Grad party
Food great - party of. 12 - had to ask to take drink order and we were told about cake cutting fee 4 times
I got it the first time ! We didn't want to whole cake cut as everyone didn't want cake but they cut entire cake and charged $4 even though I brought plates/napkins
Never checked how meals were etc .
I would think when we are spending close to $400 for lunch we would have been made to feel like we were valued.
Very good overall. Wish they would advertise that they only have brunch available until 3PM. We came from a graduation in the mood for lunch. still good, but limited.
A little it louder than I expected. The waiter was awesome, food was fair, just expected something a little less hectic.
Our first experience was surprisingly good. We didn't know what to make of the place, but found the menu and food inviting and tasty. It was a perfect location to meet up with friends we haven't seen in a while for lunch. Two of the four couples were regulars at this restaurant, but for me, it was my first time and I picked it without consulting them. I'm glad there was a good selection to satisfy all tastes.
Consistent quality of food, presentation and service. A pleasure to dine here.
This was a last minute choice to enjoy a birthday dinner following Mother's Day. We were seated immediately upon our arrival for a 5pm dinner reservation. We reviewed the menu and the wait staff shared the specials of the day. We chose the petrale sole offering and paired it with two white wines: gewurstraminer and vognier. The atmosphere was quite lively in conversations as all the patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves. The food was delicious and the presentation was delightful. The portions were more than adequate. The wait staff frequently checked in with us to see how our dining experience was progressing. We have never been disappointed with our dining experiences. A great neighborhood gem!
the crab and avocado salad are always brilliant - the panini was interesting - my friend and I shared everything and she wanted the portobello panini - you need to like cheese and pesto.
First time eating at Paradiso and was very impressed. Recommend reservations as there was a large crowd at the front waiting to be seated. Food was absolutely delicious! A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Will definitely go there again.
KATHRINE IS A GREAT HOSTESS AND WILL HELP WITH REQUESTS EVEN ON BUSY MOTHER'S DAY!
NARSA IS A GREAT WAITER WITH HUMOR AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS!
AND HIS SUPPORT SYSTEM A-1.
Went there for Mother's Day brunch. Food is excellent! Service was great too!
A true gem: beautiful and delicious food served in a chic setting.
This may be the last time I come here. I have always liked the food at this restaurant but it is so noisy and people are packed in. I could barely hear the people at my table and the atmosphere was almost like a cafeteria. So sad to see these changes.
Great food, great service! Loved it!! They were able to accomodate my extra guest at the last minute. Thank you very much!
Food was delicious and service was great. There were 10 in our party celebrating my son"s graduation from UC Berkeley.
Great place, amazing service and food tasted really fresh and flavourful. They were super accommodating of everyone in our party's specific dietary needs. Will definitely go again!
Awesome restaurant hidden in San Leandro. Excellent food and great service!
Nasser the waiter is a must for anyone that wants to know what excellent service is.
The food is really good here but the service is not. Our waitress was not friendly, didn't thanks us, and worse, snatched the check out of my hand without saying a word. The only reason I gave the service 3 stars is because the host was really nice and the busboys were attentive. As far as our waitress she deserves 0 stars
Great food. Delicious salads and pizzas.
Ice Tea Paradise is the bomb
Disappointing!! I have to this restaurant several times so I recommended it to friends coming rom SF thinking it was great place for us to meet & dine. The waiter we had was terrible! Not only did he mess up the salad order, we ordered a Gluten Free pizza (my friend has to been on "gluten free" diet) which turned out NOT to be gluten free. See review below. This was a very dangerous dining experience!
Additional review: Not only was the waiter rude and lacking in table side manners, he was totally clueless about two of the dishes ordered. Clearly, we ordered the GLUTEN FREE pizza (I have to be gluten free and told him so). The pizza came immediately, and was tasty. Then we ordered the Seafood Louie salad to share, (expensive $27 for the portion served), but what we got was a small Caesar salad. The waiter argued that he "heard" Caesar salad, even though I was pointing to the item on the menu for him to see when ordering. No apologies were offered. The other mistake was not detected until I got home. I looked at the bill; there was no additional charge for the gluten free pizza crust. I immediately called the restaurant, spoke to the manager to check on the contents of the pizza. The waiter was already off duty & there was nothing that indicated that it was gluten free. As a result, I ended up being sick the next day from ingesting gluten. The staff should be trained to REPEAT the order . Seems that the waiter was seriously hard of hearing, and didn't have his customers' best interests in his heart. Food allergies are serious!
Eating out is expensive and part of the dining experience is in the attention and service that you expect to to get. If the service is lacking, I may as well have stayed home and cooked my own meal. It's safer, less expensive and just as tasty. Sorry Paradiso, you earned a zero, but I had to give the one star since the manager comp'ed us the meal. That was nice, but the damage was already done to my intestinal tract.
