PARK 600 bar + kitchen Ratings and Reviews
I called for reservations on Sunday morning, February 11, at 10am for a 2pm reservation. The front desk (think her name was Charlotte?) said they were booked for brunch, nothing available. I asked: do they take walk ins? She said no they won’t take walk ins. She then connected me to the ‘dining’ phone, telling me they might be able to squeeze me in. No one answered the phone so I left a message stating I wanted seating for 4 if possible. No one called me back. I then went on line and made a reservation online for 2:15 with a confirmation number. I then called back and talked to Charlotte (?) to confirm that I indeed had a reservation. She checked with dining area people and told me yes. Well, the entire time we were there, 2:15 to 4:15, the most tables that were filled were 4 or 5 tables. If ‘Charlotte” was telling other people that they were booked for that day, you lost a lot of business because it was clearly not a full restaurant. Plenty of empty tables. Just thought you should know. Our server, by the way, was excellent.
Server was outstanding, we reserved a table for 8 and ended up being 11 plus an 7 year old, she was amazing, we were all served at the same time, drinks came as soon as we were seated (all guests did not arrive at the same time, she added seating as they surprised us) everything was delicious and drinks kept filled! Thank-you, the view was charming!
We had a reservation at 7:45 and still weren’t sat until 8:10 after asking several times if our table was ready. They clearly weren’t prepared for a busy night because our “special table” was in the hallway of the restaurant. It was a conference table with conference chairs. The server knew nothing! He couldn’t even answer what dressings they had and it looked like my salad came out of a bag. It’s safe to say we will not be back!
Had our early Christmas department lunch at the Park 600 restaurant. Food was great with appropriate size (not oversized) and great selection.
Space was good,as we have had problems in the past with sound levels in restaurants in the area. Only complaint was cold breeze coming from vents along wall and on our backs in banquette seating.
Service was good and friendly - just a bit slow.
Overall, very happy with selection.
I will start with I was a little concerned eating there with a toddler. However, from the moment I walked in the door, people went out of their way to open doors and help me with my son. The entire staff was very accommodating for my toddler. In no way did I feel like an inconvenience that I was there with a child. I'm guessing it was the manager even brought my son a cookie. Truly was not only fine dining but for the whole family, but messy loud toddlers at that. Thank you for making my experience so special
We had a party of 3 on a Friday night. The food and cocktails were 4-star variety, but the service was poor. Our waiter stopped by several times before the meal but was hard to find as the evening wore on. We had to seek him out to take our payment at the end of the evening. Also, the only appetizer (a salad) we ordered came out seconds before our entrees. I think our waiter was either new, poorly trained or both.
Tomatoes on margarita pizza were not ripe Caesar salad was plain mostly lettuce and expensive for lettuce. WAiter was busy with so many Other tables. Maybe not prepared for biggest bar night before thanksgiving. Pizza is great and carrot cheesecake. Smoked whitefish Mac and cheese was a good amount and a hit.
Food was good/very good but service was slow. Ambiance is nice and the restaurant is very attractive. The entertainer, a young woman on piano with a beautiful voice, was excellent. The wine list is not very interesting and needs work. Park 600 is a good option if you are in downtown Rochester but it could be even better with a few tweaks.
We loved this foodie find near downtown Rochester - it's well worth a visit. Food presentation was spot on, and most important delicious. We will definitely visit again. Our late lunch was on a rainy day so we sat inside in a booth, but the outdoor dining area looked inviting. Nice menu selection.
Stayed at the hotel. Eat & stay package is really looking forward to dinner that night. Entrance to the restaurant the wait staff was standing in front of the receptionist table we had to wait for them to get done talking. I guess was kind of an indication of how the rest of the night was going to go. We're seated bring my other people when the restaurant was pretty much empty and a very small table right in the middle I'm a very large man not fat I'm just wider than the table they sat in yet Justin seem right. Turns out our waiter was the man who was standing almost next to me talking to a couple of another table didn't mean to time them but I just happened to look at the time when I sat down it took him 12 minutes to turn and actually recognize that we were sitting there. Bore you with the details but he went back and talk to those people three more times about cars and neglected us the entire time to skip ahead we were there at least 45 minutes before we ordered not by our choice wife ordered the deep fried haddock I ordered braised short ribs. And yes we had an appetizer which was double Brie drink came appetizer came things seem to be turning around. And then dinner finally showed up a good 15 minutes after the appetizer was gone her deep fried haddock look awesome and my short rib was pretty pathetic looking only covered half the plate and I'm sorry to say the thing that still sticks out of my head is the waiter so it's cooked for over 8 hours and bragging it up. So let me tell you about this short rib baby vegetables sitting on mashed potatoes with a pool of butter on top of the mashed potatoes where the piece of meat which was half at leaned up against it and a beef demi-glace covering the short rib. To make this go quick the short rib half fat no flavor flavorless demi glaze and mashed potatoes with half a stick of butter in them pathetic comes to mind I don't believe they serve it 28 dollars. On the other hand her haddock was incredible. No more space
The short Rib was not as tender as you would expect. The service was very good and sitting outside overlooking the creek and the wedding activities was nice. We would come more often if parking wasn't such a disaster. You encourage locals to stay at the property but there is no reasonable parking solution for everyday diners. We parked two vehicles at the library.
Made a reservation here for our anniversary - which was not needed as it was a Tuesday night & not very busy. Hostess said she had a special table for us outside - next to the bussing stand. Was curious why they didn’t have a table for us overlooking the trail seeing it was our anniversary & we did have reservation. People just walked in & they were seated in better seats. Anyway our server came by to explain the specials - 3 different times - but we were reading to order after the first time but he kept taking off before we could get a word out (??). After we ordered, food came fast & was good. We then ordered dessert. Not once were we offered anything for our anniversary. Obviously hostess doesn’t communicate with the servers! A drink, appetizer or dessert to share would have been a nice gesture.
My dish did not taste as good as I hoped, and I felt portion size was not adequate considering the price. Usually, restaurants provide a bread basket/chip and dip appetizer, but that was not provided here. Again, I thought it should have been something that was included at this price-point.
Service was excellent and overall seemed happy to have us in the restaurant. The music in the corner was good and provided subtle background ambiance.
Menu was excellent. Familiar dishes with with a delicious twist. Flavorful, fresh, quality ingredients. Restaurant is a bit loud due to the high ceilings and marble floors. I dont hear well and it posed a problem for Me (not their fault) They kindly moved us outdoors where it was quieter. Beautiful riverside location. We were there as a couple, but also seems like a great group location. We saw several larger parties. We will be back.
Our 1st visit to 600 bar+ kitchen was one wonderful time.
We greatly enjoyed the Pork Shank & Michigan Shrimp entrees.
They both were outstanding in favor & unique presentation. Request a table with the server Carter, he is great with a friendly flair. He made recommendations for entrees and deserts and he was right on. He also recommended to try their Sunday brunch and we definitely will check it out as he gave us a great description of what is offered. Definitely rank this restaurant very high on our best in the area.
We both had the Salmon which was absolutely fantastic! The service was good, a bit slow at first. I was told it gets a little loud, and it did but I believe that's based on the open design of the area. So I wouldn't really recommend this place for a quiet romantic dinner. Our overall experience was very good and we will be back.
