Pappas Restaurant - Parkville
We always have a good experience here. The food is always wonderful and the servers are attentive. It has a local feeling and makes you feel special.
Food is great especially the Roughy, steaks & crab cakes. Services is very friendly.
Tables are a little close together but fine.
Best crab cakes anywhere! Exceptional value for the money. Some rooms are quiet. Others are noisy when full. I live on Long Island and try to get to Pappas in either the Parkville or Cockeyesville locations whenever I go to Baltimore. The Cockeyesville Pappas will make gluten-free crab cakes.
A little expensive for the location but I would have been very happy with the meal at twice the price in New York City. Excellent!
Had the Surf and Turf (crabcake and fantastic filet) .
Although this place has been one of my favorite for years, I was disappointed today. The clam chowder tasted like cream of mushroom soup and the Brussels sprouts were SO overdone that they were just about mush. May be awhile before I return again.
Everything was perfect. We couldn’t ask for a better dining experience.
Waitress and bus boy was great ! Food was good ! Would definitely recommend eating here
It was a lovely dinner, Our waitress was GREAT!!! She didn.t rush us & was so helpful, It was a real joy, to have a quiet dinnezr, Thank you. Dona Calp
P.S> can't wait till next visit..
great food, service great experience. Every time we’re visit them we leave content. Thanks for caring and providing a great service to the community.
This was the first time I was disappointed with the crab cakes. While still good, didn’t have the big lump crab meat it always has in the past.
Made successful reservation. That may sound easy, but some restaurants can’t follow through, so it will as appreciated. Food was pretty good. Rolls were undesirable tho. Server was sufficient.
Excellent food and service, could not ask for a better evening out with family and friends !
A local ledge serving crab cakes and steaks. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant has an old school, traditional feel to it. There is also a separate bar, liquor store, take out joint and fish market.
After all these years living in Baltimore this was our first time here. Our neighbor recommended it. I am often on Taylor Ave, passing all the establishments. Given the “feel” one gets from the outward appearance of some of these older buildings, we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere; white linen table cloths, wait people with ties......Staff was very attentive without being intrusive. We were served by Rachel, she was enthusiastic without being too “perky.” Crab cakes speak for themselves.
We were not pleased with the location of our reserved table, but we were easily relocated to a more quiet area. Our server was kind, gracious and very accomodating. Our dinners were as ordered and quite delicious. The seafood was fresh and excellently prepared. We appreciated the fact that we were not hurried and that we were able to relax into our time together. Parking was easy and the ramp was much appreciated.
Wonderful staff every time we go. The crab cakes are the best around and the salmon Dijon was so so so good. Half price bottles of wine on Mondays is also a great deal.
I hadn’t been to Pappas’ in a few years but remembered it being great! It didn’t disappoint and still has one of the best Maryland crab cakes I’ve ever eaten and the service was on point too. I’d strongly recommend this restaurant!
OMG I got there 45 minutes before my family showed up so I went over to the bar and had a fantastic margaritta w/patron and the barmaid (she was pregnant) was very sweet. It was only around 5:15 so that gave me time to enjoy my drink since my reservations were for 6pm. Once my party arrived we all sat down and had a drink, appitizers and our meal. everything was outstanding. Thank you for such a great experience
The food was good---crab cakes and several other dishes with crab. However the bread rolls were stale and tasteless. That part of the meal needs improvement. EW
Excellent food and excellent service! Will definitely be going back.
Date night with wife.
I was not impressed with the sides.....the crab cake was great.....the best!
This is our go to place for crab cakes. Can't remember the last time I had one some place else because I don't want to be disappointed when it's not as good as Pappas'.
Wonderful restaurant with delicious food and attentive service!
Weekend visitors asked where to get a really good crab cake, and the answer we give is always the same, Pappas in Parkville. Not downtown, not fancy, a little tight on seating in the main room, but always reliable on the food, service and quality of the experience. We've been trusting pappas for many years, never let us down. Crabcakes of course, but plenty of other excellent options, for me this trip, while I watched our visitors work their way through their crab cakes was the Fra Diavalo. . .multiple seafoods (including huge chunks of crab) over linguine covered in a moderately spicy red sauce.
Nice place over all
Always consistent and great to meet a friend for lunch.
I was ripped off by the staff. On the menu, what I ordered said $10 a shot. My bill was $19 a shot and I didnt see it until I left thinking they were a honest business...WRONG!!! They robbed me for$27 for 3 shots that should have been $30 and not $57!!!! I'm so disappointed and will let all my friends and family know.
Outstanding as always. We all had something different...crab cake, stuffed shrimp, chicken marsala, rock fish. All were yummy!
The service was friendly, the food was outstanding. The cheese cake with carmal was excellent as well. Great wine special several times a week. I will be going back for sure.
Superb crabcake. Had the vegetables of the day (brussel sprouts and green beans) which were both over cooked. Reasonably priced. Service good. relatively casual dining atmosphere. OK for groups, kids, couple, parties, etc
Microcenter Parkville recommended this restaurant. Phenomenal food (especially the crabcakes) and service. We will definitely be back!
Coming from Raleigh/ Durham North Carolina many times over the years to visit our friends- we visited this restaurant before and we were not disappointed this trip.
The crab cakes are what a born Marylander wishes for when living in NC- as many have tried to create a great crab cake here- but the best are found here!
Very good food, reasonably priced.
We thought the crab cakes were some of the best we’ve had. They had large chunks of crab & less breading than others we have tried. They were not that busy when we arrived but it took FOREVER to get our food. 45 minutes after we ordered, the food finally arrived. Our waitress was difficult to find & when we had requests it took 5-10 minutes to get what we requested (other than the sour cream which I never received). Waited 10-15 minutes to get our check paid. Overall based on the service, I would not revisit. Crab cakes were good but not worth spending 1.5 hours in a restaurant for when there are many other options.
While the service was excellent, and food food, we were cramped next to another table, with a gentleman so close so us I could hear more of what he said than my husband.
We absolutely loved our crab cakes. The cream of crab soup was excellent as well. Our server, Kathleen was attentive and knowledgeable. It was a great meal.
It was wonderful, our group had come from Arlington National Cemetery from my husbands burial and dinner and drinks enjoyed by all. First time on second level, not too pleased with that, but the highlight was being graciously welcomed by Mr. Pappas.
The crab cakes that both friends are still excellent and very large. I had the spinach pie w/a small Greek Salad and it was delicious. I also got a cup of the crab bisque and it was delicious. I had not seen my two girl friends for 9 mos. and they let us catch up and did not rush our lunch! It was perfect!!!
Great crab cakes. I opted for the burger which was great also. Service was very good but it tends to be loud in the restaurant.
