We were celebrating friendship and birthdays and our food and as phenomenal, the ambience divine and service perfect.
Extremely disappointing for a mid tier restaurant, disaster for higher end restaurant,
Had to ask for silverware napkins twice, even after bread and soup was delivered. A steak was ordered and they didn't ask preference on doneness, duck was good, but obviously overdone and dry (how do you get a dry duck?!).
The worst though was a member of our party had a shellfish allergy and expected just to have a soup or salad but was told flat out by the waitress they can't say ANYTHING would not be cross contaminated. So she had a few macron while the rest of us ate. (I offered to go elsewhere but she declined as we had wine already).
Very disappointing.
Positives: Good wine and cocktails
Wonderful! Great service, amazing food, and just a really cool and romantic experience. We got the filet, and it was cooked to perfection in an authentic Parisian style. Highly recommend... Will definitely be back!
Our first dinner out since the pandemic. We planned for an early weekday dinner to avoid too many other diners. It was perfect. Only one other couple on the patio. Felt very safe there. Our server was awesome! She took care of our every need but was not hovering over us. Food was delicious as always. So glad we chose Paris 66 to celebrate our 43 anniversary.
Nice atmosphere, and great food. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great food; just too expensive. They changed menu/ made extras a la carte
Cute intimate setting with extremely friendly, prompt service..... food was excellent! Will definitely return.
A nice return visit to Paris 66. We had the liver and the Filet of beef entrees. Both were delicious. We split the butter and sugar crepes. Excellent! Our server "De" was attentive and very helpful.
as always, the food and service were excellent. Kir was the best, and the food exceptional
Excellent. Authentic, as someone who has visited Paris both on business and on vacation more than two dozen times.
The Staff was excellent, the food could not have been better and the wine was perfect. We spoke briefly with the owner as he came tot he tables to check on the guests; that doesn't happen in a lot of restaurants. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Great to get back to the restaurant again. As usual, the ambiance was nice and the food solid as usual. Server was less than engaging and almost rude - didn’t feel welcome at all. Only irritant was that the server recommended the crêpe Suzette for dessert which we ordered – only told that because they were busy they were able to make it for us so left without dessert...
Very sweet server
What a wonderful and surprising experience to step into Paris 66 and get a taste of France in the middle of Pittsburgh. The service was excellent. The croissants took me back to Paris. The crepes were authentic. The cappuccino was perfectly prepared. I enjoyed my omelet. If you are missing international travel OR you wonder what it would be like to dine in Paris, Please visit Paris 66. You won't be disappointed!!
Delicious food. Wonderful ambiance. I’ll definitely be dining there again.
Great FRENCH onion soup. All foods had very good flavors. Excellent service. First time there and plan to go back
Wonderful host, great service and food! perfect sunday lunch!
It took like 90 mins to receive the food we ordered despite that we were told 3x that the food would be out shortly. There was no explanation but an apology. None of it helped the date. I doubt I will go back.
Bonjour Henry, Thank you for taking the time to write. We were understaff last Saturday evening and I explained to every guest that the wait will be very long, unfortunately. I am not trying to make an excuse but this will not happen again. I hope you can give us another chance. Merci et a bientot! Frederic Rongier, Proprietor.
Paris66 in a neat experience.
The food was good. We ate in the enclosed patio area. The escargot was amazing. I don’t usually order trout but it was great and the beef tartare was too. Def recommend the creme brûlée for dessert
This place is wonderful. We were very pleased with all service. Staff is friendly, polity and knowledgeable. A wonderful selection of wines and great cocktails. They offer brunch, which I am going to definitely try pretty soon. I highly recommend this bistro for every special occasion with family, friends or colleagues.
We wanted to try this after seeing its charming vibe. The owner is hands-on cooking and running the restaurant, and a very friendly gentilhomme. The problem is, service was pretty bad and uncoordinated the Saturday night we went. Long wait times between server attention, wrong food delivered twice. Dessert menu laid out, but it was 15 minutes (at least) before the server returned -- our minds had changed. Our intended meals (trout and mussels) were just so-so. Sauces and treatments were nothing to write home about. This is forgiveable in a "$$" restaurant, but NOT in a "$$$$" restaurant.
