“I have dinner 5 or 6 times a year in Parker’s. It is always a pleasure. A quiet, civilized environment with very courteous and experienced wait staff. Relaxing background music. A serious and comfortable place to have dinner with no gimmicks.” Daniel Greco, Salem, MA

COVID-19 meant that we were the only ones there, great service. Also they let people in that weren't wearing dress code.
It was just okay. The food was obviously previously cooked and re-heated. We had a party of five and went for the Restaurant Week $25 lunch deal. Each of us had something different and the food was just meh. The restaurant was almost empty. It probably doesn't do a lot of business and they don't prep food since they don't expect guests. The Parker Omni Hotel is an old hotel, which is very obvious from the decor and the very stale smell that permeates the premises. It must have been a hotel where smoking was very prevalent and they never updated the carpets or decor. Not pleasant environment to eat in. The chair I sat in had old food stuck down the sides. While the staff were friendly, the hotel and restaurant must not be keen for business. I would not recommend.
Wait team were very attentive, food was wonderful and decor was elegant.
Beautiful dinning room, excellent service, and great food.
Seated promptly by front of house and the waitress Lillian was kind, attentive and refilled water often. Light conversations can be heard in the background but wasn't overpowering. Food was prepared very well and portion sizes were good. The filet mignon was filling and the Boston cream pie duo didn't have an overpowering sugary taste. Would return for celebrations and other special occasions.
Restaurant week with my parents
Chowder, french onion soup & Boston Cream Pie were great. Lobster sandwich wasn't much to write home about. Ended up with an $80 bill (incl. tip) for 2 people for a restaurant week lunch date, so I'm not sure it's work the price.
Loved everything about it. The food was outstanding, probably the best we’ve ever had. The setting at table 40 was amazing. Thank you so much !!
Went their for our wedding anniversary and the food, history, and staff made it such a great experience. Delicious food and they served us a special cake for our anniversary. Loved this experience.
Very pleasant pretreated dinner. Classic Parker House rolls as good as ever. Wonderful service. And so gracious you can hear the conversation. How rare is that these days?
Excellent food - lovely buffet and excellent a la carte items, especially the hash! Service was attentive but never intrusive. We are regulars!
For such an iconic restaurant, the experience fell short of expectations. My wife an I dined there on Valentine's Day at 7pm. Making a reservation through Open Table was easy.
We started out with two appetizers: my wife had the Clam Chowder and I had the Lump Crab Cake. The Clam Chowder was average, could have used more seasoning and could have been a little thicker with a bit more clams and bacon. The Lump Crab Cake was OK too, nothing to write home about.
Surprisingly, the bar does not have ANY beers on tap...had to order a bottled beer.
The famous Parker House Rolls tasted no better than heat and serve rolls you can find in any supermarket.
For the entrees, my wife had the Schrod and I had the 12-ounce rib eye steak (medium). My wife thought the Schrod was ok, but could have been better seasoned.
My steak was a little overcooked and was not tender like a rib eye should be.
We split a Boston Creme Pie and honestly, was not that impressed by it. Nothing really wrong with it, just expecting a little more flavor.
Finally, we ordered coffee and it was brought out in a carafe. The coffee cooled down quite quickly, another disappointment.
The total for 2 appetizers, 2 drinks, 2 entrees, 1 dessert and 2 coffees came out to $158 dollars. For about $50 more we could have had a better dinner at Abe & Louie's (the best steak we've had in Boston, so far). For the price and the iconic nature of the restaurant, the experience was disappointing.
Our only complaint was that both of our entrees were overcooked.
The breakfast was delicious, and not overly expensive for a fine-dining restaurant. The inside of the hotel and restaurant is beautiful and the service was great!
We had an excellent time. Our server was really friendly and nice.
Great to see that this classic venue is still a wonderful place to drop in for a meal!
Has good quality fold with great service in a wonderful older hotel Restaurant.
I love this restaurant and come multiple times during the year. The ambience is old world with dark wood. The room is stunning. The noise level is low so that you may enjoy your conversation. The service is marvelous and without flaw. The food is ample in portion and perfect in presentation and has always been amazing in taste. It is a treat to dine here.
It was my Grandsons 13th Birthday, first suit, first fancy restaurant. He was incredibly happy. As we all were. Awesome experience.
