Lots of different, creative small plates. Always enjoy this restaurant.
So good! Highly recommend! We went for dining month and will definitely be back!
If you love your vegetables, this is probably the place for you. As a meat eater, the choices and portion sizes were small.
Well prepared and quite creative dishes, all of them small plates. Outstanding and timely service. Very comfortable. Competitive with all the other small plate servers in town. Gratuity is included in the price.
Worth a visit.
Had Portland dining month menu plus dessert. Delicious. And an easy walk to Portland Center Stage.
Very consistent and creative as we have come to expect!! Our out of town guests enjoyed it.
Park Kitchen truly represents everything that FLOSS (fresh local organic seasonal sustainable) stands for. On top of that they have great atmosphere, serve tasty food and mix vivacious cocktails. Will comeback and bring friends.
Good cocktails, interesting food. Have been here on several occasions. This time disappointed, service was lack luster. Had to wait a long time to even order cocktails and we both ordered the March dining out menu and it was served way too quickly. Restaurant didn't appear busy but felt very rushed. Food was just mediocre. Will go back another time, but left feeling ho hum, will wait awhile to return.
I would love to eat here everyday but this is a place for all occasions.
Our favorite restaurant for a special birthday dinner. The food combinations are so unique, but so tasty. good selection of new and tried and tested menu items. The wine pairings are spot on. And the staff and chef David make you feel like family.
The food is consistently excellent. If you come here 4 or so times a year the staff knows you and most importantly they are here on your next visit. Staff turn over is very low which tells you a lot about a restaurant. You also know where the food is coming from because you see David Sapp at the Portland Farmers Market buying food for the restaurant.
Park Kitchen is one of the very top restaurants in PDX and should always be listed as such. Food and service were excellent again. Every dish has some interesting twist - I usually just go for the Chef's Choice tasting menu and they don't disappoint.
Scott Dolich chef/owner rocks!
Not enough people know how quietly influential he has been
on the Portland Restaurant scene for many years.
And he is still putting it out there...we did the tasting menu
which was a tour d force without ever being extravagant
or over reaching. In fact its so comfortable, you feel like
you could eat at Park Kitchen several times a week!
Great open table fare. The food was made from high quality, in season ingredients with a well thought out menu. All of the items paired well with each other, texture was on-point with pungent flavors that accompanied a well lit ambience. Recommend to anyone for a great dinner.
Park Kitchen is a light and stylish alternative to the heavier fare that seems to be de rigeur for Portland fine dining. The vegetables were the star of our six course tasting menu, featuring a brilliant beet and goat cheese salad, charred brussels sprouts in a horseradish cream, and a simple watermelon radish salad. The menu was rounded out with their always-on-the-menu chickpea fries, a cornmeal pasta covered in spicy pork, and a perfectly cooked sirloin with a kale-cheese sauce.
The service is... different. Not bad by any stretch, just different. Park Kitchen has adopted a 'one-house' model for service - no tipping allowed - and it shows in more than just the employees' paychecks. There was clearly a 'waiter' in charge, but service responsibilities were shared by the bartender and kitchen employees depending on who was available. Park Kitchen is small enough to make this work.
My husband and I enjoyed our Valentines Day dinner here. Shayla was our server! She made the night even more fun. She was incredibly attentive, well-informed and so fun. We really enjoyed her. The meal was good. Definitely some delicious options throughout the 8 courses. I do not eat oysters, so you might consider another option next time when offering shellfish to those who don't eat it. The portions were on the small side, which is great. However, the cost ($120 per person) seemed rather high considering the smaller portions. We like smaller portions but not at that cost. We recognize that the since you are following the gratuity-free system, the cost of a tip was embedded in the price. However, we're not fans of this system as we enjoy tipping really well for great service -- such as we received with Shayla. Overall, we had a great night and enjoyed the food and especially the service. We were just taken aback by the cost of the meal in total -- minus our hefty beverage bill of course! Thanks.
