Seafood dishes headline the experience at Paralia. With chef Chris Kalisperas leading the charge, this eating outpost serves an expansive selection of fish and seafood cuisine, prepared with the freshest ingredients for the best flavor. The menu also features rotisserie chicken and lamb dishes alongside fresh salad and delicious sides. Beer, cocktails and wine round off the drink list.
Paralia's lively ambiance combined with its stylish décor makes it a popular pick for many residents. This restaurant offers several specials, including happy hour daily deals. Paralia's facilities include a bar and lounge area, a banquet hall and outdoor dining for guests who wish to dine alfresco. The restaurant also boasts several private dining rooms, so guests can enjoy a delicious Greek experience at their next event, without having to leave the room.
i was disappointed that there are only Greek wines on the menu. I understand that it is a Greek restaurant but surely local wines could also be offered. They would be less expensive and of a much better quality.
Although the food was good, I was astounded at the price! Had I realized how much this meal would cost, I would NEVER have gone.
I recommended this restaurant to 2 other couples as a place for us to go. I had heard that the food was good and it was BUT it was definitely not worth the price. We have been to equally good fish restaurants that were not nearly as pricey.
In addition, they have a promotion going on that their Greek wines are half price during this month. It said so on the wine list. We thought that was very reasonable given that their wine list is super expensive. We ordered wine that was reasonably drinkable. When the bill came, we saw that the prices listed on the wine list were the reduced prices rather than the regular prices that we thought. No where on the list did it clarify that these were the prices that would be charged. We were absolutely shocked! After speaking with the manager, we did come to a reasonable resolution given the mix up but this should never have happened in the first place.
As I said, the food and the service were very good but be warned that the prices are sky high.
Great service, very knowledgeable server on wine. Slightly pricey, but quality speaks for itself. Great for light dinner.
Had a wonderful dinner on OCTOBER 31. ( note to all- if you are able, it's a great night to try a new, hot restaurant)
The service was understandably terrific as the ratio of staff to customers was fantastic in our favour.
However, the food was absolutely delicious also and that had nothing to do with number of customer.
We will definetly be going back,
Paralia has a great environment and terrific food. Prices are high and beyond regular visits for us. I worry they will survive the winter months when the great views are less compelling.
Went on a rainy day but still loved the feel of the restaurant. The server was really nice as well as everybody else who worked at the restaurant. I definitely can't wait to come back in the summer time on a hot sunny day! You would literally feel like you were in Greece!
As a restaurant that prides itself on their amazing selection of fish... They ran out of fish!
We were left with a choice of 3 small pieces of halibut they had left, of which our table of 10 took one, and were provided with one overcooked piece of halibut to share morsels of!
The server was amazing! Very passionate about his job and did very well with what he had to work with.
Very warm welcome at the door by the hostess and our waitress is very knowledgeable and have recommended one of their top selling salad to us. They also have a wide selection for wine and the food is just excellent! Last but not least, LOVE the way the restaurant was decor! We feel like we were in Greece during our visit!
Everything was perfect.. Good location on the beach, lots of different seafood plate, the tzatziki was great and the half chicken too!! Good wines selection! Great evening
I was disappointed because I really liked the food at Trinity in Montreal - the decor and ambiance were fantastic, there was a nice buzz, but the food was not great, and pricey for what it was. The calamari appetizer had too much breading, artificial tasting seasoning and the squid texture made me wonder if this was a frozen appetizer from Costco. The lamb was worse: overcooked chunks of tough, chewy meat. We didn't eat it and pointed it out to the server but no one came to our table and it was not removed from our bill. We had two bottles of wine and tried several dishes so we had a hefty bill for what was not a very memorable meal.
Our waiter John was magnificent! OUTSTANDING service!
The food however could be better... excellent presentation, but for the price point of this place, it should leave you at WOW! It didn't.... disappointed. We were a large group- Ordered- Fish, Lamb, Chicken (which tasted the best), Shrimp, Rice, Potatoes, Mushrooms, etc (you get the idea) so we had a great sample of all the food the place has to offer!
Excellent ambiance, feels like you left Toronto, and the outdoor patio is amazing.
I had a large table and it was my duty to walk over the say 'HI' to the manager, who really wasn't doing much the entire night..... oh well. But John the waiter made up for the night service! Generally the staff were very accommodating and helpful!
