Pappas Restaurant - Parkville
The services was terrible this evening. The timing of the food was off a lot too. One soup cane out. No oysters? Oops...those were not put in?! Entrees cane and were not up to par. Side ceases salad was missing....had to flag waitress down. Dirty dishes were not cheated between courses. Not very happy and I frequent here a lot. Seems like a lot of new servers and not up to speed.
Seating was fast, we had a server right away. The food was fast & good. I can’t wait to go back. I also love their white sangria! The only downfall are the tables are close together & the space is pretty tight.
Services and Food was great. The atmosphere was was a slow go at first. Some very rude couple was seated next to us and their phones kept ringing loudly offensive rap music. After they left the atmosphere very much improved.
Food and service was fabulous. I made the reservation only 1 hour ahead of time. However, the site indicated the time was available. When we arrived at the designated time, the hostess said she was waiting for the diners, whose table she reserved for us, got up to leave. When we were still waiting after 30 minutes and questioned it she, justified the wait by pointing out I only made the reservation an hour before. She gave me an explanation as to why the site said the time was available which I took as - “that’s your problem.” The other hostess was more sensitive in “managing” us. We were seated 40 minutes after our reserved time.
We had an excellent experience.
Five of us went to Pappas Restaurant for their world famous collosal crab cakes and we were not disappointed. It was my son's birthday and he had a large rib eye steak and beer choices were great!
I've been to Pappas several times and have not been disappointed. Last visit was with two of my girl friends. On a Sunday, at noon. The food, wait staff and ambiance were all excellent. I would highly recommend Pappas. I always get the crab cakes but I've seen other food that comes out and all looks very appetizing.
pappas is always worth the trip. waitress is always well versed in they they offer and is very polite and willing to be helpful if needed. we've never been disappointed. thank you for another great experience.

We went for lunch: good seafood, nice service, easy parking in rear
The crab cake and tartar sauce remain awesome. Two tables celebrated birthdays while we were eating dinner.
Wonderful restaurant with surprising quaint ambiance in contrast to outside of restaurant.
Dinner at Pappas is always worth the trip. It is my 'go to" place. The Crab Imperial is second to none.
Great food and friendly service. Can't beat the crab cakes.
Everything was awesome. Only complaint was that the table wasn’t bused throughout the meal as well as it could have been. Server was awesome. Food was awesome.
Food is always fantastic. Service was adequate. Seating is the only challenge. We had reservations and were seated right away even though it was crowded. But when and where we were seated, was not good. I was within a foot of the person's chair behind me. Tables are way to close together.
Best crab cakes in Maryland! My husband and I went for Valentines and it was perfect. Great food and great service.
Overall,it was a nice experience Valentine's day weekend. The appetizer and entree were served piping hot. The cucumber salad was a refreshing and tasty surprise. The rolls should not have been served. The calamari with the jalapeno peppers was delicious. The signature crab cake was fresh, and full of lump crabmeat. It was good but could have used a little spice. The "jacknife potatoes" are a must.
We will likely visit again during a non holiday period.
Wonderful ; loved it 10/10
We went here for our first time on Valentine's day, so obviously service and atmosphere wasn't what it normally is. Parking was terrible but we were seated pretty much immediately after arriving and informing the host that we had reservations. We only saw our server a handful of times (our water glasses were filled by someone else, food was brought out by I'm assuming a manager, and we never were offered refills on our sodas) but she was pleasant. Seating arrangements were crowded but tables were obviously separated to allow for more parties of 2 than normal. The menu was limited and prices were higher than the regular menu I had seen online, which is pretty standard for Valentine's day. Food didn't take too long to come out considering how busy it was, it was served the at correct temperature, and it was delicious! Now I know why everyone raves about the crabcakes! Overall it was pretty good and we'll likely go back to experience it on a "normal" night soon.
A terrific Valentine's Day dinner at Pappas Restaurant in Parkville. It was our first time eating upstairs. I did not realize how many people the restaurant is able to accommodate. My wife, as usual, had the best drawbacks in town. I had salmon. Both were perfectly prepared and cooked just right. Our server was attentive and most accommodating. What more could we have asked for? It was a great evening out!
This my first. I enjoyed the atmosphere at this location. The special Valentine’s menu was very good, a nice selection of dishes. I will Definitely return to this location.
