I had booked through opentable at 2pm but actually the restaurant was unable to serve us dîner and proposed only the bar menu and no table
We have never regretted to go to Parallel 37 in terms of the food, the service and atmosphere.
We use it for everyday dining, special occasions, business occasions and inviting oversees friends.
We dined aftr several months absence, we totally enjoyed for the food, professional service and wonderful atmosphere.
The chef's menu was great but the service was very sub standard. Will not be dining here again.
Better than I expected. Tasty Classic food. Miss some fusion. No details. Nothing special
We dine at Parallel 37 regularly. The service is always outstanding. The food is usually excellent. I loved the butternut squash soup (appetizer) and the scallops (entree). However, I was extremely disappointed with the desserts though. I’ve never sent back a dessert, but I found two of the desserts to be tasteless, poor presentation, and bad quality. I asked if they had a new pastry chef, and we were told no. But I was very disappointed in the dessert selections.
Our food was excellent but the wine selections were outrageously expensive. Definitely,
designed for a business account.
We always like to celebrate our special occasions at Parallel37. Chef Michael always prepares the most delicious and amazing meals for us.
It is always a pleasure dining here. The staff are amazing ladies and gentlemen and truly makes the dining experience here, unforgettable.
Great food! Lovely dining room. We’ll definitely be back!
Octopus was awesome. Wine selection is incredible.
Inside the Ritz, I had high hopes for Valentine's and the restaurant didn't disappoint. Their Prix Fix menu was worthy of a Michelin star. Great service as well. Great wine selection.
However... On the way out, and this isn't part of the restaurant review, as we were picking up our car from the valet, a 5 dollar bill dropped out of my pocket. Valet took it, didn't return it. I saw him do it but wife asked me to let it go. Very unpleasant!
Overall very well presented. But, the food and service is not exactly what we would have expected for a 700 dollar meal for two.
Nice discovery. Excellent food and service. Zach was a gem! We will return and will friends this time.
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel restaurant.
The pre fix menu is a good value and the portions substantial. And most importantly, tasty. I think we will return soon to try the Chef’s tasting menu.
our waiter was incredible great service, good value sadly my steak was very chewy even though it was rare. sad
The tasting menu was an appetizer, main and dessert for $65, and you get to pick off of the main menu. Unbelievable steal, considering the price of each item if purchased separately. The portions were generous as well.
My salmon was undercooked. Other than that everything was fantastic.
Everything was perfect as usual. However, upon check in at the front desk at Parallel 37 restaurant the hostess told us that the restaurant was closed. I looked at my watch and it was 9:08 PM. I told her I had a 9:15 PM reservation on Open Table and again she shook her head and said the restaurant was closed. I said can I speak to a manager and she walked away and came back and reluctantly seated us. The rest of our dining experience was perfect and outstanding with the exception of the front desk hiccup.
We had a party of 6 and the restaurant was not crowded and the service was ridiculously slow. But since the gratuity of 20% was already added they got a great tip for terrible service.
Great family dining deal of short ribs that served the three of us for $115. Very nice wine offering and priced appropriately. Very attentive service and noise level was quiet so that we could have meaningful discussions. Valet Parking validated for $15.
Very high noise levels, difficult to have a conversation. Good food but modest wine list.
Very mice space however not worth $90 for brunch. Variety was ok but not what other buffet brunch at high end hotels would serve for less money. Very attentive waiter and friendly staff which made it good overall experience.
The food was absolutely delicious! The carrots salad unbelievable, and the desert was out of this world. Great service. Will definitely come back.
Excellent ambiance and amazing service, good food.
We went here for my fiances 30th birthday dinner. We did the 3 course meal for $65 a person. We brought 2 bottles of wine did not charge corkage. Was a fantastic meal will definitely be back.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Nice atmosphere—-quiet and pleasant.
Went for Christmas day dinner. Food tends to be overseaoned and/or there are too many flavours on the plate to allow natural flavours to shine through. Tables were pretty close together.
We chose Parallel 37 for our Christmas dinner and it was an enormous disappointment. The meal cost us $536 for 3 adults and one child!! 2 adults had only a salad and the duck entree with paired wines. No desserts. The salad was lovely but the duck was not enjoyable. The 3rd adult drank no wines at all. The value was simply not worth it on any count.
The dining room was extremely noisy, cramped and had the feel of your average motel dining room. Such poor value for the price. We would not return nor recommend the restaurant.
