Pappas Restaurant - Glen Burnie Ratings and Reviews
Our server, Diana, was wonderful - kept our glasses full and checked back often. The collosal crab cake and rib-eye were excellent. Tonight's special was prime rib. Two people in our party ordered the prime rib - one medium rare and the other medium. The cook obviously does not know how to cook, prepare, or serve prime rib. Prime rib should be roasted as a whole roast, and sliced right before serving. How then do both sides of the cuts served come out totally brown and brown all of the way through? Serving au jus with it does not make up for the fact that you've dried out the cut of meat. That's not how it should be prepared or served. Should not advertise prime rib night if you don't know how to prepare it.
We met some friends for dinner and we're glad we made reservations as the restaurant was crowded. We all enjoyed the crab cake platter with a baked potato. We were pleased to find that the crab cakes were discounted. We all decided to share a piece of coconut cake for dessert - that too was quite tasty. We look forward to a return visit.
We held my mother in laws's surprise birthday dinner here. We had about 30 people in our party and our waiter was nothing short of amazing. I believe his name was Brian or Brandon (sorry I'm bad with names) he was patient with our guest and even helped me with presenting my mother in law her birthday cake. I would diffidently recommend Pappas.
We love going to Pappas for the crab cakes! We have tried them from many different restaurants but we like the ones at Pappas the best. What makes them so good is they are so full of jumbo lump crab meat in every bite. We recommend Pappas to everyone looking to eat a good crab cake!
The food is consistently good and sometimes great, and the service is top notch. The only issue we have with Pappas is the very limited wine list. Although our most recent meal was superb, the wine was totally lacking. We ordered their top shelf Chardonnay, which proved to be extremely disappointing. We really enjoy a nice wine with our meal, but Pappas continues to fall short in this critical area. We'll continue to visit Pappas in hopes that they strive to improve the quality of their wine list.
We heard from a friend the crab cakes were exceptionally good, so we gave it a whirl. We were not disappointed. Although it takes 25 minutes or so to get served, it was well worth the wait. Two amazingly huge delicious crab cakes with little filler. We hit the right night since it was Wednesday and crab cakes were the special of the evening not knowing beforehand. This restaurant is a definite repeat and worth the drive from Ellicott City. All thumbs up!
I enjoyed the food; but one table of patrons were very loud and ignorant. They were throwing out racial slurs and cursing like sailors. The food was great and our waitress was great. There was a bit of a wait, but that's to be expected when one of our party guest was late and held us up a bit. I still would give it another try.
I visited Pappas in January and loved the crab cake so I recommended that a group of friends meet there after our beach week. The food was consistently good, the waitress could not have been nicer to us. We had 1230 reservations, arrived at 1220 and the table was ready (I would have preferred a table that wasn't next to the door, but the place was crowded and so I was happy to have a place to eat!). We were not rushed, in fact the place quieted down around 130 and our waitress told us to relax and enjoy being together - we left around 4!
Food here is always great and the prices are reasonable. We come here often and are never disappointed. This was the celebration of an 89th birthday for a gentleman in our party. I mentioned it to the waitress as well when I made the reservation. I had hoped they would do something special for the gentleman.
Crabcakes that we ordered to go usually the best were terrible. Overly spicy and full of filler. When I called to complain I was told by a "manager " that since we had eaten them we were out of luck. I can understand that but I could have at least gotten
an "I'm sorry that you didn't feel that they met our standards". We usually go to Cockeysville but may rethink that as well.
