Parkers Blue Ash Tavern

I truly enjoyed our lunch yesterday. The atmosphere is really cozy. I loved the ambience of the fireplaces. Our Waiter was very nice, I told him I was meeting a friend I hadn't seen in 20 years and he was kind enough to take our photo together, he kept up on ice tea refills, and he packaged my leftovers to go nicely. Great Experience.
Sunday brunch was fantastic. All types of food and everything was delicious. I have a salmon allergy and chef was able to bring me fresh shrimp cocktail from the kitchen to avoid contamination. Thanks so much for that. Bloody Mary’s were awesome
Valentine’s Day dinner. Had a great time with great food and service
First time visiting Parker’s, went for Valentine’s Day, was anticipating a great experience. While our server was very friendly and accommodating, we had 4 issues that I was somewhat surprised/disappointed.
1. Wife ordered a side Caesar salad with no dressing, the salad came out with dressing and had to be sent back, this wouldn’t have been a big deal if it had been the only thing.
2. I ordered the prime rib, medium rare, I received it more rare than medium rare, while it was still flavorful and I chose not to send it back as I’ll eat most cuts of meat so long as they’re not purple, this was close, a deep dark red, mildly warm.
3. Having never been there, I thought it was odd that my prime rib did not come with a steak knife, but I just went with the utensils I had at my disposal (fork and butter knife). It wasn’t until I was nearly finished (mostly because that was about the time the tables around us got their food) that I noticed the tables around us had steak knifes.
4. I ordered regular mashed potatoes, but received loaded mashed potatoes. I removed the chives and most of the sour cream and ate them, but when the check came, I found I was also charged $2.00 extra for the loaded potatoes. The server took the charge off when I brought it to his attention.
For a first time visit, on a special occasion, and for the price they charge, I wasn’t overly impressed. If it had just been one of these four things I would have understood. But it was the compounding issues that soured my experience.
Service and staff were very nice, outgoing, and friendly. Food was very good, and the drink selection at the bar was great too. The old school vibe was okay, but not quite as trendy as I prefer. That said I would recommend Parkers to anyone, it's a great place!
Such a wonderful dining experience and the food is always amazing. Highly recommended!
We went on Valentine's Day. My wife mentioned that she would like to try sometime and I was able to get a late reservation. Food was outstanding and so was the service. We will be back.
Two rooms of the restaurant are beautiful with fireplaces and a lodge feel. We had a reservation and we were walked past several open tables near the fireplaces and were seated in a back room that feels like a 1970s family room. It was FREEZING and when we asked to sit somewhere warmer we were told that they "turned the heat up to 80" but this was just a space heater that read 65 degrees and it was too far away from the tables to do anything. The food was fine. We wanted a specialty cocktail from the menu but they were out of it, which seemed odd. Our server was wonderful and did the best she could with our situation. The manager did apologize and adjusted our bill to compensate for the cold, but I don't like being told I can't sit at one of several open tables because "they're reserved" when I myself made a reservation a week in advance and my entire party was on time.
My only somewhat disappointing meal among many good ones in the past. The bar area is a fun place to eat and the music is always great.
Loved it! Great food, service and ambiance. Will definitely have to try the brunch!
We were rather disappointed this visit to Parker's. Had requested a booth, which we didn't get and my husband and I ordered the Prime Rib and it definitely was not up to your standards. Very fatty and way too done, even tho we had requested medium too well. Have visited Parker's in the past and always been satisfied, unfortunately not this time.
Great food and atmosphere . The Service was great. Very friendly staff. It was very neat and clean. It’s a great family gathering place.
Our server Alec was attentive without being intrusive. He offered suggestions when certain drinks were unavailable at the bar. The food was excellent.
Birthday with family
The best cheesecake I have ever put in my mouth. Wine list includes selections you won’t find anywhere else.
Delicious cocktails and food! Lovely atmosphere perfect for holding conversations with friends. Definitely will return!
Try the French onion soup but ask for bread on side. Cole slaw was dry as other reviews mentioned. Burger was perfectly done for a 96 year old. Our male server was very good and brought a fantastic cheesecake to celebrate a birthday. Must try! Fish tacos were good but wings were just ok.
drinks could have been filled more often, but food was great
I frequently dine at Parker’s and it’s one of my favorite restaurants, but this experience was awful and my friends will never return. So sorry I suggested it. We had the worst waiter. He spilled a whole glass of red wine all over my friend’s down coat, her purse, pants, and the table. He did not acknowledge that he had ruined her belongings, went to get a bar rag, and proceeded to wipe the table while running the rag across her napkin and place setting. He did not remove the place setting and bring her another one. We had to give her one. He never offered to pay for her meal or anything. My friend eventually saw the hostess and called her over, explained that her belongings were covered in red wine. The hostess gave her the business card of the manager and then the waiter said he was sorry, but still no offer from him to compensate her. That wasn’t all. He tried to remove plates of food we were still eating. The whole dining experience was rushed and unpleasant. Yesterday, my friend tried calling the manager, left a message , but did not receive a call back.
