Parxgrill Ratings and Reviews
Celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary here. We were looking for something fun to do instead of just going to dinner and coming home but we couldn't do an overnight. Decided on a little gambling to add excitement to the night so we made a reservation at Parx Grill. We had the shrimp cocktail which was like a meal itself, the shrimp were huge. Then we shared the beat salad, delicious. I had the filet mignon and my husband had the cowboy ribeye. My steak was perfect but my husband did not like his (the reason for the 4 stars on food). Then we shared banana cream pie and the waitress brought it out with a candle and sang to us. The service was attentive and kind. The ambiance was nice. Only con is because the restaurant is all open to the casino floor the cigarette smoke wafts in which is unpleasant while eating, but if you can't deal with cigarette smoke then you probably don't come to the casino so this would not deter us from eating here again. My dirty martini was top notch and my husband's espresso martini was all he hoped it to be!
The restaurant is in the casino which is understandable but some more signage outside would help. The place looks a bit gaudy and outdated but nice and clean.
We had good service with drinks and appetizers. However, we got there at 7pm and it was 8:11pm and we still hadn’t been served out entrees. Tables behind and in front of us were served and those people came after us. We asked for the manager and told him to charge us for our drinks and apps so we could leave. He then told us that or entrees were ready and he would only charge us half price. It was another 10 minutes and then a different server brought them out and we just told him to pack them up to go. The manager came back with the entrees packed in a bag and said they were on the house. He then informed us that because my husband ordered a bone-in chicken dish, it takes 26 minutes to make the meal. That is still the longest 26 minutes I have ever experienced.
I don’t believe the ambience or the food is worth the price.
I can't even explain how great of a place this is. Scott is the best server in the business The food is just spectacular. Everything is perfect. Located in a quiet spot in a casino you would never even know you were in a casino. We go there sometimes just for dinner Valet is so fast. The people who work there could not be nicer. Never a wait for your table. Ever. Fast service. Bread is perfect. Salads are perfect. Fine selection of anything you want. If you want a perfect meal, run don't walk to this place.
Arrived early but it was 6 pm. They weren’t terribly busy.
Menu choices were good. The cocktail shrimp were Very large. The raw Oysters were excellent.
This is not a cheap dinner. Dinner for two is would run about $150. Needs to increase the beer choices although they get from other parts of the casino.
Cowboy ribeye was terrific. More seafood choices would be appreciated but the paella was also good.
It's a shame this restaurant in inside the casino. It's literally open to the casino floor smoking section, with zero door to block the cigarette smoke from filling the entire restaurant. If you're a smoker or don't mind taking in a mouthful/lungful of smoke with each bite of your meal, then maybe this place is for you. Food was pretty good, though very pricey. Service was excellent.
Very disappointing...fatty tough steaks greasy french fries...long wait for the food the best thing on the table was the bread basket. Ordered banana cream pie it was like a rock...Don't waste your money the food was the worst. It's just a shame that a expensive steak house can't make a good steak. Saw the chef walking around talking to everybody who knows who was in that kitchen.
After an afternoon of gambling we had dinner at Paxgrill. Everything was good. Service was excellent. Frank, the executive chef comes around to all the tables to see how everyone is doing. We gave him a hard time about being out of the veal shank jokingly. He gave everyone at the table his business card and offered to make us a special meal on our next trip if we called a day in advance. Overall a very nice experience. Steaks were all cooked to the right temp. Salmon was also very good. Bacon app left a little to be desired. Shrimp app was very good as well.
