No waiting for table. Hostess suggested location to dine where the noise level would quieter. Excellent food choices for lunch.
Service, drinks and food were all terrific. Great seafood menu but lots of other options are available. The main room(s) seemed a bit noisy but we were seated in a side room that only had about 8 tables so it was a bit more quiet (which I prefer).
Our party of four had a lovely dinner at Parker's on Saturday night after seeing a play at First Folio. My small plate mussels and my husband's short ribs dish both delighted. Our server Andrea was attentive and pleasant.
My only complaint is that I had specifically requested as quiet a table as possible, so I was thrilled when we were seated in a small private room in the back that had only 4 tables. Unfortunately, just 15 minutes into our dining experience, another party of five people were seated at an empty table in the same room. Their voices and laughs were extremely loud, such that we found that OUR party of four had to almost scream over our table to even be heard. I realize that the noise level of people who obviously have no idea they are being so disruptive is not really Parker's problem to control, but unfortunately it did affect our overall dining experience. The small private room also had a mirror on one entire side of the room, and such a hard service does not absorb sounds. I don't think I will likely return to Parker's on a busy weekend - just too loud for my taste, including in the main dining room and certainly in the bar area. A quieter weeknight , yes.
Great place with an amazing piano bar on Saturday night. It was so entertaining they actually allowed us to push our dinner back an hour to enjoy the music and drinks.
Everything from checking in to the bar staff to our waiter and meal was fantastic. Well done Parkers’
Dale was our server and he was excellent! We started with the Oysters Rockefeller and the lobster and shrimp fritters! Both were delicious! Our entrees were Crab Cakes, Lamb chops and the Filet. Every item was excellent! Dessert was excellent too! Thanks again, Dale! We will be back!
We ate in the lounge area, which I found more comfortable and less formal than the main restaurant. The oysters were a delicious selection of three varieties. The sancerre was excellent but obviously at restaurant price. The pork chop (which we both had) was as excellent as ever. For dessert we shared an excellent cheese board with some really interesting choices, accompanied by an excellent, almost prune-like port. Service was attentive and just the right side of friendly. The live piano music was unobtrusive and really added to the atmosphere. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary & once again Parker’s provided an excellent venue. As usual the calamari was exceptional, our salads were crisp & fresh & our main courses (filet mignonette & lamb chops) were perfectly cooked & tasted wonderful. I also have to give kudos to our waiter, Nick. He was wonderful - courteous, attentive & an excellent server.
The food was amazing. i had the superior whitefish and my customer had the filet. Outstanding. The Tiramisu Baked alaska was off the chain.
What a phenomenal hidden gem! Literally everything on the menu was outstanding. We tried the VPN pizza, and s fee appetizers and food was ridiculously good
Parker's is always wonderful... Our waiter was excellent. The food is always exceptional.
This evening was supposed to be my birthday dinner with my parents. I selected birthday in the open table reservation and made a special comment about wanting to sit where we could hear the piano. Neither of these bits of information were noticed by the Parkers staff. It took a good while for our server to attend to us, and then she was so distracted that she told us the specials twice. We seemed to be an after thought to our server as she had a larger party of 12 who was seated right behind us. This was not the special occasion I expected of this restaurant.
The food was very good.
Our server was either over loaded with tables or very inefficient.
When we arrived two different servers each wanted to take our order.
The one that was doing a bad job won the debate. The one that lost the debate was actually more helpful than our server.
I was very disappointed in the server we got.
Waitress was genuinely caring and sweet. She only forgot to put my dressing on the side. Otherwise perfect. Considering we had two small children it went well. Appreciate the kindness.
Wonderful little gem of a place set back off of Highland Ave. in Downers Grove. Everything is top shelf - wonderful staff and great food. A bit noisy on a Friday night - but all in all a great experience.
Excellent service, food is outstanding, always a pleasure dining there
Great food and service. My wife and I both had, and loved, the crabcake appetizer.