I'll probably be back, just for the patio experience and ambiance.... and the chicken :-P
Absolutely enjoyed appetizers, salad and wine. This was my first visit to this restaurant with friends and we really enjoyed food and atmosphere. Positive energy, typical greek decor, friendly stuff really made evening to remember
Service is always perfect at Paralia, so especially when the associate manager is involved. Definitely will come back.
Good but , we felt very rushed!! Our mains came before we finished our apps. And it want even a busy night.
We have been to this restaurant a few times. My daughter is off to France for a school exchange plus we wanted to toast to my dad's upcoming BD before she leaves. We wanted a comfortable but memorable dinner before we head out to the airport. Paralia did the job perfectly. The food was consistently quite excellent. The server was friendly and professional (That was quite consistent too). The setting makes it easy to imagine you are enjoying a causal evening in Greece!
I celebrated my birthday at Paralia with a group of 7 friends. The ambiance was beautiful, the staff very welcoming and friendly, and the food was delicious. I am a seafood lover and this place is right at the top of seafood restaurants in Toronto. Our waiter, John, was excellent also. It was nice to see the fresh fish as soon as you walk into the restaurant. The only thing I would suggest is for them to play some traditional Greek music to compliment the experience. I wish I knew about Paralia earlier so I could've taken advantage of their beautiful patio overlooking Woodbine beach! Overall an amazing restaurant and I will definitely be back soon! Thanks Paralia!
Our entire experience at Paralia was a disappointment . It took 90 mins. for our main course to arrive. In all that time no staff member EVER came to our table to provide an explanation for the delay. Only after one of us left the table to find a manager were we told they burnt our fish and had to remake it! Promising to bring out the rest of our order immediately took another 10 mins and arrived lukewarm. At that point we cancelled the remainder of our order and left hungry. No sincere apology was ever received nor was any compensation offered. After confronting the manager upon our departure the only thing he offered was to make it up to us next time. This is truly insulting. There will never be a next time!
It's been a long time since I've been to a restaurant that had excellent service. And on top of that, the food was amazing!!!
I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful the restaurant was. It is all white washed with blue hues and beautiful decor. The inside is beautiful and quite large, the outdoor patio overlooks the beach and has a selection of tables and sofas with cushions. The Sangria was one of the best I have had. It was different with Lychees and a Cinnamon stick. The food was not great, but the lamb burger was good and the dips and pita were good. The waiter suggested a very expensive whole snapper and it was really fishy. I would come back to try some other dishes. It is a good place for a date or a large group as they can accommodate both. You can go for a stroll on the beach or boardwalk after your meal.
Fantastic food& ambiance. Truly felt like we were dining by the sea in Greece - so authentic in every way! Best grilled octopus ever - a must try!
ordered the seafood platter for $125....no taste to speak of (lacked seasoning of any kind, including salt) although the seafood was fresh. white wine is lovely. previous visit the octopus appetizer, shareable dips, and fried smelts impressed.
The ambiance of this restaurant is lovely especially on a beautiful summer evening when you can sit out on the patio. But it wouldn't appeal on a cold winter night when you want to be cozy and warm.
While the fish was good and fresh, the prices are outrageous so I didn't feel the value was there at all. And given the overall cost of the restaurant, I felt the service wasn't up to par. While I understand that the waitress had to take our order, did she have to always just interrupt the conversation that was happening at the table?
The setting cannot be beat, and the decor is definitely chic & cheerful. Prices are moderate, and the food was tasty. I particularly loved the fresh fish selection! Service, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. Our starters and main courses came at the same time, water was slow to be refilled, and I saw a waiter picking up a piece of cooked food from a plate to rearrange it with his own bare hand! Waiters/waitresses (3 came to our table) were largely inexperienced and practically had to be chase down to come and take our order... However, the bill came totally unasked for, as soon as the last plate came off the table... Disappointing.
Our dinner would have been great, but for the fact that despite a reservation we did not get a table on the patio or even near a window with a view to the outside. Incredibly disappointing as the whole reason for this restaurant choice was the view.
found this place and was even more impressed upon arrival and eating. Fantastic food, great decor and loved the outdoor seating. And if you get chilly they have heaters and/or can bring you a blanket!!
The food was excellent! The server was a little unfriendly to start but then made a adjustment in her attitude for the better. I will definitely go back for dinner if I'm ever in Toronto again!
Working in customer service myself I was expecting more of it at a restaurant like Paralia.
The server did not greet us or try to make small talk at any point during the time we were there. He seemed rather annoying to have to serve us maybe because my friend's son (6) and my daughter (8) were with us .
