Parkers Blue Ash Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately, this was an underwhelming experience. The service was awkward but efficient. The food was good but not great. Neither my wife or I particularly enjoyed our meals, the short rib and the ribeye. My risotto was still grainy and definitely not the creamy consistency that I would hope for. Parker's presents themselves as upscale casual dining but I think the overall experience is uninspired and blasé. The building itself is very nice. I would be happy to try again for their Sunday brunch, but I don't think I would recommend returning for dinner.
I have gone to Parkers many times in the past but was disappointed on Valentines Day when I sat down and saw it was a limited menu. And the limited menu was beef or sea food. No chicken entree to choose. I do not eat sea food and wasn't interested in the high price Filet. I was just surprised that something as widely eaten as Chicken and which would be a more affordable choice was not one of the offerings.
Will double check next time on a special day.
Our waitress (Peg?) was excellent. The beginning service was spot on...the main course was a bit slow. Obviously the kitchen was overwhelmed. The food was just as ordered and hot (or cold) as required. The western/horse racing theme wasn't what we expected, however it was tastefully decorated.
Prices are on the higher end so I would expect high quality food and service. Some of the food was great- some was cold. By the time the server checked back, (very long time) the rest of the meal was eaten. The offer was to replace the cold food which was fine but the server seemed annoyed to have to box it to take home since all the meals were already eaten prior. Won’t be high on our list to return to unfortunately. We were hoping we found a great new eating spot!
Liked the décor. Server did a nice job. Food delivery forgot steak knife, butter and sour creme. Server immediately had it brought out. Nice job, took a few extra minutes to get drinks server apologized, said bartender was a little backed up. Overall, I will definitely recommend. Need to try Sunday.
My friend and I met for dinner! It was wonderful at Parker's! I will tell you that the waiter (and I so wish I remembered his name) was incredible! We sat in the back near the fireplace!
He let us talk for a long time, waited on us with unlimited ice tea and coffee throughout the evening (which was long for us as we talked forever)!
The food was outstanding! It always is there!
Would highly recommend Parker's!
Unfortunately we went on this Saturday evening 7:00 reservation looking for rare, and medium rare prime rib. Only well done left. I suspect they did not want to split the next roast. They picked up the entrees but it really was disappointing. I doubt we get a make up invite.
Steak was cooked perfectly! and worked with very well with the salad. Bar area and cocktails could use a little updating. There is a lot going on in the cocktail world and the bar keep didn't discuss, ask, present or really engage with us about choices, variations, new ideas.
Very average overpriced food. Seats in booth very uncomfortable. Decor is dated and in serious need of both cleaning and upgrade. Service was adequate, not friendly not great. Server was distant and seemed like he couldn't care less if we enjoyed our meal. Refills for our drinks were never offered. We did not receive food quality, portion size or service value that justified the prices charged. Too bad. This was once a nice place to dine.
Parkers has had a great menu for years. The bar would be great if they expanded into the west dining room especially when they have music, as for a freezing January Friday night, the bar was wall-to-wall including the bar seats ! It's quite pricey for a fish fry at $18.99 , but I really like it. The atmosphere with the horse racing game theme is comfortable and relaxing.
Great ambiance. Nice fireplace. Romantic. Music may need some mellowing ie Sinatra, etc.
Turn down volume also/ Filet Mignon was very good but don't expect their specialty they are noted for (prime rib) any more except on Fri and Sat - a big dissapointment! The bar area looked crowded, but we did not try it on this occasion.
We like Parkers however guests in the next cube had a dog which whined and squeaked the entire time. I was offering lunch to 2 women one of whom I had not met before. It was an informal business connect. I am a dog lover have 2 dogs myself however if the dog is poorly trained and impacting the ambience other guests enjoying their meal this is not acceptable. Parkers said they were working on it but from my standpoint no action was taken to help with this - the couple with the dog looked to be regulars. It was a disappointing experience for me and my guests.
We went to the Sunday brunch with 8 family members. The food was excellent and the service was very good. There was something at the buffet for everyone to enjoy eating. We always look forward to going to Parkers Blue Ash Tavern. Our young grandchildren also enjoyed their meals. Our daughter-in-law went with us for the first time and rated it an A+.
Wow, turn the music down. We asked our waiter to see if the music volume could be lowered. He said he’d ask the manager. It didn’t get lower. In fact, the bar area was much quieter than the main dining area. We did mention to the hostess on the way out it was way too loud for a lunchtime crowd, or any time of day. It’s not a disco.
The gentleman who didn’t greet us was very rude. His attitude was unpleasant and made our family feel unwelcome. We didn’t have a reservation when we walked in and were told it would be quite a wait. I got on Open Table and reserved a seat right away. This aggravated him further. He was rude about it a d said that was the problem with open table.
Been here once before and our experience was much different this time. Appetizers arrived quickly. Entrees and dessert service took forever! The kitchen couldn't keep up with the orders, possibly since there were 2 large parties in the party rooms during our visit. Reconsider a visit here if you go during peak times. Our previous visit was at 5p and we had no issues.
We live in the neighborhood so it was close on a cold evening when I didn't want to cook. The calamari is excellent and we split the chicken sausage pasta dish. Which you had to look really hard to find any chicken and there was literally one piece of sausage. We had to laugh because at Teller's in Hyde Park they have the same dish and it's loaded with chicken and sausage. Also, when we ordered we told the waitress we wanted the calamari first but we had taken 2 bites of it and she was bringing out the pasta dish. I said to her that we wanted it later and she took the pasta back to the kitchen; when it came back out it was very cold. At this point it was no use to complain because we did not see her again until we had to flag her down to get another drink. Bad experience! Don't know if we will give this place another try or not.
