Pappas Bros. Steakhouse - Galleria Ratings and Reviews
I went to Pappas Bros. Steakhouse today for the first time to celebrate my birthday. I was not too impressed with the food. I had the filet and it was very salty and not as tender. The key lime I got was so sweet that I only took two bites and had to throw the rest away. The restaurant was freezing cold and loud. Now I can I say that I tried this restaurant but I don’t think I will ever go back. It was not worth the $200 we paid for two people.
I’m a steak snob. Never can find a restaurant to cook one anywhere close to what I can prepare on my own grill. I’m a native Houstonian and have heard of this place my whole life. At 45 years old I finally tried it. Holy cow it is spectacular!!! Their ribeyes are dry aged 45 days and are PHENOMENAL!!! Best restaurant serving the best meal I have ever eaten. Potatoes Au Gratin with Aparagus sides, Pecan and Key Lime Pie were all fabulous. Their Wine List has 4,000 items!! What a wonderful way to spend an Anniversary dinner with my love!
Celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. Every staff member that we interacted with wished us a happy anniversary! Food was amazing and the waiter was amazing at recommending wine. Crab and mac side dish was amazing! Filet did not disappoint! Can't wait to go back!
Everything was wonderful until our steaks- they were rather bland, we were expecting a flavorful juicy steak and they just weren’t up to par. The scallop appetizer was excellent! Dessert was excellent- table was crowded for 4 and they took the lamp away so we could hardly see and had to use phones to check how our steak was cooked!
Food was amazing as always but the server we had was taking priority of the other tables and just kept overlooking us and although we looked younger than other we are still paying for the service and food as any other customer other than that the food was amazing as usual and the environment was great
I had not been to Pappas in a long time. I always remembered it for having excellent food. This time the salad dressing had too much vinegar and the steak was just O.K. My friend said her salad dressing was not what she expected her seafood was just O.K. The overall dinner was not worth the cost.
Everything was really top quality and delicious. The fois gras was over the top decadent and My bone -in filet cut like butter.
I had the peach cobbler and ice cream for dessert and loved every bite!
Will definitely put this on my list for another special occasion.
Pappas Bros was able to accommodate our party growing from 7 to 10 on a busy Friday night. Service was outstanding; filet cooked to perfection and delicious. Wedge salad great starter; sides at table: creamed spinach; mushrooms; mashed potatoes; steak fries; au gratin potatoes; with no complaints. Cheesecake was mile high and gooey pecan pie helped close out a wonderful meal.
The food was wonderful. Pappas Bros. is our place to go for special occasions when we're in Houston. The food and service are always excellent. We were seated in the bar, at a booth, and found that it was way too noisy for us to talk quietly with each other. Would prefer to sit in the main dining room next time. We will definitely go back again.
Restaurant was outstanding !! Great service, atmosphere, and food and wine was great!! Had the porterhouse for 2 !!! Bacon wrapped scallops appetizer was amazing !! The wine list is outstanding no matter what region of the world you would like to taste. Will recommend highly to all friends who travel to Houston and we will be back!!
