About Parker's on Ponce
Owned by brothers John-Thomas and Christopher Scott, Parker's on Ponce is Decatur's first independently owned steakhouse. The Scott family has always been extremely involved in the local community, including local government. The restaurant is named after John-Thomas' 12 year old daughter, Parker. The whole family is often seen at the restaurant - it is not a business to them, but a home - and they treat guests of the restaurant as family as well.

Parker's on Ponce Ratings and Reviews
Basic steakhouse, nothing spectacular. I didn’t like to wait considering I made reservations, but the server was attentive and nice. Drinks were great! Steak over cooked( well done) , even though I requested medium well. The crabcakes were tasty.
Parker's on Ponce is a fantastic place for a really nice romantic date. The lighting is low and the piano music in the background is a great ambiance. Freddy, our server, was easy to talk to and an expert on the menu. The food was probably the best part, though. My wife and I shared the grilled octopus as an appetizer, which was the best I have ever had. Then, she had the USDA Prime Grade Filet with herb butter, mashed potatoes, and fried Brussel sprouts while I had the Prime Grade ribeye with broccoli and black truffle mac n' cheese. For dessert, we split the creme brulee. Everything was delicious. The only negative thing I could say about Parker's is that the complimentary bread and olive oil was just OK, nothing spectacular. Also, it is difficult to find parking around there so be sure to allow some extra time if you've made a reservation.
Go here. You won't be disappointed.
Food was delicious BUT my husband’s steak was not served as ordered (served medium, ordered rare). They kindly took it back to prepare another, but the second steak arrived after the rest of the party was done with dinner.
The food and service were outstanding. Everything from the cocktails, appetizers, entree and dessert was perfect. Our waiter was very attentive and the manager came by a couple of times to ensure we were happy. Try the filet! On the drive home from dinner we were discussing how we’re already looking forward to our next dinner at Parker’s.
We had an 8:15 reservation on Valentines Day. Our entrees were served at 9:40. My husband was served 2 salads 20 min apart (2nd was duplicate). This pushed back kitchen on entree. When told it was a duplicate, trash from table was put in the second salad as it was removed. Broccoli was overdone not crisp and poorly presented.. open Table users can find many steak houses in the ATL with better value.
Very inviting and welcoming restaurant with great service and very good food. The space is also cozy and comforting. My MOCKTAIL was well made and we appreciated the bar offered to make one. We also appreciate the monitored parking lot in the back, which is well lit and staffed by nice people.
I wanted to give my wife a great experience for her birthday dinner and she specifically wanted to eat steak and drink some good wine. I found Parker’s On Ponce after doing an extensive Yelp search and they fit the bill for everything that we wanted, they were especially accommodating towards her Gluten Free needs(medical reasons). The service was spectacular from the moment we stepped inside. We were warmly greeted and seated. The FOH manager made sure we were comfortable and then our server took our drink order. From there the meal went smoothly. The steaks were cooked perfectly and my rack of lamb was divine. We had a great time sharing the evening with close friends and my only regret is that I ate everything on my plate instead of saving a bit for later. We will definitely be returning.
The food is good, but not special. The prime filet is very good. The bone in strip had little flavor. The crab cake taste good, but very few chunks of crab. Our server was friendly, but most were not super friendly. Hostesses were not overly pleasant. The food is good and we would try it again, but it’s not for a special occasion.
My family loves this restaurant. The pork chops and rack of lamb are cooked to perfection. The bacon wrapped dates are also very good. The desserts are a mixed bag. My sister thinks the bread pudding is the best. The apple cobbler is just baked apple slices with cinnamon. Also, the cobbler lacks any sweetness. The service is excellent.
I brought my fiancee here for his birthday and we absolutely loved it. Our waitress, Jessica, was phenomenal. Our food was 1 solid 10/10 and he felt so special on his birthday as the staff were attentive and wished him a happy birthday. The ambiance was amazing, and the live music was a great touch. We'll be back!
We went for my husband's birthday. I called ahead to ask if I could drop off a cake ahead of time and was told yet but was not told about the $3/person cutting fee...had I known about that, I would invited everyone back to the house for dessert. Our waiter was friendly, but the timing of service was off. We had to wait at times but were rushed through salads when entrees were delivered more quickly than expected. Overall, the experience did not live up to the expense, but my husband was happy with his dinner, so that's really all that mattered for this visit.
The host staff was very disrespectful. We had reservations and arrived on time, the restaurant was not crowded but we had to wait 10 minutes before we could be seated. Another group came into restaurant and was seated immediately while we waited. Then my wife and I were seated as far back of the restaurant near the restrooms while there were plenty of empty tables in other parts.
I will never eat their again due to the lack of respect from the hostess staff.
Parker’s has become our go to place for special celebrations. While the atmosphere is inviting for the everyday diner we live an hour away and the food makes it worth the drive. We celebrated my in laws anniversary and they have not stopped raving about it.
We have been to Parkers on Ponce many times and have always enjoyed. The service is very good and not being "bugged" by the server. The food is excellent and never had any compaints.
Simply put, this restaurant is one of the my best.
The only drawback is the parking. There is an idiot who walks around the parking lot with hand out and asks for $5.00 for the parking spot. He doesn't do anything, doesn't say much and when asked what he does, he simply keeps his mouth shut. It would be much better if there were meters instead of this guy as I am always wondering if he is going to break in to any vehicle. Street parking is the best, but not always lucky to find a spot.
We visited from out of town and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Parkers. It's in a fun area of Decatur and there are many options. We have tried a few other places but Parkers is the best. Everything that the table ordered was exceptional. Most of the table had steaks that are as good as or better than a high end steakhouse. We had a table near the kitchen but it was still very nice with multiple fireplaces and ambiance. We will be back.
My first visit and I don’t know why. Four of us celebrated my birthday in style. We shared the Grilled Slab Bacon appetizer, the thick cut bacon is made and smoked in-house and was accompanied with baby arugula, picked shallot, and orange-balsamic glaze.
My wife shared the Spinach salad with me. I’m a sucker for candied pecans! The miso-lemon vinaigrette checked the sweetness of the pecans.
Parker’s is a steak house but offers seafood and other ‘lighter’ fare. I chose the aged USDA Prime Ribeye though the bone-in Dry Aged Kansas City Strip was tempting. The Ribeye was cooked perfectly and had the flavor I desired.
We shared several sides icluding the fries, sauteed spinach, and the Maple-Miso Glazed Fried Brussels with Apple slices. I’m not a fan of Brussel Sprouts but these wete superb!
A dining pleasure and I will have to come up with another special occasion soon to return to samle the seafood and maybe the Black Truffle Mac and Cheese.
