“I have dinner 5 or 6 times a year in Parker’s. It is always a pleasure. A quiet, civilized environment with very courteous and experienced wait staff. Relaxing background music. A serious and comfortable place to have dinner with no gimmicks.” Daniel Greco, Salem, MA
It was so good!
Very comfortable and elegant experience. The service is excellent, unobtrusive. Best of all the food is superb, every mouthful delicious!
Parker's was perfect for our needs on a Saturday night--downtown location, a quiet table to talk with friends, reliably excellent food, an elegant but unpretentious setting, attentive yet unintrusive service, valet parking, no push to hurry our stay, and space available on two days' notice. We see these friends rarely, so $$$ was OK with both couples. Personally, I like the old-fashioned (uh, classic) hotel vibe, no need for trendy!
Bthis is a splendid restaurant with good food and pleasant service. No hesitation in recommending
We were residents of the hotel for a week and decided to visit on Sat night after Thanksgiving. We booked online through open table as we were unable to book direct with the hotel!! The reception did not take reservations and we could not get an answer from the restaurant- very strange!! The restaurant was very quiet on the Saturday we booked . The restaurant has a nice ambiance but we had a table we were given was quite remote and was at the end of a long soft couch which was quite uncomfortable. We had onion soup and a salad to start. The soup was OK (except the floating crouton which was rock hard). The salad was not to my taste with unusual leaves which were not good in terms of texture or taste. We followed with Duck which was cooked well and very tasty. It was covered with the same salad leaves and the polenta was not good. My fillet mignon was OK but not as good as I have had. Our server asked how the meal had gone and we responded that is was OK but not exceptional. He returned with a complimentary Boston pie dessert which was a nice gesture. Service overall was good but we would not rush back to eat here again.
Wonderful setting, delicious filet mignon, attentive service.
I had a really enjoyable experience here. It was beautiful, nice ambiance, and wonderful food. The wait staff was efficient and pleasant, and we felt like they catered everything to our time table, neither rushing us nor making us wait. I will definitely return! Thanks!!
I take my parents here regularly when I am visoting Boston, and rarely disappointed. The service, the food, everything-- it was exquisite.
Great old school Boston restaurant with finely prepared basic food and great service. The wine list, however, needs some work - not much range and not much above the level of table wine.
The serving staff were very courteous. The ambiance was like you were in the winter dining room of The Shining. All old fashioned but no glamor. The food was highly mediocre and expensive.
The only dining experience we had in Boston that was disappointing. Uninterested server did not offer any information on the menu (soup of day, chef’s specialty , etc.) Our coffees were not served, a very long wait for our courses. We were not in a rush , but compared to our other excellent meals in an incredible city, we will not return to Parker’s .
It was all excellent
Food was ordinary and overpriced. Horrible music. Service was good.
French onion soup smelled was warm not hot and smelled obnoxious that we had to send it back which I never do. Everything was very salty. Ribeye was very thin and just edible, halibut was dry and so was chocolate cake. Expected much more from a Omni property
My Girlfriend and I visited Parker’s Restaurant for our anniversary. It was an outstanding experience. They gave us the best seat in the house and our waiter, Francesco, was fantastic. He gave us some history on the Parker house and the restaurant, and was more than happy to take some pictures of us and provide us with the best service.
I ordered the filet mignon, which was incredible. I am tempted to say it is the best steak I’ve ever tasted in my life, cooked and seasoned perfectly. My girlfriend ordered the butter poached lobster with risotto which was also amazing.
After dinner, we were provided with a Boston cream pie on the house due to us dining for our anniversary. Overall it was an incredible experience and I have already told our friends and family to be sure to come to Boston just to have dinner at Parker’s. 5 stars across the board.
The room needs a facelift and there were fruit flies everywhere! That said, it’s was a delicious meal in an old historic hotel.
Our server, whose name is Lillian, was most pleasant and efficient.
Always a wonderful and pleasant experience. W went there for pre theater time and got the $48 price fix menu. usually this is very good and the clam chowder was a great as always. However, they were serving rib eye, and my piece was overly sauced and way to salty not to mention 50% fat. It was also only about 1/4 inch thick so price to value was not great. I prefer the sirloin they used to offer. The Boston Cream pie was delicious!
We had a perfect dinner at at Parker's. The drinks (Old Fashioned and Margarita) were spot on. The oysters we had for appetizers were delicious. The main courses (lobster for two of us and filet mignon for a third) were done to perfection. The Boston cream pie is different from what you get at most restaurants, but quite good (and, of course, truly authentic, as this is the restaurant where it was invented). And the ambiance is great. But what brought it all together was the excellent waiter. He was terrific. (I so wish I could recall his name. He spoke with a bit of an accent. Italian?) He made great food recommendations, was "friendly but not familiar", as they say, and even took time to give some history of the hotel and explain the paintings when we asked about them. I almost put 4 stars for value, because it's not cheap. But, you know what, it was worth every penny, so 5 stars across the board. Highly recommended for an elegant dinner in town, whether it's a date, a business client, or just some friends reuniting after a year apart, as we were.
