Korean
We are a 40-seat neighborhood restaurant that serves globally inspired cuisine, that we like to call Korean American. Please understand although we strive to serve food and drink with distinction we are still a small independent family run restaurant. No smoke and mirrors here. Just food from the heart. Our space is limited and our staff is small. We believe that we have the ability and resources to make all of our guests happy while dining in our "home" (as we see it). It can get loud in here when we are full but we believe this adds to the convivial atmosphere we provide. We are always happy here and this shows in the spirit of our restaurant. We look forward to serving you with all of our hearts and a smile!

One of the best experiences I had food wise. The service was exceptional and the food was sublime. Even when we got there a little early they made accommodations for us to sit and enjoy some drinks. Special thanks to our server Laura who we took a pic. Thanks for everything.

9:30 PM reservation...but we were seated closer to 10:30 PM due to operational mishaps on their end. Barely even got an apology, which would have been fine IF the food had been good. However, food quality was surprisingly poor for its fame and price-level. Stale banh xeo, overly cheesy lobster, ridiculously salty maeuntang (all complexities removed from the original dish, and instead just overloaded with salt). Sugary / cheap tasting cocktails...no nuance. The vibe was whack as well - a mix of old suburban looking people whose taste buds for Asian cuisine were likely curated on a life of strip-mall chain food like PF Changs, and mid-20s to mid-30s fratty state-school types who think high price + dim lights = high taste and quality. Also worth mentioning that the atmosphere was uncomfortably tight and loud (and not in a cute way).

If you decide to ignore this review and eat there anyway, do the following experiment - close your eyes, and imagine you're at an Asian food court. Take a bite of the food, and you'll see what I mean when I say Parachute is trying to use pizzazz and faux-upscale elements to mask strange versions of cheap tasting Asian food, minus the nuances of the flavors, plus a bunch of salt.

I didn't expect I would like this restaurant as much as I did, having been disappointed at other 'award winning places in the city. But all the awards were well deserved The food was excellent. The flavors were bold and bright and captured the essence of Korean food. My whisky sour cocktail was one of the best I've tasted. We plan to come back soon

This restaurant is very unique and quaint with excellent service! We did the tasting menu and it was very reasonably priced and fun to taste an assortment of items! The service is excellent. There was one item on the tasting menu we disliked, and when the waiter and manager realized we were not loving our dish, they gave us an option to choose one of three other dishes, and gave us a new dish free of charge. Since the menu has some more exotic items, when I return I will probably order straight off the regular menu rather than do the tasting menu. However, overall my experience was excellent, and the tasting menu is a great value!

Service and servers were the best. There just before you realized you needed them and otherwise let you enjoy meal. Crowded but noise level still allowed conversation.
Food: oyster appetizer was outstanding. The rest not so much. The other 3 dishes were just ok. Noting bad but after all the hype and at the price point we expected great flavors. Food didn't have that and some relatively flavorless. So disappointed

"Off the Cuff", which is Parachute's tasting menu, was a two and a half hour delight! The chef selection covered all the bases with the highlights being their Tuna Crepe, Beef Carpaccio, homemade kimchi, ridiculously good deserts. Complementing the meal was expert service by our waitress Clare who was spot on with drink recommendations throughout the night.

I truly enjoyed this place, and the service was amazing, very personal. The food was amazing, but the menu was limited (like 12 items) and I left still hungry. The potato bread and lobster were out of this world. There’s is something so familiar about the potato bread, yet there’s no mistaking it’s something you’ve never tasted before. The lobster you will never get out of your head. Again, the down side is the limited menu, and honestly - it was expensive.

We had a wonderful experience at Parachute. We dined at the bar and the place had great energy. The food
was very inventive and lots of flavors and textures. The broccoli, potato bread and tuna crepe were all highlights. They had a fun wine list with lots of natural wines that was geared to pair with their menu.
Great experience. Definitely recommend.

I have been looking forward to dining at Parachute for a while. It was well worth the wait! The food was delicious, the ambiance was fun, and the service was amazing. Chef Beverly Kim even served us and talked with us for a bit! She is humble and so kind after winning the JBFA for best chef! Made us love the experience more!

Parachute is a sublime, excellent addition to Chicago’s restaurant scene. Their Michelin Star is well-deserved and the staff passionate about the restaurant. Parachute is a great addition to Logan Sq as well and people who live downtown or in Lakeview should take an easy Uber there and experience it - you won’t regret it!

Food was excellent and portions were reasonable. However, for its location and style of cuisine it is overpriced. I felt like everything I ordered should have been priced three to four dollars less per item. This is especially true given the location; there is no excuse of abnormally high rent in this portion of Logan Square.

This restaurant prepares incredible food and drinks. Their staff are knowledgeable and helpful when exploring the drink and food menu. It was difficult to have a conversation with my partner as the shared table we were at created a larger space between us than I would have preferred. There were also many patrons in a small space, but overall this was a great experience and I will happily return. Thank you for sharing your talents!

I highly enjoyed my dinner at Parachute. The initial preparation of bread and pickle dishes were very good, interesting. The highlight of the main dishes was the mackerel dish. The tartare dish was very good, also the tuna taco,. The broccoli salad was excellent. The non alcoholic Reisling was good not amazing. Overall a mix of excellent dishes and good to very good dishes. Would go back but in the competitive Chicago scene will try others before returning to Parachute. Reasonable value.

Awesome experience - came to celebrate a birthday. Friendly staff, recommended 2 dishes from each section of the menu. We went with the potato bread (unique and delicious), oysters (super fresh), the broccoli salad (MUST TRY, NOT A JOKE), tteokbokki (almost like an Italian sauce on tteokbokki, wasabi mackerel (perfect textures, awesome flavors), and the pork ssam (ridiculously soft, melts in your mouth). Ended with a coffee and maple creme caramel (deep, rich, almost smoky maple flavor)

Want to try the “off the cuff” menu, next time!

There is a lot of hype about the restaurant so we thought we would try it for a birthday. Two main courses came out cold lobster and short rib. Appetizers were good and so was pistachio broccoli salad. But everything seemed very rushed and like they were more interested in the regulars and getting us off the table. We were in and out of the restaurant in 45 min. Check was put down before offered dessert. So chugged the bottle of wine and left haha. Really disappointed in the overall experience. I really wanted to like the place especially since we just moved into the neighborhood.