Foie gras torchon was good. Trout was well prepared, and a generous portion, but a bit bland for me. Maitre'd / owner was rushing his servers trying to get us out, but we had a reservation. People were standing at the front of the restaurant closely together in a line that was too close for social-distancing protocols, but it was very cold outside. Nice, but nothing to write home about. Not worth the higher prices. Would not go back.
Friendly staff and great service
Food was mediocre and costly
Amazing date! They were very kind to go the extra mile
Absolute 5 star dining experience! By far the most delicious and incredible food I’ve ever had in Pittsburgh.
The food we ate: fois gras, soupe à l’oignon, filet mignon, moules-frites Roquefort, gratin dauphinois, and the chèvre salad for our first two courses and for dessert we had a lovely strawberry mousse heart and crème brûlée. I can’t think of a single criticism for any of the foods we tried. We are so excited to come back and try more of the menu!
The drinks: absolutely lovely selection of wines, spirits, aperitifs, and digestifs! I had the Amourette (French) martini and my partner had the lychee martini. To die for! The kir royale was a fantastic aperitif that was a great precursor to all of our food selections.
The atmosphere is lovely and cozy. You walk in by the bakery section and are greeted with the enthralling smell of delicious pastries. There’s some indoor seating and a lovely, covered/insulated patio area at the back (where we sat). We ate here in mid February and with the help of some tall heat lamps, it was the perfect temperature out there. The whole place is very ambient and has lovely French decor. All the staff were fantastic and incredibly nice. We cannot wait to return.
The lamb shank was outstanding! I tasted my husband’s and immediately regretted not ordering it myself, although my filet was also very good. I hope to dine there again.
Great “date night” restaurant. Felt like a bistro in Paris.
Wonderful French bistro and our go to place for great cuisine. Never feel rushed and food is great. The escargot is incredible - order extra bread to dip in the butter!
Overall good experience. Potatoes were a bit overdone and a bit burnt and hard but other than that was delicious.
Heater outside was not that goid
The restaurant was very nice and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was authentic and delicious.
Love this place! Everything literally was prefect.
Easily the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant.
After waiting an hour for our food, most of our dishes arrived cold. Our waitress promised to bring over the manager (who is also the owner) so that we could inform him that this was the case and hopefully correct it in the future for other customers.
When the owner arrived at our table, his demeanor was incredibly combative. My fiance informed him that our food was cold and he dismissively stated that he doesn't use heat lamps and to deal with it. When she pressed the issue further and attempted to explain that serving cold filet mignon at $40 is unacceptable, he began to talk over her. At one point, he mimicked her accent and put his hands on his hips in an attempt to demean and embarrass her.
We continued to exchange verbal insults with each other as we paid our way out, spending several hundred dollars on cold food delivered by an egotistical child. His own employees took notice and were appreciative of us speaking up. One of the individuals came out and give us fist bumps for what we said and exclaimed that it "was awesome" and that he was a "horrible person".
Thankfully, my fiance can find happiness in anything and the owner didn't ruin her 31st birthday. This will become a hilarious tale for us to repeat.
The testament to a great meal is that we were at another restaurant the next evening and spent 10 min talking about our meal at Paris 66 instead of the dinner in front of us. We had traditional brunch fare (onion soup, quiche, several egg dishes). Every dish was beautifully very traditionally presented. The drinks, desserts and coffee were also on par with what you'd hope for in an upscale bistro setting. If you go, don't skip the quiche - it was the best I've had and I grew up on French food. We gave 4 stars for atmosphere and service, which is fine. But the food was the standout.
As always, the entire experience was very "Paris-like"! Staff is friendly and helpful, the owner is always attentive, and the food and wine....Tres Magnifique! A wonderful experience in Pittsburgh while we await the opportunity to return to Paris for a visit.
The food and service are both fantastic. I have yet to order something I didn't like. The french onion soup is my favorite I have tried anywhere so far!
We always have a great experience here but this last time the service could have been much better. Can’t wait to go back though!
The restaurant is very reminiscent of a bistro in Paris. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We were there for restaurant week and the meal was amazing. This was the best French onion soup that I’ve had in years. The trout was not what I was expecting and that made it even better. The dessert was a fabulous crème brûlée, which is by far my favorite dessert and if I ever see it on a menu I have to order it. Overall I cannot think of one thing that I did not like, it was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish, we will be back.
The menu was limited. Well, it is Covid and all. Not sure how it compares to non-covid times as this was my first visit.
