Very nice place
My wife recently had surgery, which the hostess took into consideration & seated us immediately.
The bus boy for a young man was very mature & was especially considerate to the women.
The server Catarina was absolutely a breath and f fresh air. She was terrific .
Parking was the only issue , we had the women go into the restaurant while we hunted down a parking space.
Paradiso is a great local spot with consistent good food and service.
The waitstaff was brand new, so the service was a bit rocky, but the food was delicious as always!
One of our local go to options, always good. Chose to sit on the bar side which is more lively than the dining room. Two of us ordered from the nightly specials menu and two ordered from the regular dining menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals and will return again soon.
Consistently good food. Our waitperson, Kayla, was charming and informative when we asked some questions about ingredients. She made the meal even more enjoyable!
Paradiso, always a good choice
I live in the area and have walked past this restaurant many times, finally tried it. I wanted to like the place, really I did, but it was disappointing to say the least.
The bar area seems decent and cocktails weren't bad, however the dining room resembles a funeral parlor and feels like an afterthought.
The food was OK, though most of it was bland. The service was...spotty. Entrees arrived before appetizers and salad, and were wrong. The waiter may have been new, but should have been ready for Saturday dinner service before hitting the floor. The rest of the waitstaff was exceptionally attentive and extremely nice in working to recover from the mishap, and ended up taking several things off the bill to compensate. That said, the credit card used to pay the bill was charged twice - once at the full fare, once at the discounted rate.
I don't want to trash the place, as the service team really stepped up, but ultimately it's about the food and for my money, it just doesn't merit a return visit. Others may feel differently, as it seems like a local hangout.
Consistently great food and service!
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with friends. Service was excellent. The dining room was quite cozy with intimate lighting. I ordered lobster ravioli. It was delicious with pieces of lobster in a creamy sauce. Followed by a cannoli and I coffee went home extremely satisfied with the food and ambience of the Paridiso.
Nice place with good menu, service and reasonable price for what we got. We were seated immediately - had a reservation. All in all a nice evening.
As a regular, I was very disappointed in the food tonight. We had the stuffed veal chop special and it was tasteless and over fried. The scoop of mash potatoes was small and they were hard as a rock and tasteless as well as the side grilled veggies. The Almafi Fra’Davolo made me sick when I got home. The fish was over cooked. Maybe the chef should stay in the kitchen and pay attention instead of delivering food and chatting with his friends.
Tasty Italian food and reasonably priced. The bar area with seating tables was packed and a little on the noisy side however the dining room was much quieter with good table service.
Neighborhood gem, hidden except for the train riders. Consistently good food, large portions, attentive staff. Desserts look fabulous, but we’re always too full to ever get to taste them!
Very nice meal with friends. A menu with variety that accommodated various preferences (weight watcher, vegetarian, finicky eater, and a generalist). Service was very nice without being rushed. Prices offered less expensive options and more expensive items like surf and turf. I do note the evening we were there that they had run out of two of their specials by 6:30 in the evening. Kind of early for that to happen.
We prefer/enjoy to sit at the bar rather than dining room. Food is very good!
Been here quite a few times and never had a problem until now. I even brought my whole family there for a reunion in August of 2017. Food and service are always excellent until this last time. Head waitress even got into an argument with my girlfriend and said something about a gift certificate that never was communicated to me. Food came out backward, dinner than salad. Salad was comped. When it was brought to head waitresses attention all hell broke loose. Not sure what was said but I'm not sure I will be back.
Great food at a good price. Ambiance is very nice. Enjoy going there.
Love this place. Food is always amazing as well as the service.
Celebrated my birthday dinner here. Excellent food and service. I would recommend making reservation for a weekend night.
Great get together spot. Homemade pasta, great Italian dishes. I love fish so I had salmon with pesto and white beans and spinach..yummy! My girlfriend had swordfish.. she liked hers as well. I like a thicker cut, but flavor was good.
Food and service was great!!!
Great neighborhood gem serving authentic old Italian style food. Warm and friendly service with lots of locals who seem to be there for all occasions. Veal and chicken parmesan were generous servings accompanied by either salad or their delicious homemade pasta. Menu runs the gamut of salads, antipasto, pastas, chicken and meat dishes including all the old time favorites. Definitely will return with family members. Very pleasant and conveniently located directly across street from Swampscott T- station.
Menu selections are outstanding. The staff is attentive to your needs but you don't feel rushed. Nice wine selection. Highly recommended for any occasion
Excellent for date, special occasion, friends get together...really anything! Great atmosphere and it's the best at the bar with Kim! Chef can be temperamental but his food is excellent. I say that because he cooked my rare request for ribeye to well done and refused to make me another piece of meat. Took me two weeks to come back as I am a regular and I love the friendships I made at the bar. Tonight I met more friends who share the same experiences I have had and then some new ones. I enjoy this restaurant and I know we all have off days so my bad experience with Chef is made up by the wonderful front house bar staff. Tonight, Bolognese and eggplant pizza was amazing!
Best food, best service. My husband was a pain in the neck and they didn't mind!!!
Consistently delicious. Very personable waitstaff. Good wine selection. We've never had a bad experience there.
Awesome !! Was better than I expected
Paradiso is always consistent with good service and friendly neighborhood vibe.
We always go here for a nice reasonably priced meal. Fresh pasta and inexpensive yet tasty wine selections are always on the menu. Service is also always attentive.
Prices are very reasonable, food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. We will continue to come back.
My friends and I always enjoy Paradiso: good drinks, food, and service. What's not to like? Never disappointed....
Always great always leave happy strongly recommend
Have been many times before
But not up to par
Service not great
1 person in our party wasn't served his salad
Then when it came
It was wrong
Then brought wrong main course
Then spilled drink when it was brought to table and it spilled on his potatoes
Food only so so
So thrilled we discovered Paradiso. We have never had a bad experience, not even close to bad. Staff is fantastic and friendly and always so sweet with our twins. I would recommend for families with young children to go between 5-6. A great kid menu with crayons and the adults can have a great meal as well.
Food was between quite good and serviceable and nothing really disappointed. Service was friendly and drinks were good, wine was reasonably priced. A big step up from Bertuci's etc but no Sorrelina.
Excellent food and service. Great value. Highly recommended.
No complaints about the food - the ingredients were fresh, the pasta al denté and sauces authentic. Meats were very good and well seasoned. The wait staff is a bit gruff; their knowledge of wines is lacking. The bigger issue is that there was a very large party of 20+ persons in the back tables of the restaurant that had been there since 5:30 (we arrived at 7:30 and left at 9:15) and this group was a horrific distraction not only to the wait staff, but to the patrons of your establishment. These people were crowding around other diners to talk with their friends with no regards whatsoever to the comfort or dining pleasure of other guests. This was totally unacceptable. We actually moved tables once, but never saw anyone from management asking the group to contain themselves as they were disturbing other guests.
Hadn't been there is several years but needed to find a place at the last minute. Took a reservation on short notice but restaurant was pretty busy nonetheless. Excellent beet salad, good Italian dishes and also able to accommodate my wife's gluten free requirements.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Food is always good. It's just not Italian inspired. Had the sirloin steak, was cooked perfectly as requested. There is a dining room side, quieter than the lounge side. The lounge wasn't too noisy. We've eaten in both rooms.
The perfect spot for families. Our waitress was wonderful with our twin four olds as was the entire staff. Great adult menu and children's menu. Win win!