Beware recycled food! My recent experience dining at Pappas was both shocking and disappointing. It was Valentine's Day dinner so slow service was understandable. However, after patiently waiting for our crab balls, we were disappointed to see them delivered to the wrong table. We knew it was the wrong table because they'd just been seated. Regardless, the crab balls were placed on the wrong table and the wrong people began to eat them. After a few minutes a flustered woman (possibly manager) approached the people eating the crab balls, told them they did not order them and removed what was left of the crab balls from the table. I asked my server if they would be bringing us FRESH crab balls and not try to bring us those exact crab balls that were breathed on and touched by the other patrons. She replied "oh God no! And I told them they better put a rush on them". A few minutes later crab balls were delivered to our table. Here's the kicker... 4 crab balls were cold and 1 crab ball was piping hot. Pappas replaced the single crab ball that was eaten by the wrong table and re-served the other 4 that were touched, breathed on, etc. BEYOND disgusting. I immediatly alerted our server. She did not seem surprised. She removed the crab balls from the table and said she would alert the manager. We never heard from the manager. We also never received edible crab balls. Very disappointing from such a highly rated restaurant.
Food and service great as always I’ve been at this restaurant many times and have never been unsatisfied
Crab cake is spectacular with enormous chunks of crab.
Sides , cole slaw and double cook potato, were very
good as well. Calamari appetizer is a big nothing.
I love Pappas. The food is wonderful. However, I prefer the Glen Burnie location, parking is easier, I love the warm bread with honey butter and the specialty drinks are wonderful. The Parkville location has a lovely fireplace and the sports bar section looks fun. But, for an intimate relaxed meal, I'll stay with Glen Burnie.
It was my birthday, and Pappas didn’t disappoint...the food and service was impeccable. The filet mignon melted in your mouth
Everything was fabulous
Best crabcakes in Baltimore, and always a requested stop for friends and family visiting from afar.
Unfortunately our visit to Pappas Parkville the last two times has been different than the rest. I am thinking there must be a new chef or new kitchen help who are not as seasoned as those previously.
I had the Chicken Chesapeake which is usually a luscious charbroiled moist piece of marinated chicken topped with their wonderful crab imperial. The crab imperial was perfect, my chicken was dry and missing a lot of flavor than I have previously experienced. As this is one of my favorite meals I can truly say things have been tasting differently. The same was true with my husbands steak Christopher. This is an 8 oz strip steak covered with a huge mound of crab imperial. Once again the crab imperial was wonderful but the steak, although very well cooked lacked any flavor or seasoning at all. My husband said it was tasteless. Steak has always been his favorite item on the Pappas menu. We used to go Thursday night for steak night all the time until things changed. I am so sorry Pappas to be leaving this review. Please change back. :( so I can go back to giving you one of my 5 star reviews.
Four of us went for lunch during restaurant week and it was definitely a good value. The service was good. Even though it was very busy you could talk without shouting and our waiter didn't have you thinking he'd forgotten about you. My only problem was dessert. Two of us got the Apple Pie and two got the Lemon Meringue pie and they both tasted like they came out of a box. Everything else was fine.
Service slow, Soda flat. Waitress got off to a bad start. It was restaurant week and my husband and I were upgrading our dessert. Manager yelled across the restaurant saying the dessert menu you have is not includied in restaurant week to the point many customers turned around and looked at us. Everyone is sitting on top of each other and the family next to us did NOT have dining dedicate. This man was opening seasoning and sticking his nose in the container when people who sit at the table after him has to use this seasoning.
The restaurant seemed more crowded and noisy on a Tuesday at 1:30 than I had expected and the crowd slowed down our food delivery more than any time we had dined there before. However, the Restaurant Week special did give us more options for the $25 and we were able to each take home left overs for some delicious memories.
Ive lived in Baltimore for 14 years and have always wanted to visit Pappas! I was so excited but the experience was not at all what I had hoped for. The service was slow and my crabcake came out "flopped" on the plate not formed into a ball. The portion size was small and there was alot of filler. I don't usually write reviews but this was so disappointing! $80 wasted on dinner for two.
we took advantage of restaurant week. the menu was great, the food was awesome and the servers did a great job. we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would have happily paid full price. Best Crab Cake in and around town!!
I was quite pleased. We were seated immediately . Service, food was great!!
Pappa's has the best crab cakes ever. The restaurant was very accommodating. We were 30 minutes late for our reservation. They offered us a 20 minute wait or to be seated in the bar area with no wait. We opted for the bar area. Not as comfortable but we still enjoyed our meal and had great service.
Great place to have lunch with friends. Server was very efficient and courteous. Food was as usual very good. Every one at the table tried something different and they all enjoyed their choices. Looking forward to coming back.
Pappas is very old school. This is the original location and a lot of “old timers” still flock to it. The crab cakes are outstanding and we’re one of Oprah’s Favorite Things a few years ago.
This was my first time dining in the restaurant. I have had the famous crab cakes via carryout, which were excellent. My order was the Mediterranean Rockfish with crab meat on top. Let's say there was hardly any crabmeat on top and the seasoning was lacking in flavor. I fault myself for not just sticking with the crab cakes.
Authentic good food. Splendid strip steaks, salads and service.
