We liked this restaurant years ago. Now ... So awful, I don't know what to say. We waited 40 minutes for our appetizer then we waited 40 minutes for our entree. Both were undercooked. The staff did not know the menu. I will never go back !!
Good food, although not super great. It was good for what it was, but not overall outstanding.
Very very slow in getting our food. the waitress was grest
The food is far from french really. Tiny dishes to present the place to be of some sort haute couture category, which was a failed try.
For the price of $85 per person Valentines dinner was very poor. Desert was Chocolate cake which was of a local grocery store.
I am sorry, but it was a just Not Good.
This was absolutely the worst experience ever with making a reservation for a special occasion. I booked a table online through OpenTable for a special Valentine's date. We looked at the menu together online and were very excited to try the restaurant. They called and confirmed my reservation the next day. Everything seemed fine. They called again to ask if we could move our reservation back 30 minutes as they were very full. We said no problem. However, when we got to the restaurant we were quite disappointed to find that they were using a prix fixe menu without any choices or options. We are not the pickiest of eaters, but they chose many dishes we did not want and were charging $75!! Much more than a typical dinner at this restaurant. It goes without saying that this ruined our evening and we left immediately. They were not apologetic and it is unreasonable to not tell anyone that you have a prix fixe menu when we spoke to them multiple times. Terrible in every way.
Food was excellent as well as our service from Jorge!
Delicious French fare, excellent service, nice location.
The new chef has a very limited menu and has eliminated a couple of favorites ie mussels. The proportions were very small with limited garnish. The deserts were tiny and nothing special. We had 3 different deserts and all were mediocre and showed no imagination. The prices seemed 15% high vs the value. The service was excellent and sitting outside was very nice.
The tuna and mahi were small and the sauces non-descriptive.
Very disappointed because we brought friends.
The food was great, the staff was lovely, the atmosphere outside was a delight. The pitfall? The amount of time it took to deliver our food, and then the check. It was a VERY long wait. Fortunately we were busy catching up so it didn't seem as long as it was (45 minutes for the food)
Again, I loved it there, it was delicious! I would totally return and recommend. However do not go already starving.
Four of us had lunch on 12.28.16. The onion soup was tasteless and tepid. The hamburger and beef tip sandwich were over cooked and dry. The service was saved by the hostess, Ellie, who jumped in when no waiter was in sight.
Atmosphere is fine, but food was ordinary and too expensive for the quality and service.
We took my mother in law out for a nice luncheon and she absolutely loved the place! The ambiance is beautiful, and it truly is decorated like a real French bistro! The food was very good. I did not care for the nutmeg that was in the French onion soup, but everything else was spot on. We will definitely be back!
Four of us went for lunch, two for the frogs legs. The server mentioned there were new owners. I asked if there was a new chef de cuisine; he didn't know. Mind you, he was very pleasant and courteous. I asked if they had frogs legs; he said they did. One other guest ordered a beet salad, dressing on the side. Another asked for some bread or rolls. The salad came with dressing on it and too much of it at that. The server returned to say they were out of frogs legs. The bread tray never did arrive. WE quaffed a bottle of wine we wouldn't have ordered had we known. The new owner needs to get a grip on this place. The sous-chef did come out to apologize politely and in a concerned way. hat's why I've added any stars. Thing is there are just too many places to dine nowadays. I hope this restaurant will make it; it was always a pleasant place.
new owners, attentive charming service, some new menu items but the food is still delicious and the setting so beautiful.
Appetizer of frog legs was generous and scallops on short ribs absolutely delicious.
Had no idea that the restaurant had been sold. Went there because of previous dinners that were great. The food was delicious although some dishes seemed pricey. It felt like it was their first day and the servers did not seem experienced. Asked for 2 white wines & 1 red & coffee. She came with 3 white wines. We corrected her and she placed the extra white in front of our friend who had ordered coffee. We explained she didn't order wine and she took it away & came back with the red. The wait time for the meal was a little long but we have no complaints about that because we didn't want to be rushed. The meals came and 1 was incorrect. I actually pointed on the menu to what I wanted when she took the order and it was incorrect. It just seemed like a comedy of errors that night. Because the food was delicious we will give it another try in a month or so to see if the servers are better.
I always sit outside - never dined inside.
Service outside has been consistently slow.
Other much better places in the area to spend your $ amd leave happy.
Service takes forever - maybe because of how far the actual restaurant is from the outside seating.
French food, which seems hard to find these days. It has some "adventurous" dishes for the American tastebuds. My niece who is 18 and wants to try everything had the rabbit, my husband had the duck. I played it safe and had the filet mignon. Everything was great.
If it were my restaurant Id lower the lights get more booths. More special occasion. Its competing with some loud, hipster bars on that street that are loud. Iwas glad we went here so we talk.
My niece, who goes to UCF, said a weeks ago, if French cooking is so great, why are there no restaurants? Kind of a good tag line.
Overall, my experience at Paris Bistro was not great and I would not return unless some serious changes were made to the food. While the location, ambiance, and service were great, the food was probably the worst I've had at a restaurant in a long long time. I'm not sure if it was just this one occasion, but I have a feeling it's not based on some other reviews I've read online and heard from friends. We ordered meals that were about 30 dollars each so I would expect quality food. However, it was pretty much completely cold and did not even come with what was stated on the menu. I could not even recognize what kind of food they decided to substitute with. It felt like they were trying to put a meal together quickly with remaining / leftover ingredients they could find left in the kitchen. I'm never one to really send food back, however, this was just awful.
