Parallel 37 Ratings and Reviews
Simply wonderful birthday lunch for my daughter. The food is amazing and the service impeccable. Our waiter attended to our every need and brought my daughter a glass of champagne and lovely chocolate cake with a candle. Just cannot day enough good things about this restaurant. We will definitely be back.
Sleeper Alert! We were blown away by the creativity, quality, and outstanding value at Parallel 37. The 3 course menu for 65 bucks was a steal. We got the butternut-lobster soup and the garganelli pasta for appetizers, and the duck breast and the lamb for entrees. All were beautiful and perfect in every way. So were the desserts. Service was also top notch. To make it all even better, we were able to get a reservation on a Saturday afternoon for a table that evening at 730. How can that be? This place is a total sleeper. I will be going back as much as possible before it gets too popular.
Just when I think chef Michael Rotondo cannot out do himself, he proves me wrong! I am baffled at how creative he is and the flavors all meld and complement each other. The textures also make the dishes very interesting.
He served up the most incredible 5 course meal this past Saturday.
We had been to BIX, the evening prior and though the food was good, Michael blew them out of the water with his creations.
People, if you have never experienced a dinner at Parallel 37, you are missing out on the best culinary experiences in the city!
This is a very nice restaurant. The decor is a sleek and modern with a slight rustic component. The ambiance is nice and cozy. The service is attentive. The food was excellent. There are choices if you are vegetarian, which is a big plus. The wine list is extensive. The drink/wine list is presented on iPad, which I thought was a nice touch. Overall I was very happy with my experience.
I thought the Brunch menu was underwhelming. It was very Marriott business hotel level of food quality. Americano coffee was mediocre. The eggs for the eggs Benedict were not organic and the bread was overly sour. The Benedict was essentially flavorless.
Service was OK, but definitely lacked the level of attention that I remember a Ritz Carlton having before they were bought by the Marriott.
I won't be returning for Brunch as it is just not worth it. No major redeeming qualities of the restaurant environment to warrant a return given the options in San Francisco with superior food and ambiance.
We dined at Parallel 37 a few weeks ago for my birthday. It was our first time at the restaurant and we were blown away. The 5 course summer menu was amazing, from the bread served with piped butter rosettes, all the way through dessert. Chef Rotondo's menu is artfully plated and the courses had a very nice balance of flavors, textures, and ingredients. Everything was sooo delicious. My favorite was probably the main course, of aged beef, with four types of mushrooms, a swoosh of smoked spinach sauce along with béarnaise. Our server Zack (?) was great. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menus; his recommendations of cocktails and wine were spot on. I highly recommend Parallel 37.
We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton for a week, and planned to sample a number of restaurants for breakfast. The food, the service, and the ambiance of 37 kept us in house. Everyone raved about it--including our daughter, a millennial who eats at hotel restaurants under quiet protest. I had the smoked salmon three days--the best I've had anywhere.
We were guests at the Ritz where the restaurant is located, and we were celebrating our 30th Anniversary. The wait staff treated us attentively, explained the unique cuisine selections well, and were very professional but in a casual way. The food was excellent and creative, but the atmosphere was just ok. It was a Tuesday night and we were only one of no more than 5 or 6 tables occupied. Much more casual than the typical Ritz dining room, but very good.
We had the pleasure of being served by Justin. He is an incredibly talented server and we enjoyed sampling many different dishes with his help to choose. Every dish was delicious. From the bone in rib eye to the black cod. It is an exquisite experience!!
The food was delicious and the service was attentive without being cloying. The artisanal cocktails were delicious and the wine list was excellent. The decor was a bit stark. The restaurant was not crowded so it was lovely and quiet.
THE BEST BURGER EVER! So delicious. Dan was an amazing server / bar-tender. We chatted with the couple across the bar. A glass (or 2) of Ramey really hit the spot! A fun place in a really nice hotel!!! I highly recommend it!!!