It's a lovely historic space and we enjoyed that part of it. But I'm sorry to say that we didn't think much of the food. The French onion soup tasted off and more importantly, the bread that is such a vital part of French onion soup was disastrously hard--so old and stale, apparently, that even a long soaking in the broth (which did not taste homemade) was hard as a rock.
We had the fish and chips. The fish was quite tender and tasty. But the tartar sauce was sweet--as in, sugar added. Not good at all! The last thing on earth I would do with tartar sauce is to add sugar. It's supposed to be savory.
As for the chips: there were far too many--a virtual mountain of chips which was off-putting to look at and not very appealing because they kalcked any crispness.
The waiter, however, was very good and attentive. High marks to him.
The rich history of the Parker House is interesting and so enjoyable to see the architecture. Food and service was outstanding! Wonderful dining experience in fine Boston tradition!
It's the place to go when celebrating a special occasion or if you just want to treat yourself to a wonderful night out. Our server, Lillian, was outstanding.
Had a lovely lunch here - food was perfectly prepared and the service was excellent. And the dining room was peaceful. It was totally enjoyable to have a leisurely lunch in this beautiful room.
Family birthday gathering. Everyone found something they liked.
Very good service. Still the best schrod around !
Great staff, great food and great atmosphere the selection of breakfast food was awesome.
The main complaint is we made a 1pm Reservation venue was selected to practice etiquette.
The breakfast buffet we have been enjoying for years is suddenly shutdown during the week so now instead of an awesome selection we ended up paying $ 75 plus 10 tip for essentially bacon and eggs
Beautiful place with attentive service and a great atmosphere. If you have not been, you have to go at least once to try the famous Parker House rolls! It is a quiet place perfect for a business meeting or a romantic meal! AAA+++
Excellent service and the food was great. We hope to be back in the near future.
The waitress was very professional and the young lady who met us at the entrance of the restaurant gave us an excellent corner table and brought our coats to our table when our lunch was completed.
We were treated as royalty and it was very much appreciated since my husband was celebrating his upcoming retirement at the age of 70 years on March 2, 2020, God willing.
Pre-nutcracker breakfast. Was on a weekday, so it was very quiet, which was nice. Ambiance is beautiful. Service was outstanding. Mediocre breakfast, but the coffee was delicious.
The ambiance felt like we were in the movie shining . Food was ok but not for the cost . No container was offered for leftovers probably because the rooms have no mini fridge . The whole experience made us leave without staying our extra night .
We celebrated Christmas breakfast here. It was delicious and service was amazing!
Staff were lovely & cheerful considering it’s Christmas Day and they were working!
Lovely space-actually has charm to it, unlike most cookie cutter restaurants you find in hotels.
And the service is excellent -really feel like a valued guest.
After researching restaurants near the Boston Opera House, I settled on dinning at the Parker House for lunch before the afternoon showing of The Nutcracker on Christmas Eve.
Service was great. The hostess accommodated our last minute extra guest. The server was non-judgmental on the absurd amount of complimentary rolls our table consumed.
The parker rolls were delicious. Served warm with cold butter balls that melted on contact. The smell and flavor were nostalgic.
The food was mediocre. My husband, a New Englander, ordered the ‘chowda’. Although he prefers a nice creamy base as opposed to brothy, the chowder was way to thick; it was overwhelming. I ordered the crab cake, which was good; it is served with a salad with surprisingly delicious vinaigrette dressing. I would not recommend My husband’s main, lobster grill cheese, which was more of lobster on toast with a sprinkle of cheese; it was served with an overly salty house made pickle. My dish, the scallops, were completely over cooked; the menu stated it was served with couscous. I love small grain couscous, but unfortunate this dish was served with pearl couscous which I am not a fan of so I did not eat it. My brother-in-law ordered the club, which was huge. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law both ordered the salmon, served over jasmine rice, which they said was good.
We ended our meals with dessert. I have never really ordered or been into Boston Creme, but I tried my sister-in-law’s and it was good. My cheesecake, which was a thick NY style, was delicious.
Wonderful service, delicious food!
Delightful and charming venue for special occasions.
Food was generally well prepared however, most meals were Luke warm and potatoes were cold
It was so good!
Very comfortable and elegant experience. The service is excellent, unobtrusive. Best of all the food is superb, every mouthful delicious!
