About Parc

Stephen Starr's stylish addition to Rittenhouse Square pays tribute to French cafe culture, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, ideal for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. Parc recalls the chic brasseries of Paris, serving classic French fare in a charming space. Red leather banquettes topped with frosted glass provide a sense of intimacy. Details such as well-worn wooden chairs, vintage framed paintings and photos and antique brass fixtures transport guests across the Atlantic. French doors spill onto a sidewalk terrace covered by a dark red awning perfect for dining "en plein air." Reservations are not accepted for outdoor tables.

Our meals were delicious however our waitress disappeared for a long time once our food came. Our seat was in a very busy area and way too loud.

Wonderful French food even though they are not French! Stephen Starr is a brilliant restauranteur. Love, love, love this place! And we did not even get to eat outside. Will be back and try that in nicer weather. This place was hopping at lunchtime with people pouring in--and it's big!

Had French onion soup(good) and hubby had mushroom soup(even better). He had chicken curry salad sandwich and loved it. I had shrimp salad which was a nice salad with a warm shrimp scampi style entree on the plate next to the salad. The shrimp were large and fresh and probably the best I have ever had(and I buy fresh shrimp at Whole Foods a lot). I asked the very nice waiter what the sauce on them was and he said 'buerre blanc with truffle sauce". Oh my God.

The fresh warm bread was unbelievable. Dessert: profiteroles. Lovely eclaires with ice cream in the middle with hot real chocolate sauce that the waiter poured over them. We had to waddle 6 or 7 blocks to the Kimmel to watch the Phila Orchestra afterward thank God or we would have just taken a nap right there.

I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant. Having been to France, he recreated a restaurant in the French vision beautifully. Everything was perfect. And we are pretty fussy. But we recognize excellence and this place has it in spades.

Great work everyone who works there -waiting tables, bussing, delivering the bread, cooking, cleaning, managing--we appreciate you all!

We went for the first time for our anniversary. The food was amazing. Our server made excellent suggestions. We chose the escargot and mushroom tarte for appetizers, beef Bourginon and steak au poivre for entrees and dessert was hazelnut mousse and an apple tart tatin. All were excellent. Service was attentive and responsive but not intrusive.

I had the trout and it was fabulous. I couldn't eat nuts, so they modified the prep to accomodate me and it was still delicious. My wife had New York Strip that was surprisingly tough. We've been to Parc several times and this was the first time either of us had anything that was unsatisfactory. We won't stop going, though! Still one of our favorite restaurants in Philly. They make you feel special and I love that.

Great food as usual. Their cuisine is spot on and consistent every time and very, very reasonably priced for the quality. This is the reason it is the number one spot in Center City Philly year over year. The only dark spot of the evening was our primary server. She was not welcoming or cordial in the least. She almost made us feel like we were an inconvenience to her. Never a smile, a thank you, or anything. Time for her to look for a new job where social skills are not a factor. Parc deserves better because it is a fantastic restaurant, we have never had a bad meal here.

Great French bistro with a location to match in Center City Philadelphia. The food is very good, and the bread is outstanding. The wine list is, unfortunately, terribly overpriced, though certainly extensive. It's absurd to think that the only acceptable bottle of wine for a bistro meal should cost a minimum of $50 (47, to be exact). Where are the table wines to go with the rest of the feel of the place.

Still, it's a great place for lunch or dinner.

Parc is so consistent it makes it a pleasure to dine there. It has all the French staples and each one is a treat. The bread is amazing. Four of us dined at Parc for dinner. Once again we were not disappointed! The food here is outstanding! A creative French menu that is delicious. We shared the day’s special of lobster risotto. The lobster was cooked perfectly, generously sized pieces and the broth was so flavorful! Our entree selections were the duck, lamb shank, beef bourguignon and roasted chicken. Each dish was cooked perfectly and were delicious!

Parc is always a solid choice. The food is good and the vibe is energetic and urban. The staff is usually proficient and pleasant. That’s why my experience at lunch today stands out. Our service was subpar. The waiter seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but where he was. Made no effort to connect and lacked any sense of humor. But even worse was the fact that he disappeared after coffee was served for what seemed like awhile. My guest had to get back to work, so I was sitting alone. Finally the waiter reappeared with the check then disappeared again. When finally I had to ask another waiter to bring me change for the bill. That waiter returned with my change and I thanked him to which he had no response. Not my usual experience here. Disappointing.

Noisy. Staff were not responsive to our request to change seat. We were seated by bar with guests at the bar pushing up into our space.

We dined at Parc for Sunday morning brunch. Made reservations a week in advance and they were surprisingly somewhat booked - it's definitely not a restaurant you can walk into and expect to get seated. That being said, we were seated immediately and had a nice table by the window. We were NOT 12" from people on either side, which is the case in many restaurants in the city. We both had cocktails ($13/each - a little on the steep side). I had the Salmon Tartine, my mom - Egss Benidict - both were delectable! For dessert - Creme Brulee, also very tasty.

Complaints - our waiter (Josh?) had a bit of a tude. He did not ask if we wanted dessert and put the check on our table - when we asked to see the dessert menu, he snatched the check and seemed so unbelievably irritated....don't know whats up with that. Definitely not trying to pay $100 for brunch and an attitude on the side. It's also noisy inside because its a popular place.

This is a lovely restaurant with a view of Rittenhouse Square. Food and service were excellent. Tables are a bit jammed in (especially along front window where tables for 2 are small and the chairs abut each other). Fairly noisy. Wine list does not have good moderate price (<$50) choices although they had a house blend carafe we did not try

Went for my daughter's birthday brunch. I had not been for quite a while. I had the mushroom soup and she had the French onion soup. Both were fabulous (and I try lots of onion soups in Philly). I then had the moules frites. There were a huge number of mussels in this order and all delicious. The french fires were shoestring type, which I love and equally delicious. My daughter had the Salade Lyonnaise, which she loved as well.

Even though we were totally full, we ordered dessert: speculoos ice cream and creme brulee. In addition, for her birthday, they brought out macarons with a candle, a very nice touch.
Everything from the food, the ambiance and the service (Brendan our waiter was great!), was perfect. I will be back again in the near future.

We've been there for our anniversary. service, food, seating was amazing. We even received complimentary champagne toast. Duck in orange was spectacular. So was the chocolate dessert- a real must. We've been to Paris and this restaurant truely resembles Parisian restaurants' ambiance.
