Parkers' Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
We visited Parkers for my mother-in-law's birthday. We have visited the restaurant before, but it was for a private birthday function. This time we sat in the main dining area. We were seated right away, even though we were a bit early for our reservation. The hostess was very nice. The server took our drink order and was away for quite some time. He finally returned so that we could order our entrees. We places our order and the food was served within a nice timeframe, but again it was difficult to catch our server. He has the three tables next to us, but didn't seem to be there either. Service was a bit slow for a weeknight, but I'm not certain if there was something going on or he had more tables than we saw. The food was good and everyone seemed somewhat pleased. I had the short ribs which was very tender. The potatoes that came with them were just ok. Overall, a good ambiance and great for birthdays.
Great food! One of the best steaks I've ever had. Overall the food was amazing and the service was great. But the cocktails... We started at the bar, i ordered a rye Old Fashioned and it was the worst cocktail I've ever had; loaded with cube Ice spilling over the top, after muddling what appeared to be a huge wedge of orange he washed the muddler with soda water in the glass, poured the bourbon and then topped with more soda water. Switched to red wine after that. That being said, the experience was wonderful and the jazz music in the lounge was fantastic. I think the next time we're going to sit in the lounge to eat.
Parker's is first rate dining, service, entertainment and houses a staff that goes above and beyond to make your Parker's experience memorable. It's always our first choice for dining. The bar is also lovely with great food and musicians providing perfect ambiance.
On Christmas Eve Parker’s was very crowded when we arrived for our reservation, however we were seated at a table in the bar immediately. I originally requested a booth which was not available at the time, so they were cordial and told us to enjoy a drink and we could move when one became available.. which wasn’t too long. We had a very nice evening listening to the Hans Luchs Trio and dinner was great. Couldn’t do the cotton candy this time, but we’ll return soon as it has been consistently good in the several times we’ve visited.
I would definitely recommend Parker’s for a great evening out!
Went for Christmas eve. While extremely busy, the staff was terrific. The hostesses were well trained to handle this type of large crowd on a holiday evening. Our waiter was terrific. Food was very very good considering the amount of people they were feeding from 3p - 9p! Our second time here, would recommend - great steaks and seafood!
We have been coming to Parkers' since they first opened their doors and have never been disappointed in the food, service and atmosphere. We will continue to be regular patrons of this establishment and will always recommend it to friends as a great dining experience!
As usual, great service, awesome food, and they didn’t rush us. At all. My drink (rum and pineapple juice) was a bit pricey ($12) but the rest of the meal was spot on. We ordered the cookie assortment for dessert and it came on a bed of cotton candy! Who does that? It’s the little surprises that make Parker’s our girlfriend’s meeting place! Every time.
Neighborhood gem. Best shrimp cocktail hands down! Barkeep Ryan tends with care and offers a smooth paced service. His charm is an additonal plus;) Parkers is always a pleasant experience for a quick midweek "city vibe" especially when live tunes are flowing. A definite must do!
This was our first time at Parkers. We had mixed feelings. The wine list is outstanding. The prices on the list are fair. If you like great wines with your food, then you cannot go wrong. The ribeye steak was very good but priced just like it would be downtown and not as good as the premier steak houses in Chicago - so overpriced. I ordered the 1 1/2 pounds of the Red King Crab Legs and they were a huge disappointment. First, there is no chance that the serving I received (2 legs, one with a joint, and a separate joint) weighed 1.5 lbs. Second, no one wants to eat the joints so, in my opinion, I was given the dregs from the kitchen. Finally, the crab was not fresh in season as evidenced by the meat, which was very stringy and stuck to the shell. It was not tender and whole as it should have been. The only thing that stopped me from outright complaining was that our waiter was rock solid - and I did not care to embarrass him.
We are long time customers. First time that we were disappointed with the food. The quality of the beet salad was quite poor. My octopus seem to be smaller and less appealing, yet more expensive . And our favorite duck was not only more expensive but worse than ever. There was lots of fat and confit was actually a wing, not a thigh as was previously.
The greens were also low quality and too spicy.
It will take some time to recuperate from the disappointment and to visit Parker's again.
Always great food and service. My wife always gets the short ribs or filet, I usually get fish or the duck. Desserts are large enough to share. Coffee is also a great finish. Nice wine and beer selections, however we usually get a mixed drink. This is our go to place in the suburbs.
