Pappas Bros. Steakhouse - Galleria Ratings and Reviews
First time in 20 years that Pappas Brothers disappoints me. The food was outstanding as usual but the service was average to mediocre. Our waiter was disinterested and never available when we needed something. We ordered a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino, the sommelier opened and decanted it and served our first glass. We had to pour the rest of the glasses we drank. Our steaks arrived and the waiter didn’t asked if the steaks were cooked as ordered. We dined there one week earlier (a group of 7) and service was perfect as usual. It’s amazing how one person’s lack of training can spoil the experience.
We all know the reputation of this place as one of the best restaurants in town.
It certainly is the most expensive, I’ll grant you that.
I find it greatly overrated and a relatively poor value. Very expensive, very noisy, but I guess a great place for expense-account dining.
The food? Not impressive, just showy.
Open table got us the reservation we wanted when calling the main reservation line couldn't get us a table until much later. Started at the bar for a great selection of single-malt scotches. Skipped the appetizers but great complementary bread. My lamb chops were prepared perfectly and tasted great- very mild lamb flavor. My wife's filet was ordered medium well and came out medium but was otherwise excellent. Side asparagus was very good. Desert was the chocolate cake (split single order) which was moist with a side of soft vanilla ice cream and fantastic coffee. Overall a great evening. Only down-side is the noise but we were able to carry on our conversation fine, so no ding on a score, just not "intimate".
Very well maintenance building,
Clean, professional service.
Good steaks, little too rich they
add butter to everything,
Leaving the dry age meats flavors behind the butter.
Same with sides order.
Service very professional maybe, they follow the book to much (little of their own personality could be good).
Excellent wine list.
Don’t think that TV in the main dinning
is a good spot, for such a beautiful Building.
I went to Pappas Bros. Steakhouse today for the first time to celebrate my birthday. I was not too impressed with the food. I had the filet and it was very salty and not as tender. The key lime I got was so sweet that I only took two bites and had to throw the rest away. The restaurant was freezing cold and loud. Now I can I say that I tried this restaurant but I don’t think I will ever go back. It was not worth the $200 we paid for two people.
