Also enjoyed the lobster roll and Boston Cream Pie as a take out order. All staff members provided the excellent customer service with a warm smile and welcoming greeting. It was good to sit down and take a moment to relax and enjoy lunch in the dining room.
We chose this restaurant out of all others in the are due to it's history. The service was subpar (wrong entrees, wrong preparation..) and the food was average at best. I will say that the manager was nice and the dessert was very good. Considering all the other options, I suggest you go elsewhere.
This is a restaurant living off its past and better days. The dining room is very pretty, but the service was very slow and the food was ok. There are far more places in Boston for fine dining. The famous Boston Creme pie was even disappointing. It was vanilla cake with only a small amount of creme. I brought 14 business associates and I will not be coming back. I was disappointed as I had expected the Parker House of old.
Had the breakfast buffet. Oatmeal was cold. Coffee was barely lukewarm. Staff was inattentive. Dirty dishes were left on side tables, in plain view. Was at breakfast at 9:00 am and many chafing dishes were almost empty and not refilled once in 45 minutes. French toast was freshly made and good. It's all about the ambiance, nothing more
Overall a very pleasant experience. However, we found though the service at first to be attentive when we arrived, the service deteriorated as the evening went on. Some dishes were not prepared as requested which was a disappointment. A major plus is the restaurant is quiet and conversation at the table is easy. Would definitely return and hope for the best.
Wonderful meal and service. Francisco was our server and he was excellent!!! We had lobster and a filet. Perfection. Of course the signature rolls and Boston cream pie were outstanding as well. We are from Washington state and Kauai and so fun to say we had the authentic signature dishes and can verify they were worth all the hype. The atmosphere, meal and Francisco made our evening in Boston so enjoyable. What a treat for us!
Super disappointing. Food was bland. Even the famous Boston Cream pie was terrible. It was dry, not sweet, with skimpy bland custard filling. I've had better Boston Cream pie from a supermarket bakery! Also, I got maybe 3 ounces of lobster in my $40 lobster entree. Way overpriced. Slow service. Seating was cramped and we were jammed right next to other diners- no privacy. Would not return.
What a great dining experience - delicious food and excellent service. In our party of four - we all enjoyed our entrees of salmon, steak, and dinner Cesar salad. Oh ... the clam chowder was the best ever!
We were on 'vacation' and had just gotten off a tour so we were casually dressed. Other dining patrons were in business casual and on the dressier side. Next time after a tour we will return to our hotel room and wear more dressier clothing before dining here.
We will definitely return!
I've never complained about a restaurant before, but I've never had a meal ruined in this particular fashion before.
We went out for our anniversary, should have been a special occasion, but...
Short version: food came out cold, service was inattentive.
We got a couple of drinks, shared an appetizer (which we enjoyed), and waited for our entrees.
And waited. And waited. During this time it was not possible to get a server's attention. We were entertaining ourselves just fine, so we didn't notice for a while, but about an hour after we ordered, when I was just on the verge of getting up and trying to get someone to finally make eye contact, our meals arrives.
An hour of waiting, and our food came out cold. It had been waiting too. The fat content in my meat had started to set again into unattractive white globules.
It took several minutes more to even get anyone's attention, but eventually I flagged the host and he said right away that they'd "take care of it". I assumed that they were going to cook us fresh food and comp us for the entrees.
What they actually did was reheat the same plates of food, and then resauce the dishes to try to hide what they'd done. The doneness of the meat would have been ruined, but, more than anything, I was offended by the attempt to sneak that past us.
In fairness, when I did get the manager after that, she comped the entire meal, including our overpriced drinks, and offered us free drinks at the bar.
In fairness, I would explicitly dis-recommend Parker's Restaurant to anyone who even considers going there.
Chose to eat in the restaurant as special treat at end of trip to Boston to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Appallingly rude maitre d' - never experienced anything like it. The chicken we ordered was dry and whole meal was cold, the steak was tough and largely gristle and cold. After we complained the manager (?) apologised and offered to replace the meals, an offer we refused. In addition our bill was waived BUT this did not go anywhere near making up for the huge disappointment of an unhappy meal which was booked in advance from England to celebrate a special event and was our last night in Boston before travelling on to New York.
After living in the Boston area for nearly 35 years, this was the first time I've been to Parker's Restaurant. On the occasion of an out-of-town friend's visit, I took a chance and booked a table for us to have dinner together. With very little effort on my part, my friends thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were impressed by the historic background of the restaurant. The food was tasty and plenty enough. The Boston Cream Pie may be a bit of a surprise because it was not heavy and cloying like the ones sold in bakeries. Although the menu was a bit pricey, this restaurant is worth a visit for special occasions. We has an exceptional waitstaff taking care of us that night. We felt very at home because they were personable and cordial with us.
Classic restaurant in a classic hotel. Perfect atmosphere for pre-theater or romantic dinner. The menu covers all the bases with the nice touch of sourcing the entrees. The wine list is extensive and there is a first class bar. The food was perfectly prepared and the pacing on the courses allowed us to appreciate each one. Their signature rolls and desert did not disappoint! The finest feature of the restaurant is the service. The entire staff was welcoming and attentive without hovering. Our waiter was especially knowledgeable and always had a brilliant recommendation when there were choices to be made between several, equally desirable items. Well worth at least one visit while you're staying in Boston!
Great food! Husband got the steak it was delicious! I got the ravioli the mushroom sauce was very flavorful. For dessert we got the boston cream pie and chocolate cake. The Boston cream pie was good however the chocolate cake was amazing! Very beautiful ambiance great for special occasion.
We visited the OPH for our Anniversary. This was a lunch engagement. Immediately we were treated with excellent service and respect. The food was excellent. Our server was so friendly and accommodating. The Dining Room is rich and classy. We will be going back for another enjoyable evening soon. Thanks all for making our Anniversary so pleasurable.
Service was very good. Staff showed up quickly with water and bread. Waiter took drink orders first and returned quickly with our drinks. We then ordered our meal and food arrived in a reasonable time. My wife lobester was very good. I had the Osso Boco, which had a good flavor but the meat was dried out. I would not recommend the Osso Boco to a friend. I would have expected better from the restaurant. It was not worth the price. I've had better at lower end restaurants.
