Park 25 Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Hands down, the worst experience I, as well as my group, have ever had. I called the restaurant several times leading up to the dinner to make sure that they could handle a 20 person party. I was reassured by the manager that there would be two servers, as well as a bartender dedicated to our group. When we showed up, there was one person working. She was not only the server, but the bartender as well. I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt, but after our drinks weren't brought out for 30 minutes, I asked to speak with the manager. He reassured us that he would be stepping in to assist our server, and that our food would be out in a timely manner. Needless to say, our drinks nor food were brought out for another hour and a half. At that, only one table received their food. We again asked to speak with the manager and he said his kitchen staff was overwhelmed (we all ordered hamburgers) and that he would take care of some of the tab. While I appreciate him eating some of the costs, it didn't make the situation right. We were visiting from Colorado for my sister's 30th birthday. There are tons of places we could have gone to, but we picked Park 25 Bistro bc it was close by to where we were staying. I have been a server, I have been a bartender, and quite frankly, I would have expected to be fired if I ever treated a table the way we were treated. Get your staff in order...both on the floor and in the kitchen if you ever expect to get your ratings up. Otherwise, avoid this place!!!
We had 9:30 reservations, but did not get seated until 9:45. It took another 15 minutes to get a menu which I had to go find for myself. It took another 15+ minutes for someone to take our order. Two of our drinks took 45 minutes to arrive (a mimosa and a pineapple juice-they could not find an opener for the pineapple juice). The food came out wrong. Our entire meal was comped and that is their only saving grace. They realized they did a poor job and took care of it. We finally left at 11:05.
The food was just ok. Not a good value for the quality and portions. It took 2-1/2 hours because our server would forget things, didn't take our order until we were finished with our appetizers. He was not familiar with the menu enough to answer simple questions. I blonde woman helped us a lot. If not for her we'd still be there sitting with no drinks.
We will not be back.
First, this was my third reservation I booked that night after canceling two in hotels. I think the listing should include if it is in a hotel or not. Second, the place was dead and if felt like a hotel restaurant. Third, the server was very friendly...friendly like a waitress at a sports bar with giggle and yehaas. It wasn't even 3 star service in the sense of getting app plates or not playing on your phone while we waited. Overall, the food wasn't bad...especially if you were stuck in the hotel and couldn't walk the 100' to some really goodies next door.
Set a reservation for 9:30. We arrived and there was not hostess/host. I didn't see a waiter. Several staff walked by and didn't say anything. We eventually went and sat at the bar and ate. No hospitality to be found. And it's not like they were busy at all.
Was a little disappointed in our experience at Park 25. Wine list was sparse and non-descript. Waitress knew nothing about wine and didn't know what a decanter was. The atmosphere is very casual - more like an upscale bar than a restaurant. Food was good. Appetizer was excellent, girlfriend's filet was terrible, my salmon was very good. Desserts were good. Not a place for a special occasion or even a nice evening. Clientele was upscale and athletically attired due to the local baseball tournament. Probably a good place for lunch or afternoon drinks, but not for a romantic or a gourmet meal.
Park 25 Bistro was conveniently located across the street from Centennial Park (our next destination) so we thought we'd give it a try. We didn't realize until we parked that this was the restaurant inside the Vanderbilt Marriott. They have a nice breakfast buffet - scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes - also beef short ribs & eggs benedict - and smoked salmon. Also an omelette station.
The waiter greeted us warmly and promptly, and effused about the buffet (we weren't offered menus). We each promptly got (good) coffee and juice - but then the waiter disappeared until check time. Other patrons were clearly there for a family wedding - or reunion - and staying at the hotel. Our bill was $54 (no alcohol, although it was available).
This space is considerably nicer than a typical hotel restaurant, with high ceilings and lots of windows. Service was very friendly, but just a single manager was working the floor. It took a while to take our order, longer for food to arrive.
The food was good, the chive butter with the bread was exceptional. the steak salad was large, with good sized hunks of meat and bacon. The brisket flat bread was a bit sweet, but nicely seasoned.
As far as Marriott experiences go, this one was a disappointment. From the entrance, service was underwhelming. This form does not allow sufficient text to detail the issues.
Suffice it to say that the valet, hostess and wait staff were all unprepared, inattentive and not the quality that is usually present at a full-service Marriott property.
The one highlight was the food. The buffet was excellent.
For what was charged, I expected much more in the area of service.
Party of 4 - Easter Brunch
We arrived at our scheduled reservation time of 11:30 and were seated after about five minutes. There were a few open tables and most of the diner seemed to be staying at the Marriott which was attached.
The food was laid out "buffet style" and was very good. A large variety of both breakfast and lunch. The brunch was a flat rate, but included mimosas and Bloody Mary's.
We came on a whim after walking out of a poor experience at another restaurant. We were immediately greeted by Carlton with a great warm Welcome. He was very personable, gave great recommendations and was very attentive to our needs. The appetizers were good (got the Spinach Dip and Lemon Herb Flat Bread), the entrees were ok (Filet was overcooked and potatoes were luke warm), but the wine was a nice pour and moderately priced. The bar was energetic and had a good feel, our server Carlton was clearly slammed and could have certainly used more help from his fellow co-workers. We never received a Managers table visit. We would go back.
This was a very nice place for us as a group of nine. The service was very helpful and friendly though the food delivery was a bit slow between courses. We were on a limited menu since it was Valentines Day but there are no complaints by me. Each course was prepared well, very tasty, and the presentation was fantastic! Hats off to the chef.
Simple restaurant. Not exceptionally good food or atmosphere. Not exceptionally good service. The overall experience was just okay. Not worth the prices of the food in my opinion. Nothing extremely wrong happened but neither did anything good. The hostess forgot a menu and our waiter never showed up. The bar tender took our orders. We weren't greeted when we first walked in. These are small things but small things add up to change your experience. None of my party was impressed with the food. It was just fair.
