About
Paradou, in Manhattan's Meat Packing District, serves upscale, modern French cuisine for dinner, as well as for a popular brunch service, in its bright eatery adorned with real foliage. The aioli de la mer platter, laden with 9-spiced tuna, grilled sardines, boquerones, crab-stuffed artichokes, vegetables and saffron aioli, makes a welcoming appetizer option. Some of Paradou's specialty dinner entrées include the grilled and dry aged shell steak entrecote with potato gratin, the poulet au lemon sage marinated Amish chicken with ratatouille and the happy piggie pork belly with andouille powder and beet puree. Paradou also has a vegetarian dish of the day, as well as a slew of desserts made fresh everyday.
Paradou's brunch entrées, such as the wake and bake, with two sunny side up eggs, melted cheese and andouille sausage pieces, perfectly accompany the champagne cocktail specials.
Restaurant was closed - I did not get a notification, and once I realized (the evening of) OpenTable wouldn't let me make a different reservation that conflicted with the time.
I made reservations for 3:30, when we arrived they told us we still need to wait 15 minutes which would have been fine except we didn't get seated for over AN HOUR LATER. While we were waiting the guy at the door basically told us that even though we've been waiting a while don't let that be an excuse to stay long because " he goes home when we go home and he wants to go home." Once inside we were sat in their"garden" which is a very tiny space where you're crammed at your seat with very little space to even move your chair back. They did however give us champagne as soon as we sat down, so now we were thinking our brunch experience would finally be turned around but no. The waiters asked which juices we would like to mix or champagne with and came back with two dirty glasses which looked poorly cleaned if cleaned at all. When i asked for another class she replied " Oh that's from the strawberry juice from earlier" with no apology or regard to potential allergies. They took our food order pretty quickly however we didn't receive our food for another hour later. The music was HORRIBLE, they seemed to be playing songs from youtube scrambling between workers to find a song to follow the last ( listening to the music from Revel next door would have been a better option). Finally, most tables seemed to be clearing out since it was a little after 6... we however were still not at our 2 hour limit which was promised, so then a worker turns off the music and tells us that we need to leave. We respond that we paid for 2 hours as did everyone else today and should be respected of that 2 hour limit he then began to yell at us to get out and told the waiters to start clearing off our table (which they did). We were rushed and yelled out and we requested to speak to the manger. The manger could care less about our complaints he replied with sarcastic comments and carried on smoking his cigarette. This was hands down the worst brunch experience i ever had.
Very nice atmosphere, good food, good service. Overall a very nice experience. I would definitely return.
Delicious dishes (Lobster roll just perfect) . Best service ever.
The experience was fantastic until the next day when I realized that they had gotten our bill all wrong. While it was my fault for not checking before I paid, they had gotten all the orders wrong and ended up charging an extra $50. In addition, I didn't realize that tip was already included, so I paid an extra $100, and no one had the integrity to tell me that I must have missed the included gratuity. This seemed like more than just an oversight - it feels like the waitstaff knew we would be drinking and intentionally messed up the bill to get more money out of us. This has never happened to me and was the worst dining experience I've ever had.
Perfect for birthday celebration. The atmosphere was fun and vibrant. Everyone was enjoying themselves and the brunch special was a really great deal. It was really loud and hard to talk, but it wasn't a problem. We enjoyed the music and had a great time.
Great place!
We didn't sit down until one and half hours after our scheduled reservation. They felt bad, but we didn't receive any type of compensation for the huge inconvenience. In addition, their policy is you get to stay seated 2 hours, but because the party before us went over, they kicked us out prior to our scheduled time.
A group of 5 of us went to Paradou on a really hot Sunday morning for brunch. Because of the way the restaurant is set up, we were sitting in the courtyard with the sun shining directly on some of us. There didn't seem to be much air moving around, so it grew hot pretty fast. We asked to be moved to a shaded area, as the sun seemed to be just in our spot. The hostess wasn't very nice at all, and wouldn't allow us to move. There were 2 empty seats and we were just going to shift over as the seats were right next to us. When one of my friends started seeing black spots and was about to faint, one of the kind waiters (I didn't catch his name) was able to move us over. Just a side note that none of us were drinking anything except coffee and water. Anyway, besides that, the food was tasty and the atmosphere was a plus.
I loved it but my only complaint is that it got pretty hot on the rooftop! Wish they had one or two more fans going.
Honestly the best brunch I've been to in NYC.
I love the patio, great spot for brunch! The wait staff is great and super nice and accommodating. Also, unlimited mimosas for 2 hours is always a plus :)
The service was outstanding! The entire atmosphere made us feel like we were back in Paris on our Honeymoon! Salmon tartar was amazing! We will be going back!
Very vibrant - but also very noisy - the volume of the music made people shout to hear each other and when the whole room was doing this - it took much away from the experience. The food and staff were pleasant.
I was on the look-out for steak frites and they had a really good one with a Roquefort sauce.
Great burrata and a weird but delish Amaish bacon.
Nice and quiet on a recent Thursday evening, despite the Meat-pak location. Like .