Although they behaved extremely well.
As soon as we finished our dinner he did not even ask if we wanted the bill or another drink just brought it right the way like he wanted us out of there as soon as possible.
The food was great and the restaurante is beautiful . The girl at the entrance was very friendly and polite.
I will never hire someone like that guy in any customer service role :(
The location of Paralia makes for a great outdoor dining experience, and if you can't get a table outside the dining room is quite nice.
We have been a few times and while we enjoy the food and vibe, the service varies from amazing (referring to our last visit) to indifferent (most of our previous visits).
And I find paying prices like $11 for a side of potatoes to be a little tough to swallow.
Food was good but not amazing. It is a bit pricey for the quality. Also the service was questionable. He pushed up to order out main courses at the time of the appetizers but then brought the mains before we had finished our appetizers - they were not very busy that night. I had the sea bream - only average. Great spot but the kitchen just isn't up to the price.
The food was very expensive, especially for the quality (or rather, lack of quality). The lamb was dry and overcooked, the fish was oily and not flavourful - it was rather tasteless. No sides were included with the inadequate meal, not even bread or pitas before the meal while waiting for food. My husband wasn't nearly full after his meal. The dumplings and the rice/spinach dishes were just ok. The maitre d' was excellent but the server was inattentive - was slow to wait on us and give us our drinks, never asked once how the meal was while we were eating it and didn't seem knowledgeable about the menu.
From the minute you walk into Paralia to the time you leave you will love every moment you are there.
The restaurant itself is beautiful. The ambiance and decor very European and high end.
The wait staff are amazingly professional: from their mannerisms towards their patrons, their knowledge of the menu and wine selection and their overall goal of making you satisfied by the time you leave is felt to be genuine.
The food me and my guests shared was delicious. We chose the halibut, with sides of mushroom, potato and rice/spinach. All were fantastic.
The wine suggestion made by our server was a white and it was perfect. I also had a glass of sangria which was made with proseco. Amazing! You must try it for yourself!!
Overall the night was great. All of us enjoyed and left commenting that we HAD to come back because it was so good.
Food was ok and very expensive, particularly for Greek food.
Ambiance was great. I felt as though I was in Europe.
I love sea food. If you share this passion with me. You should definitely try this place. The fish was super fresh and very tasty.
It is a bit pricy though. So you should considered for a special occasion like I did.
Really good service and very good looking specially when the sun goes down.
NOTE: they only have greek wines. You should consider that, but it is worth to try it.
A beautiful room and patio , a perfect setting
And the rest is downhill , food was very bland and uninspiring, and quite pricy for what we received ,
We had a group for dinner and sat outside. The patio is beautiful. I have been there before and sat inside, which is a very mediterranean atmosphere, very cool. We found the food excellent and the service just as excellent. I can't wait to get back!
Ever been to beaches in Europe and see a vibrant restaurant and bar scene along hte coast? This is what has been lacking in Toronto - until Paralia opened. We are so happy to be able to go the beach and enjoy a great meal, have a glass of wine in the open sea (lake) air. The food is superb - it's greek food with extremely high quality ingredients, fresh fish, cheese brought in from greece, and an excellent wine list chosen by a quality Greek Sommalier. We have been to Paralia over 10 times, and will continue to return
Beautiful atmosphere, great food, kitchen could be quicker.
What a gorgeous place - -felt special just being there. Food was yummy and the Greek wine Amethystos Blanc was wonderful. Our server Heath was engaging and fun; we really enjoyed the evening. Found it via the tourist magazine in our hotel room. We had an appetizer, salads, and we shared a giant piece of perfectly prepared fish; combined with the bottle of wine, we found the price to be what you'd expect for a night out -- since the American dollar was high during our visit, it seemed even more reasonable to us. ;-) Recommend the three dips and the spinach/rice side dish - yummy and as good as anything we serve at our own Greek Easter.
Such a gem in the city! I last went when it was owned by the previous owners, but it did not disappoint at all. Just like walking into a bit of Greece without the long flight!
Gorgeous decor, terrific food, beautiful spot on the beach. It was quieter than I expected, but as there is a greek festival going on I imagine many people looking for greek were there. The food is amazing - not "home cooked" Greek (many of the traditional dishes had a decidedly "upscale" spin), but all delicious. I've been there with friends, with my husband, and with my family (a bit earlier in the day) - and it was fabulous each time.
Slow, inattentive service and a comically overpriced menu.
