About Parker's on Ponce
Owned by brothers John-Thomas and Christopher Scott, Parker's on Ponce is Decatur's first independently owned steakhouse. The Scott family has always been extremely involved in the local community, including local government. The restaurant is named after John-Thomas' 12 year old daughter, Parker. The whole family is often seen at the restaurant - it is not a business to them, but a home - and they treat guests of the restaurant as family as well.

Parker's on Ponce Ratings and Reviews
Each time visit, Parker’s on Ponce, the experience is pleasant and the food is intriguing. However, this time I was only dissatisfied with the presentation and taste of my meal. The salmon entree I had, appeared and tasted burnt, especially the Brussel Sprouts. I could not enjoy them.
The steak frites I had on Friday evening were tough with a good amount of gristle in it. Other than that the rest of the meal was good. One dislike I have about coming to Parker's is that now you have to pay to park and then come in and eat. We eat at another location in Decatur and when we park we get a ticket which the restaurant affixes a sticker to so the parking is free. With the slowly increase of the price of the food and the amount to park, it is becoming increasingly unappealing for my crowd to make Parker's a go-to place.
The food was Magnificent, Steak and Salmon was cooked to Perfection. Our server wasn’t Warm and Fuzzy, did not seem eager to serve. We made reservations with Open Table and gave instructions that it was a birthday celebration. When we arrived we were asked if we were celebrating an occasion, we answered “yes”. During our visit the staff didn’t offer a Birthday Wish nor did we get a complimentary Birthday Cake. What’s the point of the inquiry if your establishment doesn’t recognize your special occasion.
Very pricey. I honestly could not taste much difference from going to a Longhorn Steakhouse. The steak flavor was just ok and the scallops again were just ok. The parmesan grits we're not great, however, the spinach and tomatoes were very tasty. The waiter could be more attentive but the minimal approach was not enough to give bad marks per session. The creme brulee tasted more like pudding, as well as the texture. Close your eyes and the pudding is excellent. The front windows were filthy, including high up panes. This is not a recommend from me.
Not like Parker's used to be.
Used to be the calamari appetizer was a nice sized portion served with a field pea salad as an accompaniment. Now it is just a really big Houston's style serving of fried calamari with a dipping sauce. No finesse. I had the duck meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. The meatloaf was wrapped in bacon and tasty enough but very heavy handed. And again, a giant portion. The green beans were just not edible. Very under cooked.
My friend had the steak fritte- again heavy handed. The meat was tender and cooked and seasoned well, served on a huge bed of french fries that we're only have a quality of food service, not a restaurant charging an average of $32 per entrée.
We had two of their sides. The truffle macaroni and cheese and the fried brussels sprouts. The macaroni and cheese was OK. That's about all. I've had better at other places. The brussels sprouts were appropriately deep fried with an interesting sauce but once again a gigantic serving with no finesse to it at all.
The cocktail list was very unexciting. Thank God they had a pretty basic martini. The ambience
of the restaurant is not great. The rooms seem sparse- tables, chairs and concrete floors. The two stacked stone fireplaces are very nice. But that's about it. The bar is small and crowded. The outside space is ruined by very obtrusive street lighting and proximity to the street.
This is our go-to restaurant for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. The steaks are beyond compare, the ambiance is just right, and the service is superior. The bonus is that you don't have to dress to the nines to have an elegant dining experience.
We had been to Parker's years ago and looked forward to returning. My husband's meal was delicious. However, I had the strip steak which was disappointing. It was very thin and extremely tough. I could only eat about half of it because it couldn't be chewed.
The cheesecake was delicious.
I have been coming here a few times a year for at least three years now and every experience has been stellar. Last visit was with a party of ten and again - an excellent experience. Delicious food and great service from the folks at the host stand to Danny our favorite server.
Went for my birthday. Our server Danny was awesome! I had the Ribeye and truffle mac and cheese and my husband had the crab cakes. DELICIOUS!! Dessert was the pecan pie... OMG! This was our second time at Parker's and we both agree that we will be back for many times to come
Parker's is a quaint restaurant with superior service, excellent food quality and a sophisticated ambiance. It is perfect for date night or a special occasion. There is a lovely bar and a separate private room for special events. The cocktails were exquisite and expertly crafted.
My food for the most part was fabulous; steak cooked perfectly, sides were great. House salad wasn't as good as I remembered, seemed that they skimped some on the toppings. Watch your check; they overcharged me for my special, had to have it corrected but they immediately acknowledged the error & were apologetic. The way they show your discount if you're redeeming an email discount is confusing but it was right; they add a 20% tip in that situation. I'm fine with that because service was great & I know waitstaff gets short tipped sometimes by people who don't tip on pre-discount like they should.
Parkers on Ponce never fails to deliver high quality dishes. I mean these Chef's can throw down the kitchen. I had the Lamb Choos with Rasberry Au Jus and when I tell you they were cooked to perfection. I could. It have asked for a better entree. Might I add my server Darryl was an excellent server who had knowledge of the Menu and even recommended some great whiskey's. Parkers on oonce is definitely in my Top 5 favorite restaurants in Atlanta!! You will not be disappointed at all and if you are, you're simply don't know good FOOD!!
The food was good. The service was marginally acceptable. We got mor attention from the server at the next table than from ours.
Our server just disappeared for stretches. No water refills, no removing used plates, etc.
All in all very dissatisfying for the price.
Unfortunately I became violently ill after eating. I ordered the scallops as well as my friend who also became sick Sunday night. I have missed two days of work. Not a pleasant experience. I believe the scallops were undercooked.
Very good steak and yummy crab cakes. Service was excellent too. Danny did a fabulous job! It was a little noisy. Hard to carry on a conversation. They need some sound absorbing fabric. Also, parking suggestions and a map on the website would be helpful. Decatur sucks for parking. We will be back. Probably take Marta.