We were visiting New City from Texas. This place had good reviews and an intriguing menu. They had a great brunch special ($30 for bottomless mimosas and an item off of their brunch menu) We called to ask for reservation times and the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude saying we don't have any reservation times. When we asked about booking one of the open reservation times on OpenTable and she promptly said those are not available and we will cancel any reservation made through the website. Despite this we made the reservation through OpenTable and figured it was worth a shot as we really wanted to try the restaurant. To our delight the reservation was honored we were sat within 10minutes of arriving. From being sat the experience was less than enjoyable. The waiter was scattered brained and impossible to hear. Even after saying multiple times "we cannot hear you" he refused to speak louder. He had to come back 2 times to confirm our order in addition to two other staff members confirming the order. Our order still came out wrong and the food was disappointingly mediocre. The mimosas were also terrible. The champagne was sour and bitter and despite what flavor we tried (they have multiples) the flavor never got better. Overall our experience was not satisfactory and I would not recommend this place for brunch.
The food was fine. We shared delicious French toast, and a wonderful omelette. The portions were not the size you get in a diner, but the food was superior and the portions were adequate. For dessert we shared a crepe filled with wonderful chocolate and orange flavors.
Be prepared, it gets LOUD in here, especially an hour in to the unlimited mimosas! The food was great, but what made it so memorable was the incredible service. I wish I had learned our waiter's name, he was amazing, attentive, funny, helpful, and always there with a fresh pitcher of drinks when we needed one! Thank you so much!
At first when I walked in there is small room with a small bar I was afraid my Mom and family wouldn't like it for Mother's day. We were then led to the backroom which was a bigger tent that was directed nicely. It had a fun vibrant scene. Good for groups not a lot of space at the table. The menu is funny and unique with a lot of good options. They have a good drink brunch option $30 for unlimited drinks that were good Mimosa bellini etc and an entre. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch. The service was great and the price was doable.
LOVE this place. Amazing for brunch! Such a cool vibe and very reasonable price
Can't sit in the garden area unless you have a large group +10.
The music, the ambiance, the crowd made this restaurant a terrific place to be. The food was good, nothing extraordinary, but the high energy level becomes intoxicating. Fun restaurant for groups although there were lots twosomes.
Had a great time at brunch. Noisy restaurant but fun atmosphere outside in the greenhouse area. Food was delicious! The Bellini's were delicious and there were many flavors to choose from. I really enjoyed the eggs and polenta.
Relaxed restaurant with really good food.
Dined early evening mid-week so really quiet. Food excellent, my steak was cooked just as I wanted.
Very attentive and helpful staff.
Definitely one to go back to.
Went here for my birthday brunch. It's a energetic environment & for the price, the food was great so were the drinks!
We arrived at Paradou for our 11am booking and the restaurant was just opening up and the staff were not ready for us. They were not too friendly and welcoming , I felt like we had intruded in their space. We were the only table seated for about 20 minutes and had to ask 3 times for a pot of hot water for our tea. The food was fine, I enjoyed the tuna salad. We were not offered refills for our coffee, perhaps this was not included. Ambience was nice when more diners arrived. Pricey for the food we ordered.
Great service here, really fun atmosphere and staff immediately put you at ease. Unlimited champagne cocktails were both delicious and deadly! Food was fabulous, I had the streak which was cooked to perfection and my partner had the duck which was also delicious. We would highly recommend for a fun brunch!
Paradou was a great disappointment. Booked for late morning January 1st brunch, and couldn't wait to leave. The main room in the back is clearly oriented for younger crowd looking for some quick drinking. Very noisy and loud music. Tables are cramped, to the point that staffed told us to seat straight at the table so everyone can fit. Staff, with one exception, was absurdly impolite and with such improper attitude that I can only understand by they being used to mistreat younger crowds. Food was underwhelming. By contrast, the very small room in the front looked as a completely different restaurant. Calm and cosy, even with different music. But we only realized it on the way out...
Wow what a disappointment last time there they had 1/3 of what was on menu used to be so good now sad
We had reservations for 2 but the dining area in the back was as loud as being in a club (yes we are old at heart). But it was great. Good food good service and good company. I would go back
The DUCK REUBEN is one of the best things ever! Also, the unlimited champagne lunch with a handful of different flavours should not be missed.
The garden room is super cute, but it definitely gets loud on weekends. They start your drinking time at the time of your reservation if you're there or not
I had such an amazing time there after work on Friday! The food, drinks and staff were simply amazing! Looking forward to having brunch there.
Brunch at Paradou was phenomenal. Service and food alike were top notch and it didn't hurt that our champagne glasses were never empty! Highly recommend for a group brunch! We will be back.
service was laughable, sat there for 25 minutes before even being approached by a server.
I have now gone for brunch and dinner and love this place. The garden is quaint.
Just go for brunch or early dinner. The neighborhood - Meatpacking - turns into club land after the dinner hour. Nothing to do with the restaurant itself, just not a fun exit from a wonderful dinner.
I knew Paradou as a really good brunch place and wanted to check it out for dinner. Unfortunately the sliders were too dry, pasta was overcooked and lacking spices. Apart from the food experience, we were told that we can't move our reservation to 9pm and were rushing to the place to be on time at 8:30 - but half of the tables were empty also at 9pm.
Food was enjoyable. We had a table in the back garden and it was great. The waiter was very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend.
Service could not have been better -- attentive, enthusiastic and accurate. Food was all enjoyable if not particularly memorable. Ambiance was lively without being obnoxious.
the back patio seating is chic and quaint. The lamb and beef sliders are delicious!
