Park Avenue Tavern
Good food. Horrible coffee! Loud but fun nyc vibe!
The food may be good for a tavern but the noise level in intolerable. I'll find a quieter place next time.
I made a reservation online through Open Table and was not notified by anyone that there was a private event at the restaurant starting at 8p. My table was rushed out in less than an hour. Very disappointing - otherwise the food is always good just wish I had been notified and I would have made other plans.
We had Thanksgiving dinner at Park Avenue Tavern. The food was excellent and nice comfortable atmosphere. We enjoyed our dinner and would go back if ever in NYC again.
Too loud for a business lunch
Great restaurant near Grand Central Station. Good variety of appetizers on menu. We enjoyed the veggie burger and fries. The wait staff were helpful and prompt. The noise was extremely loud at dinner but overall great expensive.
Good food, great drinks very broey
Although the taverns ambience is good I have to say one side of the restaurant is better than the other. On the night we were there the table we were allocated was very drafty, in fact it was fairly uncomfortable. Maybe the regulars knew this because everyone seated near us was wearing double layers under their coats. Every time the door opened there was a chill coming through. The other side of the restaurant seemed to be a much cozier atmosphere.
The service was a bit slow and the food mediochre. I had the fish and chips and although the chips were good the pieces of fish were more batter than fish and the batter was thick and heavy. My husband said his burger was fine. I dont like burgers so maybe that was the problem.
To sum up, I probably would not come here again, there are plenty of other options. I would probably recommend it to anyone who prefers a bar like atmosphere and is happy with burgers and fries. Just make sure if you come in the winter you are warmly dressed!
Bad service. Seem understaffed, too.
Our visit today was great.
Solid Tavern with well above average food.
Really great service and great food however the hostess was the rudest person I’ve ever encountered
Noisier than I would like but very good food and service.
Excellent food - top notch steak and my wife really enjoyed the fish and chips. The hummus starter was plentiful and the flatbread was hot. Servers were pleasant and polite but why did they bring the main course before we had finished the starter?
Leuke ervaring om tussen de echte new yorkers te zijn.
Het is heerlijk en leuke attente bediening.
Nadeel is dat er erg veel lawaai van de bar gasten zodat je elkaar aan tafel niet kan verstaan.
As loud as a wind tunnel. Had to yell and still could not be heard. I love this spot, but not going again at this time on a Friday.
Have always enjoyed Park Ave tavern. We had a flat bread & burrata & both were delicious.
Food was bland
Place is ugly
Table was stuck in a corner
Asked to be moved was told no other spots all were reserved but when we left there were still plenty of empty seats we could have been moved to
We picked this spot because the weather wasn’t great and it was close to GCS. The bar was very busy with after work crowd. We got a great table right away. The service and food were both excellent. In addition the old fashioned I had was one of the best I’ve tasted!
Super loud but lots of fun. Ellie was the best server ever. She's worth five stars!
Good diner music. Good food and great service. Good for watching sports too
Was great except we had to flag our waitress a few times
This was a great Midtown spot to grab brunch with out-of-town friends right before they had to head to Penn Station. The location is perfect for those who need to stick by transit, and the brunch food was A+. There were four of us, and did the traditional eggs benedict, breakfast burrito, spicy chicken sandwich and grilled cheese/tomato soup. I'd say the soup and sandwich was the winner, but everything was delicious. Reasonable prices for NYC brunch.
Great Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese!
2nd time here. Food was fair to good. Very noisy. Waiter was pleasant
I frequent Park Ave Tavern several times throughout the year The service is always outstanding but the food was a tad bit salty.
Always a sure bet for delicious food and great service. Never disappoints.
A bit over priced for what you get. Salad was slightly wilted and the lobster roll was meh...
my go to spot for business or pleasure for great food, drinks and conversation. Until next visit. See you soon!
great restaurant when you're looking for something between a steakhouse and average bar
Our waiter was the best we have had in a very long time!
The place wasn’t crowded and yet we were put in the back corner in front of the bathrooms and also where the garbage was taken (very loudly) down the stairs. Service was Meh, no one seemed like they wanted to be working, very little follow-up once the food was delivered to the table. We were never asked if we wanted another round of drinks and since we were stuck in the corner we didn’t see the staff to be able to ask for more drinks. We just finished quickly and went down the street to have another drink and better service.
Not sure we will bother trying this place again.
Good food, good service. There isn't much else you could ask for.
Chicken parm was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic.
Not my first time here - it's convenient for a friend, so we come here whenever we have lunch. May be the last time; we'll find another spot. Noise level: ridiculous. I actually like to be able to hear what my friend is saying without her shouting it out - or me shouting to be heard. Food: usually okay - chips are great. This time I ordered a turkey/cheese sandwich on a pretzel roll. Seriously? A pretzel roll (essentially boring), slices of turkey and some yellow cheese (cheddar - couldn't tell; it was all so bland). If there was any "lubricant" (mayo, butter, whatever) one couldn't tell as the take-away was "dry as bone."
The place is always full/busy at lunch time. Suspect because of its convenience to work/Grand Central. On the whole, a simple jambon-beurre on a half-baguette beats the majority of items on this place's menu. And, as an aside, two women next to us left most of their meals (appetizers) on their plates as they left. A testament to food waste.
Good for lunch but soooo noisy we could barely hear each other. Poor choice for old friends catching up.
Get a reservation at least 2 days before you want to go especially if you want a booth upstairs
This was a good dinner close to our hotel
An excellent place for good comfort food and reasonable prices.