Long wait for a party of 2 reservation
As always, outstanding food with our fish prepared perfectly. Wonderful and friendly service from Dale. Plus one of the best musicians in the metro area in the lounge, Carmen Stokes.
Best place in town
11 year Anniversary
Great upscale ambiance and the food and service was excellent as well. Some creative appetizers including charred fish wontons, which were excellent!
Great time and great service
Great service, Doreen was fabulous!
Food is. Good but very over priced. Main seating area was fairly loud.
Parkers is wonderful. I went with a friend for lunch this past week. My husband and I have reservations coming up soon. The food is spectacular. Service is wonderful. My friend and I sat outside; it was very pleasant.
Lunch was wonderful. Service was excellent. A Beautiful spot.
Great Servive and food, I liked the good attitude of all the people working their:)
Great restaurant to hold a team dinner. Everyone from when you checkin with the hostess to the waitstaff was great. Thank you Tempest for suggesting the private room for our group team event. We had a fun evening. Everyone enjoyed the food and ambience. I’m looking forward to my next visit.
Brittany was absolutely perfection! Her knowledge of every item and recommendations was like nothing I have seen before! It was the best dining experience, and enjoyable evening because of Brittany and the fabulous chef!
Our group of nine dined at Parker's for a birthday celebration. Our table was ready in advance, so we could be seated ahead of our reservation time. This was very nice, as the small bar area was crowded that night. Our server was very attentive thru most of our dinner and let us have a lengthy "cocktail" time before asking us about appetizer and entrée orders. Since our group was large, we were seated in the back room area, which has a very low ambience. Everyone was satisfied with their entrée selections, which varied from turf to surf options. We appreciated the complimentary birthday dessert we were given, but our ordered desserts were not all delivered together. Parker's provides a suitably extensive menu, however food and wine prices seemed high for the quality of offerings. We have been dining at Parker's for many years.
This was not our first trip to Parkers but I think it was our favorite. Our waitress was excellent, well trained, friendly, and extremely helpful. Oysters were wonderful and the swordfish was the best I've ever had. Just crispy enough but still tender. Great wine list with an extensive by the glass selection. Price is slightly high but you do get what you pay for.
We come to Parker's quite often because of the outstanding seafood. The only constant drawback is the place is not just cold, it's freezing depending upon the draft where you are seated. I had to keep a sweater on, and when looking around the room, saw several women wearing their significant other's sport coat over their shoulders since they obviously were not expecting the cold draft that permeates the restaurant. If management would take a look around and notice their clientele in such a state, they should adjust the thermostat. It's unfortunate because the food and live entertainment are outstanding, but who wants to be uncomfortable during an evening out?
Reilly from Keenan Winery was with us, he really enjoyed the food and ambiance. All the service was fantastic
Everything was wonderful. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our waitress went out of her way to make our visit memorable.
Went there on a Tuesday night and was pleasantly surprised that it was fairly crowded and lively. Nice jazz combo in the bar where we had had a great manhattan. The dining room was busy with about 50 percent business dudes in suits. Our waiter was great but the food was even better. Highly recommend the cedar plank whitefish
waitress was great, food was very good. celebrated an anniversary and got a complimentary dessert! not cheap, but was delish!
We had high expectations for this restaurant in regards to food but were slightly disappointed. The best part of our meal was the Cotton Candy, Filet and Mashed Potatoes. The lobster bisque lacked lobster meat and and overall flavor and texture which should have been silky and creamy. The Tiramisu dessert was far from delicious since the sponge cake was very dry and not at all soaked in espresso as it should be. The service was great but we won't be coming back because of the poorly executed dishes mentioned.
Lovely local restaurant with great food and service; a bit pricey but still good value for the money.
We've been to Parkers' a number of times and this is the 1st time I've been unhappy with my dish. 3 of ordered the Opah at the waitresses recommendation. All of us felt the fish was dry / overcooked. Unfortunately, by the time the waitress came back it was too late to send it back as the others had already been eating for 10-15 minutes. Other than that we loved the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly wait staff and the food (other than the Opah).
