Food was great
Great place especially in good weather. Portions are huge but food very good. Always a fun experience...
I had no idea where I was going. I was amazed by the sand under my feet, the chairs at the ocean, the views, the food, the Mango drink and the ambience. I live in Newport Beach, but I'll be back!!!
We were in California for a few day, LA then Dana Point. You know, this was the best meal we had the entire trip.
......and a LOT less expensive then the other places.
I get it but I don't have to like the parking charges if you're eating there but as a fun, casual, out-of-the-way place on the water with really good food? Go here.
Valentine’s Day event was lovely. Roses and very nice servers.
Excellent as usual
Very good food and the café is really cosy, also a fantastic location!
The manager and staff were great and very helpful.
Family in town
Had a great time, great service and the food was delicious. My wife had lobster, I had steak, both very good. We sat next to a window which is about 50 feet from the ocean ... so nice!!! Had a great time and will definitely go back!!!
Great Atmosphere, nice and relaxed. Reasonable, good food and service.
We were celebrating a friend’s new job. We brought in a surprise dessert and the team was spectacular at making it look beautiful and caring about what we wanted to accomplish. Greg was our waiter. And the manager was also quite kind.
The food, although in very large portions, was essentially tasteless. Their special Clam Chowder was especially tasteless as was their fried Calamari. This restaurant is by the sea and is claimed to be an excellent seafood restaurant. I've had much tastier seafood at Fish n'Chips.
We are traveling in the West and stopped for lunch after hearing such glowing reviews. PCBC is exactly what you would expect for a beach bar; noisy with an emphasis on alcohol and seafood. With so many homeless in Cali, I don’t know how they justify the massive portions. So much food gets waisted.
Beautiful restaurant and perfect for a date!
Food was good. The issue that my wife and I had was with the service. After we got seated; we had to flag a waiter down after 20 minutes . No one came by to introduce themselves as our server. The guy who took his our food/drink order was nice but he wasn’t our server. My wife had a hard time as her starter clam chowder came after we got the main course. She didn’t want it but she felt bad for the guy who brought out the food. The fish and chips that she ordered was a kids size and not a normal size. Our experience is that the service is a hit or miss for us.
We had the iced seafood sampler which was delicious. It would have been a nice touch to include bread or chips for the ceviche. When we asked our waiter if they had chips, he brought us a bowl of mostly broken chips and we were charged $5 for a side of chips. The hot seafood sampler was also very tasty, especially the coconut shrimp, calamari, ribs, and battered fish. There was a large amount of fries as well. My only complaint was that some of the calamari was clumped together into a softball sized ball and there was undercooked calamari and batter which was inedible. Lastly, the key lime pie is more like cheesecake with a very faint hint of lime.
Daughter’s birthday. Service was great
My wife and I went for breakfast/brunch because I wasn't working.
Food was good, but not WOW good, but presentation and quantity can't be beat. Service above average. View and location great. Now have to pay $6.00 WITH validation where as paid nothing last time so costs are higher.
Been there before and will return again.
The view was amazing. You can’t beat the location but the food was greasy and tasteless.
We celebrate all our birthdays there, and feast on the huge slice of birthday cake for the next 3 days
Warm winter southern California afternoon, slightly overcast, eating clam chowder and drinking a glass of wine on the beach at an uncrowded, no-wait Paradise Cove Beach Cafe -- life doesn't get any better!
Service was excellent and very friendly. The beach is really the reason to come and it doesn’t disappoint! Beautiful ocean views and access.
Food was average.
Didn’t acknowledge the celebration
For an hour getaway from Los Angeles afternoon, Paradise Cove is a nice option. Drive along the coast on old Highway 1, north of Malibu drive down a private road to a cove on the beach. Sit at a window table looking out over the ocean a few yards away, and dine on comfort food. What coule be better?
We ordered and shared the Barcelona Seafood Platter around $70.00 and began with a shared Caesar Salad. This is a beer experience and we shared an IPA. We also ordered a Cakebread Chardonnay that was overpriced at $18.95 a glass. Stick with beer. Very friendly serving staff. We could have started by sitting on chairs on the beach, sipping something before dinner, watching sunset. It' a long drive from LA but sometimes you need to get away and this is a good choice.
Great location, on the water. food mediocre at best. VERY overpriced--quality of food not great. I would MUCH rather go to Malibu Farm..
Go here only for a drink and to share a dish.
Great beach-front location. Large portions. Always a treat!
Right on the beach. Beautiful spot. Very touristy but still worth a stop. Larger portions!
Get location, right on the beach, great views is all it has going for them. The menu is terrible to be honest ribs and cheese burgers on the ocean/beach? No... should be all fresh seafood... it’s on the beach. I get that it’s expensive but $20 for a cheese burger... they just capitalize on cheap food products to sell to customers maximizing profits x4. This place is for the vibes and views not for the low quality food.
