Paravicinis Italian Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Whenever we are in Colorado Springs, we must go to Paravicinis. It is our go-to restaurant for dinner ... absolutely! My favorite dish is the Veal Tuscano. The meat is always super tender and the flavors are perfect. I am just realizing I have had this dish many times and it has always met my expctations.
The staff is very friendly and the owner has often stopped by to check on things. Service is efficient, so you can be in and out in a reasonable length of time, but we have never felt rushed, so you can linger a bit if you wish.
I have often recommended Paravicinis and will continue to do so.
This place is ALWAYS amazing! Best Italian food within 100 miles. The "Chicken Carsoni" is exclusive to the restaurant and is one of their best dishes. For the Veal Parm, get the Vodka sauce. They know their wine also. One of the best restaurants in the Springs.
I am SO DISAPPOINTED with the staff at Paravincini’s. My family knew and became friends with Franco and Ted when they both worked at Bucco di Peppos. We were there for them on opening day when they started Paravincini’s and have booked countless special occasions, dinners, functions , work events and family celebrations since then. I moved away and recently came back to visit family and friends over Thanksgiving. I knew right away a family reunion dinner was to be held at Paravincini’s. I called not once but TWICE to confirm our reservations and make sure we had the back room reserved for 14 people because we would have privacy and it would not be SO NOISEY! There were two gentlemen in our party with hearing problems so I knew they wouldn’t hear in the main rooms. When we got to the restaurant we were told people were still sitting at the table for over two hours. We waited quite a long time to be seated. There is no place for 14 people to stand! Then when we were ready to be seated it was in the front dining room!!! I said we have the back room and was promptly told it doesn’t hold 14!!! I was NEVER told that when I confirmed twice. As it turned out we only had 12 which would of worked. But no, they gave it to someone else. No phone call to tell me of the decision to move us. I would of went somewhere else so my family member and friend could hear. Those two were miserable because they couldn’t hear and therefore did not enjoy themselves. I am sad that a place I use to feel welcomed in, has gotten too big for that homey feeling.
On the bright side, our waitress was nice and did her best. You know it would of not killed them to send over a bottle of wine or something!
We called an hour ahead to see if our table was available half an hour early. We were told that the table that was reserved for us was currently almost done with their entrees, and probably so but couldn’t be guaranteed. Understandably, we were told we could come ahead and if weren’t ready that we could have drinks and appetizers at their bar area.
Upon arrival there were many people crowded around the small waiting area. We were told that our table wasn’t ready. There was no offer of bar seating or other options to wait. So we waited until our original seating time, still nothing. So I asked if I could go ahead and get a drink from the bar. The bartender was excellent, and went out of his way to assist me.
As I returned back to the small waiting area, the crowd had grown and there was little room to sit or be comfortable. At 15 minutes past our reservation time I approached the hostess, asking if we were close to being sat. The hostess’s stated that our “table” had been cashed out for half an hour but had not departed. We then watched the next 3 couples be immediately sat. I once again approached the hostess stand and was told that we’d be seated shortly. Finally we were, with a promise that we’d have a complimentary appetizer.
Our server was pleasant. We ordered our appetizer immediately, followed by salads and our entrees. Our meal was pleasant with our server checking back periodically.
Upon completion of our meal, we asked for boxes and a check, which to me is a clear indication that we were ready to leave ASAP. The check was incorrect and did not reflect our compd appetizer. We still had not received our boxes, and I️t appeared that our server was busy with another party. I️t seemed to take a long time to get the last part of service in order for us to leave.
Arrived on time and was told my table wasn't ready. 3 couples arrived after me and stated they had reservations at the same time as me. They were promptly seated as I was still waiting. to They were seated at their tables with just two people. When I brought this up to the staff , they said it didn't happen. I guess you need to be somebody to be treated fairly. So, if you aren't "somebody", choose to eat elsewhere!
3 of 5 meals were only Luke warm. None of us liked the salad. Bread was fantastic. Calamari was really good. My daughter has been there before for dinner and loved it. She got the same thing but didn’t think it was as good this time especially since food was not hot. I’m not sure we’ll go back or recommend to others.
Heard really great things about this spot. The appetizer was fantastic (pesto and mushroom bruschetta). My main dish was not great (shrimp scampi puttanesca) I had to add quite a bit of salt, and I'm not a bit salt person. The tiramisu was great though. Service was good. I'll definitely go back, I'll just get a different dish.