With that said, the manager was extremely apologetic and nice, as was the waiter. They offered to redo the food but we could not stay for much longer. They did not charge us for the food we sent back.
The decor both inside and out is so unique / beautiful and I really wish the food reflected that. It would be a great spot on Park Ave if some serious changes were made. All in all, it was a disappointing experience.
We were looking for good original French dishes and were not let down. The waiter was fantastic and we would classify our dinner as more of an event than a dinner. Fun and worth it!
Horrible. Waiting for food for an hour and a half. Awfully expensive too. Horrible service.
This was my first time at Paris Bistro. While I was hoping for a little more formal appearance (table cloths) the environment was very pleasant. Frog leg appetizers were very good and our entrees were very good. The flounder was exceptional. Bad part was that I noted on my reservation that this was for my mother's birthday which was not acknowledged until I hunted down the waiter to remind him. This is a good place for a nice casual dinner environment
Great food and a nice atmosphere. Restaurant was quiet, which I like for a nice dinner with family. Good spot for business lunch or dinner, special occasions and could be a romantic setting since its small and quaint.
First time trying this place. The food was okay, the service wasn't bad, but with being the one table it should have been perfect. I ordered one thing and received something different. Server was nice enough, but I had eaten the side dish to the entree when he came back to check on how things were.
Not sure I would give this place another try when there are so many choices in that general area.
Once again we had an excellent dinner. The timing of the food was perfect... We started with a fruit and cheese plate which was perfectly paired , then we had the Escargot, again, perfect. Then my companion had the salmon and I had the filet. Nice size entrees although I'd personally like to see a larger portion of potatoes because they're so delicious.
Thanks Paris Bistro!
As always, a very pleasant dinning experience. Everyone in our party enjoyed the evening , the menu choices, service and the food.
A rainy weekday night and 7:30 reservation, but there should have been many more diners.
The brunch menu was broad and well prepared. Would have liked the desert crepes to have been warm. Service was slow as apparently the main chef was out. The ambiance was excellent and it was a perfect day for out door dining. We will come again
Everything was perfect. Service, food, wine, ambiance.
We love this restaurant. We came with our family for Easter. The food was excellent, but we felt rushed. Our orders were not correct. Place settings were not supplemented after the first course. We will go back, but this time was a disappointment.
Goodfood, good ambiance, great service. Tucked away in a beautiful little alcove off of Park Avenue in Winter Park.
Excellent food. Was celebrating a birthday and everything went seem less. Food was spot on, had the tuna appetizer, French onion soup, and the filet. Our guest had the salmon w lobster sauce. Everything was Delish!
The food, selection, atmosphere, staff were all fabulous! We couldn't have chosen a better place to get together with out of town family and friends. The creme brûlée was the best ever!!!
This was a very bad experience. We selected a French Sauvignon Blanc wine. I believe we were served a Chardonnay. I ordered Flounder which was completely tasteless. It was served with asparagus which was overcooked to the point of being mushy. I reported this our waiter who said that he gets that comment about their vegetables. My companion ordered a chicken dish which was overwhelmed with too much of a very heavy sauce and was served lukewarm. All in all a very disappointing evening.
My wife and I always have a great time eating outside. 😄😄😄
I wish I could find more option on the menu. I had a veggie portovello Burger with aguacado, it was delicious but that was about it. Strong drinks tho, which I loved.
A once vibrant restaurant moved from an old shopping center on Aloma Ave to a hidden alcove in Winter Park. We have enjoyed the restaurant for a number of years, but it feels a bit tired and out of the mainstream of downtown Winter Park. If you are tired of all the crowds, noise and dogs on the Avenue, then this place might be for you. If you are looking for a fun night with some nightlife, noise, and other people, then perhaps this is not the place. Very good food and excellent service, but a bit quiet and hidden for me.
We had a gift card for Paris Bistro. The location is within a shopping area so the view outside is of a beauty store and could have a better ambiance. Inside there is a nice romantic decor and atmosphere. The food was very good and the portions were perfect. The bananas foster was delicious. Overall for 2 people (starters, entrees, dessert and a bottle of wine) the bill was reasonable.
My wife and I had a terrific time eating on the sidewalk. Our waiter was awesome and the food was really good.
My husband and I really like French food. After a lovely French cocktail, Kir Royale, and some nice choices of wine, we were a little disappointed that the restaurant wouldn't be serving pate. However, the carpaccio and tuna/avocado tartare were delicious! The veal normandie was nothing special but the pesto encrusted salmon was amazing. Our waiter, who was new to Winter Park, couldn't have been nicer or more attentive- we will definitely go back next time we are in the area.
Very charming place , located in heart of park ave. romantic indeed!
Very reasonably priced menu with a nice wine selection. Authentic Parisian atmosphere.
The waiter was missing in action the entire time we were there. The French toast was burnt!!! the eggs were overcooked and the hot tea was never refilled after the water got cold. I will never return!!!
