Paradiso Restaurant - Oakville Ratings and Reviews
My date and I had dinner at Paradiso Oakville on New Year's Eve 2016. I'd been to this location once before and the Burlington location several times but had forgotten how delicious the food is! Service was impeccable but wow! The food. I had a Caesar salad that was outstanding (rare to find these days) and then a daily pasta that was creamy but light. So good. My date had a Greek salad with charred feta (mouthwatering) and then the crab ravioli. We weren't stuffed but boy, were we happy! Will be back.
Awesome restaurant! Been a few times and never had a bad thing to say about the place. I definitely recommend requesting that you not be seated next (or even near) to the kitchen if you decide to choose this restaurant. It's a bit loud for when they're shouting out orders across the room.
I really enjoy Paradiso, however we seated beside the kitchen prep area and one of the employees was constantly yelling out orders to the other workers. Although this may be considered fun , we were there pre theatre trying to catch up on our lives and the loud yelling was very disruptive. Next time, I will call for a reservation and request a table away from the kitchen area.
We were impressed by the attention to detail, cozy atmosphere and our waiter was very attentive and personable.
We shared a few appetizers and a main dish. Our waiter served each item at the right times and the chef split our main dish in the kitchen. Very well done. It's these little things that made for a great dining experience.
We also enjoy their wine list.
Cold bread that was damp to start
Braised beef entrée was cold
Gnocchi had very little flavour to it. Sauce was very soupy/watery
The table was very small and jammed full of different items. Menus, advertisements candles etc.
Table was very wobbly and they attempted to fix it right after they delivered us our entrées. Not very professional.
We will not return to this restaurant in the future
This was our first time at Paradiso, but will not be the last. They are right across the street from the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, which makes it a great go to before, or after, a show. The food is absolutely delicious, likely because it is all home made. I had to gnocci and my wife had fish. Both were done perfectly. Great draft beer available, and a good choice of wines. The glass of white my wife first tried was not to her liking, and they had no problem in suggesting a different one, at no charge. Can get noisy when they are busy, but I guess that is a good sign.
We all realized that the service would be slow considering it was 8:00pm on a Midnight Madness Friday night but it was rediculous and very poor. The waitress didn't know what was in the Sangria and when asked how many ounces the Salmon meal was...she too had no idea. The Sangria was disgusting and the Salmon which I was told to be larger portioned was small and tasteless for the money. Would think twice about returning except if I had a table outside on the patio on a hot sunny day!
Paradiso is our 'go to' restaurant. Consistently good, nice staff. We are moving away and wanted one more meal here. We had our favourite meal, crab ravioli and Morrocan chicken and were actually able to sit outside. Not to mention crime brûlée . One of those places when we visit the area we will come back. Enjoy!
I went to Paradiso for lunch when it was "The taste of Oakville." There was a set menu for $20 and there was plenty of selection on that menu. What a great price for the amazing food that we got! We got an appetizer, a main dish and some dessert all for a fantastic price. The service was outstanding as well. Would definitely recommend!
I needed to find a lovely restaurant in Oakville, to take my wife for her birthday. After a quick review of moderate establishments, Paradiso's menu hit a home run in my eyes. The reviews that I did read were all very positive, so I made the decision to give it a try. I booked a reservation on-line with Open Table (LOVED being able to do this on-line) and headed to the restaurant in less than an hour.
We loved the décor, it was classy, yet homey. We loved that the "kitchen" was in the seating area, so you could watch the chef's prepare the food... and bask in the glorious aroma's of the cooking food. The server was extremely friendly, but gave us plenty of space to enjoy our dinner with out feeling like she was hovering.
The food... what can I say... it was orgasmic. From the lovely pre-dinner bread (home-made), the delicious appetizers (she had French Onion Soup which was piping hot and delicious--and not overly salted like many are, I had the special appetizer--it had smoked cheddar, chirizo and chipotle dipping sauce... plus other things I can't remember. It was deep fried heaven). The sizing for the appetizers was perfect, enough to whet your appetite, but not so much as to spoil your meal. The main course for her was Asiago Chicken Penne Al Forno, a very delicious pasta meal... swimming in home-made pasta sauce, cheese and chicken. My meal was an absolute heavenly Moroccan Chicken Supreme... words cannot describe the delicious mixture of spices rubbed on a perfectly prepared quarter chicken, stuffed with sweet onion and tomato dressing. Served over a bed of spice rubbed potatoes, leeks and spinach. My taste buds are drooling now thinking about it again.
The dessert was a lovely flour-less chocolate torte served over a peppermint creme and butterscotch sauce. A perfect topper for a perfect meal. I will HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to any and all who love good food.
If you are seated close to the front door in winter, as we were, you'll need to keep you coat close by. I spent the whole evening imagining a redesign of the front entrance that would prevent the frigid breeze.
Appetizer plate was very different and tasty, the pasta mains not so much.
This multi room venue offers everything from the vibrant bar , cook's tables to the romantic and quiet fireplace area. We started with the pate and wine . We dined on the Cod special and seared tuna salad . On this cold, brisk evening we enjoyed Irish coffees to warm our hearts .