Update: The General Manager, John Guminy reached out and was very apologetic for our experience. He compensated my friend for her dinner, offered to dry clean her coat, or buy a new one, if the wine could not be removed. Parker’s is one of my favorite restaurants typically, and this experience was an anomaly. The food, service, and warm atmosphere are fabulous!
Great service and food. Enjoyed all the buffet options. Will definitely be visiting again.
This is a great homey location just outside of the Cincinnati area to get away from it all for a great meal. The steaks are very good and cooked to perfection. Beautiful decor and fireplace have a nice elegance but you never feel over or under dressed. Good selection of Beer and a great selection of bourbon. I never miss coming here when in town.
Food was great very attentive waiter Eric took great care of us- we like the relaxed comfortable atmosphere and traditional style pub/bar environment. It reminds us of Europe.
Sending our son back to college.
If you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner on a Saturday night, this is definitely not the place. It is very lively both in the bar area and in the restaurant. But the food and service is good and we try to go to Parkers Blue Ash tavern when we visit Cincinnati. I do prefer bar seating but, on Saturday nights, it's almost impossible. There is usually a guitarist who is playing and singing country music which makes it all the more enjoyable.
I had been to Parkers with a work group and was excited to plan a time to bring my husband back. I made the reservation through Open Table and specifically asked for a quiet booth if possible. We don't have the opportunity to go out for dinner alone very often. The hostess placed us at a table in the open and I asked if a booth was available as I had requested one on the reservation. She seemed annoyed to go check availability and after a while came back and told us she didn't have one available. (There were 3 right next to us that were open at that time.) The food was good and our server was attentive, but sitting in the middle of the dining room did not lend itself to the quiet dinner discussion we had hoped. It was loud enough that we were trying to talk over others to even hear each other - we ate quickly and left.
Great food and service!!!
They sat us in the bar and it was noisy and the service was okay at best.
Wonderful as always we will be back again and again!
This has always been our special place; first date, proposal and anniversaries. Our server forgot our bread and drinks many times. Everything came out in an odd order and our Prime Rib was tough and overcooked and our mashed potatoes were cold. It was incredibly disappointing for our favorite restaurant.
The server was very good as was the salmon. However the green beans and potatoes were extremely hard and virtually inedible. Dessert was good
Came here with my family on New Year’s Eve. Was excited to try something new to us. Was very disappointed with the service. Every time we asked our waiter to take our order, to get the check, etc it would take at least 15-20 minutes before he came back. By the end we wanted to just leave and couldn’t even get our check to do so. Overall not impressed with the service we received.
The filet mignon was super delicious!! Also delicious, the creme brûlée cheesecake!!!
The serve staff is nice but they have no clue regarding the protocol-
The rule of thumb is serve from
Take from left and serve
from the right. Wine glasses go to right of water- not in this restaurant/. Knives and forks are never placed properly. Empty cocktail glasses were never removed. Ordered the filet- just saying not flavorful - nothing like Hyde park. Mashed potatoes were severely lacking. Absolutely no flavor. Bernajse sauce was separated and not flavorful at all. Why is this place still in business?
Anniversary dinner, 36th
This is one of our favorite locations in the greater Cincinnati area. Between our group we have the filet and salmon entrees and all were excellent.
The restaurant is always superb. The waiter was
Totally off his game. It was really awkward.
First time visit to Parkers, and we wanted to like it. But.......
Ordered a "Parker Fashion" cocktail, their version of an "Old Fashioned". The menu described "brandied cherries". Unless Kroger has started to soak their maraschino cherries in brandy, there was nothing special about the cherries in this drink.
We wanted the toasted ravioli appetizer. They are described as bolognese stuffed raviolis with a pesto cream sauce. The waiter offered "they got the wrong ones, so they're kind of spicy". We ordered them anyway, and they came out as cheese filled with a hint of jalapeno. When we questioned him, he offered to take them back, and we ordered a different appetizer. He then asked me - "Should I take them (raviolis) off the bill?"
Expected more, especially considering the price point.
The food is good but overpriced for what you get. Our server was ok but wasn’t very attentive especially as the restaurant wasn’t busy.
Having read that this restaurant was Cincinnati's best Sunday brunch buffet we decided to try it out. We were disappointed in the quality of the food, ambience and service. The shrimp they served was decent but a bit mushy like it had been frozen and thawed and refrozen. The salmon had no taste and the brisket that was carved had too much fat and had absolutely no taste to it.
Overall the food was not any better than any ordinary buffet brunch. Nothing outstanding to make it say "wow" what fantastic food. Almost as similar to Golden Corral.
Sorry Parker's but this was not a good experience.