I really appreciate the staff here they made for a wonderful experience. My husband and I were visiting from New York with our luggage, the hostess wished us a happy anniversary and stored our bags. Then the wait stuff were joyous, surprised us with a boston creme pie, and told us about the history of the hotel and restaurant! A wonderful memory for our first time here together.
Courteous and attentive service. Excellent food!
Both of the signature M
What an absolutely wonderful dining experience. Nothing short of perfection. Do not ever pass up the chance to eat at Parker's Restaurant - Omni Parker House. We traveled from California to have a meal here and it lived up to our high expectations. A lovely ambiance, wonderful food (in remarkably generous portions), and at surprisingly reasonable prices. And a basket full of free Parker house rolls! Could anything be better? We look forward to going back.
Beautiful room, good food and excellent service!
Our server, Lillian, was amazing and is the friendliest and best server we have ever experienced anywhere
Came for the Boston cream pie. Food was good but not memorable or fabulous, considering the price. Had high expectations, and we were slightly disappointed. Staff was very friendly and wine was good.
Traveling to tour schools with my daughter.
When in Boston, this is a favorite stop. Staff are top-notch, always have excellent recommendations, and the food never disappoints.
We ordered two filet mignons....which were comparable to a chain restaurant. Not quite what I expected from the restaurant JFK proposed at. However, the service was superb.
It was very good, but didn’t change my life. We loved the Price Fix menu for pre-theatre folks. A plus!
The Open Table description said a jacket was preferred, so we almost didn’t book. We checked with the concierge, who said jeans and a nice shirt were just fine. Everyone looked very nice in business casual and dressed up denim.
Would definitely recommend!
We were a party of 4 and we went because we wanted to try the Boston Cream Pie. They have a Pre-Theatre Menu for $48.00 per person so it seemed like a no-brainer to us. First, the room is very nice. It is an old time dark wood room. It was very beautiful. The bread and butter was delicious. The butter was at that perfect temperature where you can actually use it and not kill your bread.
I wanted a sweet drink because I like sweet drinks. My waitress was unable to tell me which drinks in the new drink menu were sweet. They had a graph and she didn't know how to use it. I ordered from the "Fruit" page and my banana drink was good, but not very sweet.
Two of us ordered the clam chowder and it was good. It was served hot which we like. It had chunks of potato and lots of clams. Next to the bread it was the best thing we ate. The other 2 had the Caesar Salad. They said it was nothing special.
For entrees 2 of us ordered the Ribeye. It was ok, but very fatty. The potatoes were undercooked and hard.
My friend said the Butternut Squash Ravioli was very good. My husband asked the waitress which entree was the best and she couldn't answer his question. He ended up ordering the Salmon and he said it had no flavor.
So for dessert we all ordered the Boston Cream Pie. It came nicely plated with chocolate and raspberry sauce. The sauce was delicious. The cake was not delicious. It was dry and there was very little cream. It's Boston Cream Pie, it should be loaded with cream.
This was a one and done for all four of us.
We knew the history of the Parker House so while we were visiting Boston we knew we needed to eat here. We were all very happy with this decision. I had the lobster grilled cheese, which was absolutely delicious, and the other 3 in our party had salads and were thrilled with them as well. The salads were large and very fresh, definitely a meal. We finished our lunch with, of course, Boston Cream Pie and it was the best dessert I ever had. When I visit Boston again, I will definitely come back to Parker House.
Ambiance was nice and service was great. Ribeye a bit overdone. Went there for wife’s birthday (mentioned it in the reservation) but it was never acknowledged. Otherwise, a pleasant experience.
My mom and I ate at Parker’s while on vacation on Boston and had the best time! Everything was first class. I had the Boston Schrod which was amazing and finished with the Boston Cream pie. The food was amazing, and the service was top notch. I’d definitely suggest you eat at this historic Boston landmark
Good chowder, amazing shred and boston cream pie, parker house rolls didn't amaze me but brown bread really good
I ate there twice this past week and the "Hostess" at lunch, when we did not have a reservation, but politely asked if we could be seated in a clearly empty dining room, and a "Host" at dinner, when we did have a longstanding reservation, were both cold and indifferent, to the point of being rude. But once we gained entrance, the wait staff was wonderful, the food very good and the ambiance very pleasant.
It was my wife's birthday dinner and, we were treated extremely well. I've always felt that the food can be great but, nothing can save the experience if the service isn't up to par. The food is very good and, the service was excellent.
One think I'll say that could be better is to have a dress code. This used to be a jacket and tie restaurant. The ambiance would be better if at least shorts, flip-flops and non-collard shirts were not allowed.
Old school charm and elegance is still around. The hotel and restaurant are absolutely beautiful. The food was exceptional as was the service thanks to our server, Francesco. We told him we weren't in a rush so we ended there for almost 3 hours exactly how a dinner in a place like this should be. He regaled us with hotel history and listed off past patrons of the Omni. He was truly a delight. We will definitely go back when we visit Boston again!!!