We went to Parallel 37 at the Ritz for our family Christmas Eve brunch and it was pretty close to perfect. We were 5 adults, 1 toddler and 1 newborn, and the restaurant and staff were so accommodating and helpful -- from placing us at a table near a space to keep the stroller handy, to providing extra plates, highchair, and letting us partake of the buffet to share with the kids. It made this mom of 2 able to actually enjoy herself without having to be hyper on alert the whole time. The buffet menu was delicious, tastefully thought out, and nearly everything was spot on flavor-wise. Steak tartare with caviar, delightful horseradish foam/mousse accompanying the tenderloin, perfectly poached shrimp, and lobster benedict were high points. Highly recommend Parallel 37 for a special occasion outing or the brunch buffet. Beautiful decor and a great dining experience.
We had an enjoyable breakfast here -- the main restaurant of Ritz Carlton San Francisco -- on December 19th. Customer service was exceptionally high quality and the breakfast/brunch buffet was beautiful and delicious. A great experience overall. As a plus, the hotel had interior and exterior Christmas decorations that made it extra lovely.
We keep returning to Parallel 37 because we are always completely satisfied with our experience. The food is phenominal and the service is 5star. Outstanding bites during this last visit included an amazing octopus appetizer, a crazy good black cod main dish and a carmel orange dessert that made my husbands eyes roll back in his head.
Food was delicious, staff very attentive. The setting/ambiance left me feeling cold - it almost felt like a cafeteria. Very noisy - was not what I expected.
My wife and I got a hotel in the city to have a nice Christmas dinner and see the Nutcracker ballet. The ballet was beautiful but I will never know how dinner would have been. They somehow didn't have our reservation although we had emails and text confirmations. I don't know if it was OpenTable or the restaurant, but my wife and I don't get many nights off and one of you absolutely ruined our Christmas dinner
We have been going to the Ritz for a holiday lunch for 18 years. We sit in the bar and have burgers and an outrageous bottle of wine. The waitstaff is usually incredibly nice and knowledgeable and generally recognize us since we live close by. The woman behind the bar today was probably the worst service we’ve ever had. She was just rude and somehow bothered yet we were the only ones at the bar. There was no sommelier working so we asked her advice to which she replied “I have no idea”. We ordered two glasses of Kistler Chardonnay which took 10-15 minutes while we waited for a 2007 Araujo we ordered to breath. The women forgot to order the Araujo and delivered our burgers. We asked about the wine and she said she had to go to the cellar to get it so we asked if they could hold off on the burgers as we weren’t in a rush and they were just a compliment to the wine we ordered. They put the burgers under a heat lamp so they were super dry and burnt on top when they brought them back 10 min later (sans accoutrements like their homemade ketchup) jams just opened the bottle of Wine and poured it instead of decanting it. I realize complaining about a $600 lunch for 2 people is a first world problem but this is our one special tradition every year and has always been an incredible time at the Ritz. This makes me want to find a new spot for next year.
This truly is a neighborhood gem. A perfect place for a quiet date or a night out with girlfriends. Our server Zach gave us great recommendations for food as well as wine pairings. The food was absolutely amazing! I look forward to my next visit to Parallel 37!
A pleasant surprise when looking for a restaurant near Masonic Auditorium on Nob Hill. Pricey, but will go again for a nice occasion. The best scallops I've ever eaten. Beautiful dessert. Wait staff was friendly and informative. Pretty interior design. Overall a great experience.
Very nice staff members. However, sevice didn’t match the room.
Disappointing meal for Thanksgiving. Started well enough with Dom by the glass - Yeah! The butternut squash soup - why is everybody doing butternut squash soup this year? - was fine, with some Christmas spices for accent. A salad was fine, nothing special. A black truffle gnocchi appetizer with braised short rib and miniscule. Kind of embarrassing for a $150 meal.
The Turkey was pedestrian at best. Lacking flavor and inspiration, the dish and sides came across like a catering dish. Really, the meat was flavorless, and some of it was tough. Gravy - bland. Stuffing was gritty and dull. Roasted carrots lacked freshness and sweetness - dull. Only the mashed potatoes - a minor nod to Robechon with the amount of butter - stood apart.
Honestly, when you go to the Ritz for a special occasion, you should expect the kitchen to rise to the occasion and innovate. It was very sad to see no inspiration to elevate the mundane bird. I do way better at home because I am inspired to excel. But not from this kitchen. So sad!
Dined here for Thanksgiving, would not recommend- not prepared for the crowd, bad dessert and no bread when every other table had bread - very disappointed.
Outstanding service and very gracious about accommodating special food prep requests. Best customer centric staff .
Simply wonderful birthday lunch for my daughter. The food is amazing and the service impeccable. Our waiter attended to our every need and brought my daughter a glass of champagne and lovely chocolate cake with a candle. Just cannot day enough good things about this restaurant. We will definitely be back.