Parking was easy to find on the street. Service was great; our waitress was friendly and cracked jokes with our youngest throughout the night. We each chose a different dish and a different dessert. Everything was delicious and you got the bang for your buck! I had the linguini with fresh clams and I ate it all, but my ultimate fave was my 10 year old son's choice (seafood fettuccine). Worth every penny! Dessert did not disappoint. I read all of the reviews about how the tiramisu was the best and a definite must try item. And yes, it was!! My boys had the molten chocolate cake and the creme brûlée. Let's just say we left smiling.
Good service, but maybe a bit rushed. The wild salmon dinner was a little pricey considering the portion. Small piece of salmon and some roasted potatoes, however the quality of the salmon was very good. The dessert was amazing. My family and I are never disappointed when we dine at Paradiso.
As usual another great meal. The linguini withclamswas a little stupider than I expected, but the broth was good and garlicky.
Consistently good dining experience in a casual, neighborhood restaurant. Food choices meet the wants of many palates. Service is always good. Save room for dessert.
First time using Open Table for this restaurant. Wait time was shorter than expected!
Paradiso is a fantastic place to dine. The menu is appealing with seasonal food such as oyster 's and lamb. Their small plates can be a meal.
Ordered lamb chops, calamari, and shrimp. This was our small plate. Had lamb shanks as an entrée. Completed the meal with a fresh salad. The calamari and lamp chops along with a
salad left little room for an entrée.
The bread they offer with their small plates was excellent as a meal. The small plates
can easily be substituted as entree's. All the small plates can be shared.
I would highly recommend reservations. They are a hot spot for dining or happy hour.
You cannot go wrong if you enjoy their small plates as well as their entree's. This is by
far one (1) of my favorite neighborhood gems.
First time back to Paradiso in awhile. The restaurant did not disappoint, and was very busy on a Thursday evening. Casual, well-appointed atmosphere, quiet table, well-prepared and tasty food (salad, linguini w/ claims, and a steak) accompanied by a nice white wine, and attentive, professional service. We were very pleased, and will be back soon.
Friendly attentive service food very fresh and good good have larger portion of sides
I selected this restaurants, based on reviews I had read, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were surprised seeing the crowd when we walked in. The place was nearly packed at 7 pm on a Wednesday night. The ambiance was great. All kinds of groups were having dinner; friends, family, couples, looked like colleagues. I had read good comments about their Cioppino and Tiramisu. We ordered and split the dish along with a side order of Caesar salad and found it to be just right. The Tiramisu was delicious and light; not as sweet as it looks. Our waiter, Carlos was fantastic. We plan to go back with the children so we can try their Wood-fire oven Pizza. It is a great place for all occasions and you fit right in regardless of how you feel to dress.
I had a great time at Paradiso. Our waiter, Carlos, was fantastic - easy to talk to and attentive. The food was great - I ordered the mushroom risotto, which was very creamy. My friend ordered the steak - there were some fatty parts but he seemed to like it overall.
I'm not typically in San Leandro, but the next time I am, I'll see if I can eat here again
Food is always great here, and service is ok depending on what server you get. This time we were put in a corner by the hostess, when there were open tables by the windows, also our server never ask if I wanted pepper on my salad, which I did or offer us a second cocktail
My friends and I love Paradiso! The food, the service and the ambiance can't be beat in this neighborhood gem. They make tasty cocktails too! It's a great place for a special occasion but it's also a good choice for dinner, lunch or brunch. Their menu has something for everyone. The crab and avocado appetizer is delicious! I would highly recommend this place. Enjoy!
My colleagues and I were in the area on business and Paradiso was recommended to us as a good place for dinner. The hostess and wait staff were great. The food was great too! Two of us ordered the prosciutto salad and pizza primavera, and the other one ordered the soup of the day, I think it was a white bean soup and orange salad. Each plate was better than the first.
I'm from the east coast but if I'm ever in the area again I will definitely go back again.
Friendly restaurant with contemporary and old time favorites. Food was delicious, well presented, and portions generous. Wait staff were very friendly and helpful in discussing options.
Ambiance is friendly with contemporary art on the walls, beamed ceilings and a bit of an industrial flair. Hard wood flooring and tall ceiling contributed to noise build up, but conversations can be had without shouting. Young couples, old couples, groups of friends at larger tables, a family with young children, and a solo woman having a meal at the bar counter were present during our visit which all contributed to an open, easy ambiance of a diverse community of happy diners.
Always a great time - food and service never disappoints.
We love going to Paradiso as our local restaurant - the only really good restaurant for San Leandro, Castro Valley or Hayward. The food is always good including the items usually on the menu like salmon - and the specials of the evening never fail to impress.
This place is a real gem for the East Bay! Top notch food and ambiance ! It's a great place to celebrate a birthday with friends and family!!
One of the best in the Bay area. The food is always good. The service is always very professional.Pound for pound this is one of the best restaurants in the Bay area
Great service . It was full , that make the place very nose hard to talk
I had the Halibut special with local crab and my wife had the Lamb Chop appetizer. Both meals were cooked properly and delicious. I never felt rushed and the drinks and food were very timely. The service from Francisco is always professional and courteous. Would recommend you get Francisco as your waiter.
