Paragon Grill Ratings and Reviews
My experience was fine the food was fine. but however my husband and I did have to wait 15 minutes after being seated to be greeted by my waitress. to get water and bread. which was a completely turn off to me so the restaurant should serve everyone as equal as they would do.
I had a lobster roll that was a big disappointment. I think the lobster roll at McDonald's has more lobster in it than the one I got at this restaurant. My friends had the Fish and Chips and there was more batter than fish. The restaurant is in a great location just across from the beach but there are better food options in the same area.
Went there on a Friday night with my wife. Had the special which was Surf and turf. The surf was local crab that had very little taste in a red sauce. The steak was not a very good cut and was over cooked, I had ask for med rare. The waitress was nice and efficient. My wife had the scallops and she loved them. They were excellent. We had breakfast in the morning and waited over 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee. After that we watched people come in after us and they got there food before we did even though we had ordered before them. The waitress was again fine and efficient. She did get bogged down by a table with a couple kids and a mother who was demanding.
There is poor service, and there is no service. Paragon fell into the second category. They could not provide a table, so we sat at the bar, and there we waited, waited, and waited. No water, no menu, no acknowledgement by wait staff. Several other couples left when we did after this neglect. Don't count on your reservation being honored!
It's a nice local restaurant with an upscale flair. Food is good. I got the scallops with asparagus risotto and purple (?) brussel sprouts. Not wild about the sprouts but it's because they were grilled and I am not crazy about smokey food. The risotto was superb and the scallops were very good.
All of the servers where very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We stayed at the hotel, so we had dinner and breakfast the following morning and everything we had was delicious:
Steak tips entree
The side of garlic spinach was the best I've ever had
chocolate molten cake
breakfast was omelet and sides of corn beef hash - BIG portions and very delicious.
We booked a lunch at Paragon Grill for my mother's birthday. When we arrived the restaurant didn't have our booking and said they don't open until 5pm. We were offered seats in the bar area, which was incredibly loud. While the food was adequate, the service was horrendous and we were charged for drinks that never arrived, despite reminders. Overall a very disappointing experience from a poorly managed restaurant.
Was so excited to try out this spot that looks out over Nantasket Beach, but was very disappointed. Parking was not easy or obvious because the beach was still busy at dinner time. We were presented with a hostess asking questions about menu items to passing servers in response to a person's inquiry on the phone. Once sat, I noticed immediately the menu was different from the one I saw online. Our server, Anna, confirmed with management that they had changed the menu a month ago but hadn't updated the website. She then brought us two dinner rolls, one each (thankfully we weren't starving). While waiting for our meal, I noticed the manager leaning on the wall, chewing gum, not paying much attention. He never came to our table and checked on our meal, which would not have been tough to do with only a handful of tables eating.
I could have forgave all of the above had the food been outstanding. Quite the opposite, the food was awful. My wife had the scallops, which were seared on the outside, cold on the inside, and devoid of flavor. Seeing as how the steak frites wasn't on the new menu, I played it safe and ordered a pizza, which tasted like cardboard that had been frozen and reheated. We quickly paid the check, skipped dessert and retreated to Nona's in Hingham for ice cream (which was really good as always).
If you want Hull beachfront, skip this mess and try an old reliable like Bridgeman's.
I made a reservation for 4 people at 6:30 and included a note that we were going to the show at 7:30. Dinner never came. All of the tables around us were served and departing. We ate at La Dalat after the show instead. That was a delicious dinner with excellent service. They serve until 9:30 but sat us at 9:28 without complaint.
We had reservations here for ourselves and 2 other couples to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday! We had a great time! Food was excellent and the service was awesome! Our server Lisa was friendly, attentive, and entertaining-good laughs! Would absolutely go back and we highly recommend the restaurant for others to try and enjoy!!
Good location, nice view & some outdoor seating, though a busy street is between the restaurant & beach. Loud noise level. I ordered a drink & actually forgot about it because it took so long to arrive! After that tho, our waitress was very attentive & friendly. Had the oysters for an app, tasty & presented well. Entrees were the swordfish & seafood bake, just ok - really under seasoned. Reasonably priced. Would go back but wouldn't expect to be blown away.
The view is fabulous here, even in the back of the restaurant. The food; I had Lobster Ravioli which was very good. My partner had the roasted herb chicken which was cooked well but bland in flavor. The tiramisu had a spin with caramel sauce, but it was actually a bonus. I'm a traditionalist with this dessert, but I loved the twist. I would eat here again and I recommend it. The bar is attached and is a fun and lively place for an evening of drinking and hanging out.
excellent food and unlike most restaurants in suburban Boston their prices don't make you think you're in downtown Boston
The food was excellent couple of great swordfish and haddock dinners which were perfectly cooked and presented
we will definitely head back
I come to this restaurant frequently 2x week. My husband and I ordered the lobsta special. I am a food conosseur and always enjoy the dinners there! The risotto was fishy and too sticky, but there was a good amount of lobster in it. I did not say anything because the waitress was new and extremely helpful. I would not recommend this dinner to anyone.
Everything was great! Paragon Grill reserved us a nice table by the window with a view of the ocean. There were 4 people in my party and everyone was happy with their meals and there was a descent selection of wine and such. My daughter was being proposed to after dinner on the beach and a group of 10 of us went back to the Paragon Lounge for drinks afterwards. Nice lounge area with a small band. All in all a very good experience and a wonderful night. Thank you. Lorraine
My fiance and I live nearby and have been going there every couple of months for brunch. We first went to the Paragon Grill when we stayed at the hotel about three years ago before we moved here. The lobster omelettes are our favorite, and it's great to sit outside and watch the waves coming in. However, the service has gotten worse and worse the more often we go there. We were just there last week and the hostess sat us in the dining room. After about 15 minutes, we were tired of watching other parties be seated and have their orders taken before us, so we finally flagged down a waitress. This has been a typical scenario for us when going there lately.
I had a delicious dinner and breakfast here while I stayed at the hotel. The staff were incredible: friendly and attentive. Additionally, the view was stellar! Given that the whole night was a birthday present for my boyfriend, I couldn't have planned this any better. Will definitely return.
Two of us went for the Thursday night Prime Rib Dinner. There was no waiting,we sat in front of the fireplace which was lovely. The food was delicious although they had run out of asparagus and we had squash which was a bit cold. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. We have been to the Paragon Grill many times and will continue to frequent it.
