Paradise Cove Beach Cafe
As always, the food, service and ambiance were wonderful!
When the pasta straw is the most memorable part of your meal, you know you should have gone somewhere else. To start, reservations here don't actually mean much. You'll get put in the same queue as everyone else that just walks up...and, to boot, if you ask for a table with a view, you'll end up with a table four rows back from the ocean looking at four hipsters, rather than the ocean at sunset.
The food is perhaps slightly above average. The menu is heavy on seafood, as expected, but there isn't anything special. The big prawns were the best part, next to the apple crumble dessert. The rest of the fish, mussels and clams were just, meh.
Parking is also an interesting surprise, since this basically located at a public park, you'll end up paying $10 after validation to park yourself (there is no valet, but that probably would be out of place with the vibe anyway).
At the end, if you happen to actually get seated with a view, perhaps the prices are worth it. Otherwise, over $50 per person (without booze) for average food in a noisy place with old pictures on the wall can be had just about anywhere else in LA, without the drive up the PCH.
Swordfish sandwich was amazing
Nice view and ambience! Service was great and fast but the customers don't feel rushed.
Bloody Mary's were great and spicy, and will make them milder if wanted.
It was terrific!
Overall it was noce
The place was packed on Valentine’s Day but the service was excellent
Nice beach with nice view. Waited 45 minutes for an oversized (and priced) bowl of calamari. Parking was $$$.
The drinks were delicious and the food was mouth watering! This was our first time here and we have already made plans to come here at least twice a month. It was very quiet and tucked away from all the craziness of city life. It felt like we were on a private island... our feet in the sand while we ate, listening to the ocean lap the shore. My husband and I both highly recommend Paradise Cove!
A new fave of ours, 2nd time coming here :)
Love the laid back atmosphere and of course the views!!!!!! Food is delicious and they serve very large portions.
We had a wonderful time. Great food, table, suggestions but what made the experience the best was our server who was on his second day of probation. I would have thought he had worked at Paradise Cove for Twenty years. We had our neighbor, took him for hearing aids to LA, Gordonloved the experience. Thanks Paradise Cove for making this so awesome
Lovely evening out! Food was very good
Location is brilliant
Ridiculous cost for
Parking even with validation
We loved the food!!! Our she-crab soup was incredible and the fish and shrimp tacos were outstanding. The menu indicates the soup will serve 2 people and that was absolutely accurate. There was also ample fish and shrimp in the tacos to share with 2 people.
I love this restaurant. Fabulous view, good food, friendly staff.
You come here for one thing and that’s the view!! The food is fine. Portions are huge as are the drinks. The service is average at best. It’s a great location and fun to run around on the beach after. Feels like vacation
Jut have to dsay that it was the first time what been disappinted. The burger was a mess and falling apart on the plate, plus it was cold. Then the salad came which we had to ask for because w told the server we wanted them together. Then when we were ready to leave, we asked fo the salad to be put in a take home box. The box was put in a bag and because it was not closed properly, it opened up all over the bag. The waitress looked at it and said oh sorry.
Hi! I experienced Paradise Cove this weekend for the first time and it was a pleasant experience regarding the beach ambiance. I would recommend Paradise Cove Beach Cafe to someone who is more enthused about the beach experience more than the dining. The cafe is cool but the real experience is the beach. Great location to dine on the beach. You can literally dine with sand in your toes for outdoor seating or in a booth for standard seating. This is a family-friendly place so do expect to experience with kids. Very family-oriented but definitely can buy alcoholic beverages and drink bottles on the beach! My only con with the day at the parking price ($50 weekend/holiday rate even if you dine and purchase bed on the beach). The restaurant only validates for up to 4hours ($10 parking) for dine-in patrons. I spent $60 on a bed to be enjoyed for more than 4hours as well as spent $150+ on food/drinks only to end my time at Paradise Cove with a $50 parking ticket. Patrons who spend $100+ between dining and beach purchases should NOT have to pay $50 to park if we are spending funds in restaurant and with beach attendees for Paradise Cove. Who wants to drive all the way to Malibu to experience four (4) hours only to avoid absurd parking fees?
Everything was great!
Beautiful views and cool atmosphere! Portions are huge. Definitely meant to be shared.
Roberto is an awesome waiter. Good food, phenomenal views!
Go for the view and the beach, not for the food. Food is just ok, very overpriced. Parking is $10. If you plan to stay and play on the beach for a couple hours, it’s worth it. But definitely a once in a while/special occasion type of place.
Always a pleasant outing. Make sure you go hungry because all portions are large. It's hard to beat the setting on the beach in Malibu.
We took out out-of-town visitor for brunch. While the now seedy- looking place from the outside is a fabulous spot to enjoy a really nice meal while enjoying the seaside location, the prices have climbed to the almost-too-high side, while the plating of relatively unexciting fare could use a bit of pizzaz.
And, it’s a real shame that they removed their amazing buffet several years ago, when it was a ‘go-to’ place for weekend brunch.
Just another victim of the economy.
Our waiter was great. The food was just as we like it. Not too busy.
Had a wonderful afternoon relaxing in the Adirondack chairs by the beach enjoying a glass of wine while we waited for our table. Once we were seated we thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. The seared ahi sandwich and coleslaw were delicious. Another guest had crab cakes and said they were very good too. Overall and perfect Saturday afternoon/evening.
Heard about this place for so long decided to celebrate the birthday and New Year with my family. The location is only positive aspect of the day. Clam chowder was powdery and too creamy. Fried Calamari had fishy smell. Fish taco was fishy and not fresh at all. Old and dingy atmosphere presented as not kept restaurant. Restroom was not maintained to the point the public restroom in the parking was cleaner.
We expected at least fresh seafood for lunch, but I ended up getting sick a couple of hours later. Nearly $200 lunch and mediocre service. Don’t recommend this place to anyone!
Have been many times. Cant beat the location right on Malibu beach. But very expensive for what you get. Food quality not as good as I remember.
Everything was wonderful. Always enjoy this spot. Gorgeous view.
Fantastic food and service on the beach !! Highly recommend a visit
One server only in the outside running around.
Hervorragende Aussicht auf das Meer, freundlicher Service. Gutes Essen.
Service was a challenge. Otherwise the food was good and the location was nice.
Loved it! Food and service were great and the view was wonderful!
Paridise Cove Cafe is a great place to treat out of town visitors to a Malibu beach experience. We've done this with our guests and it never disappoints.
Portions are gigantic.
Beautiful Beachside Cafe. The portions are monsterous, and most items can be shared. Family style item can feed 6-7 people. Expect to wait at least an hour if you don't have reservations.
Always love to go here! Calamares and seafood paella are my favorite! ❤️❤️
Great view, yummy food, gets quite busy, be ready to spend a few hours there to have the best time :)
We come here as a traditional New Years Day meal for over 20 years (not including other times). Though the food, service and overall atmosphere hasn’t changed it seems that maintaining the physical plant has been lacking. Propane space heaters were in disrepair and didn’t work and the chairs outside could use some fresh paint to begin the New Year. On positive note the server was (never had a bad one actually) EXCELLENT on a very busy day. Food was GREAT and our wait, with a reservation, was minimal (about 30 minutes). That damn $10.00 parking charge still gets me PO’d, and impacts my decision point each time we talk of going, but I overcome it ... for now.
I love going to Paradise Cove, it’s a great experience and the food is really good. The service isn’t always great though, fortunately for us we walked in a few minutes early and got sat immediately as there can be substantial waits at peak times.