Valentine's day $125 prix fixe menu was astounding. Full spectrum of flavor, mood and texture without being too weird. Absolutely worth the price of admission. My date surprised me by not being a beef eater! The fine folks at Park kitchen unflinchingly did not charge us for her meal. She ate only the vegetables and was as satisfied with the experience as I was. I wanted to leave a compensatory tip, but this place pays its employees fair wages and it shows. Bravo Park Kitchen. Thank you for a special evening.
The service was friendly but not obsequious. The food exceptional. I really wanted to give a nice tip at the end, but this is a no tipping establishment. Definitely plan on going back.
It was ok but everything was mediocre ... service, food and ambience. Not going back ...
Another wonderful tasting experience. Great fool, wonderful pacing, and an overall exceptional evening.
I've only been to Portland a few times and I've managed to make it to Park Kitchen every visit. I really like the approach to the food and the drinks and wine list. We had a great meal once again and I look forward to visiting again in the future.
We really enjoyed our meal! Great food, very tasty yet simple and fresh. Service was amazing! We like it was an open kitchen area too. We recommend it!
I was really disappointed with this restaurant. It felt like they really did not have their act together, it took multiple people to figure anything out and the food was sadly mediocre. Furthermore they did not have 1 woman working the night I was there. With so many good restaurants to choose from, I will not come here again.
Lovely, I dare say exquisite food, but very rushed experience on New Year's Eve. I am sad that we were only given 90minutes to enjoy the 7 courses. Food was great but the experience was sub standard.
This is one of the very few places in Portland that we come back to again and again---the flavors are always exceptional, the staff consistently top-notch, and the overall experience the perfect combination of laid-back and cutting edge.
Have always returned to Park Kitchen for its outstanding staff and unique food. Love the idea of shared plates for the chance to savor multiple plates during the evening.
the vibe of quiet and relaxed Portland/Paris(felt i was in the 4th ) really good food, not trendy , but "foody" -- the Prixe Fixe was well worth it. Could eat there at least weekly----
Astonishing food, knowledgeable server - he should be, he was the sous chef! I love the intimate connection between the farm, the kitchen, and the customer. Or kids, ages 10 and 12, loved the food. My daughter coudn't get enough of the lamb. Fabulous!
They're trying hard and doing well but I'd recommend exploring their menu items rather than their chef's supper.
We went here to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time in Portland and I found them off of reviews on TripAdvisor. Being vegetarian we were very happy to be able to have the tasting menu, which is not always possible in many restaurants.
The service and food were outstanding and we would easily visit this restaurant again.
The chocolate tart was to write home about. Shared food arrives in stages. Dishes are a little small but delightful. We will definitely come back.
Great food, miniscule portions. "Shared plates" were about 1/3 the size of anything sharable. Just not a great value in the Portland dining universe. Too many other options.
Our meal was incredible and we were able to make a reservation at the last minute. We both felt that the waiters pushed us along a bit, we usually prefer more time in between courses but it was close to closing time.
Great food - very creative! Great service! Fun! We have been many times and always order and share the small plates. The food is prepared fairly quick. So you can order several small plates. Enjoy them. Then see how hungry you are, and order more, then repeat as long as you want right through dessert.
Several friends had recommended Park Kitchen to us and we were so pleased about our experience! From the excellent customer service (Chad!) to the exquisite selections for the chef’s supper choices, we were satisfied and satiated and ready to book our next visit by the time we left! The cornmeal pasta with eggplant was a delightful surprise, the tuna and shishito peppers smoky and perfectly prepared, and the desert....FABULOUS! We are excited to return on our next trip to Portland to discover what other culinary wonders await :)
We love the creative menu items and applaud the use of local ingredients. Perfect service, we feel special and cared for with each visit. Also great bar program. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Amazing, one of a kind!
Amazing Food, and Fantasic, personable service! Menu had a very wide variety of dishes that were very creative and affordable. Chef took the time to come out and talk to us. Great Experience!
Wonderful, varied selections available. Service was attentive but unobtrusivse. Great overall..
A faded star; a pale imitation of what it once was. Sad to say, but the food quality, creativity and gourmet experience that was once a hallmark of Park Kitchen has badly faded. Uninspired and mediocre dishes. Odd (and stoned) service. Was our third choice but went because no availability a week out at our other options. That should have been a signal.
