We had a lovely dinner pre-theatre. Service was first rate.
First time to Downtown location and was not equal to original/Westheimer location which we have enjoyed since the first week it opened. Steaks were overcooked and brussel spouts were cold, but due to the business nature of the meeting, I did not lodge a complaint.
Our steak was bland and the brussel sprouts were very bitter. The salads were your every day side salad nothing spectacular. The service was very good and friendly (Katy and Phillip). The bread and drinks were good but I can't see myself returning as the food was very average. We have gone to the Galleria one in the past but I think overall Pappas has gone downhill in quality of their food overall.
amazing dinner with friends. Pappas is always a great place to go and the food and service is amazing. Their wine selection is also far superior to any other restaurant in Houston.
Excellent high-end menu for the complete steakhouse with seafood options and special appetizers. Very friendly bartender with a flare and creative cocktail menu. We had a very special evening in the wine room - outstanding ambiance as well!
Amazing food! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Top notch!
One of the best steak houses in Houston. Super!
The food here is consistently good and a great place for a business dinner. I wish there was some indication on the website that there is valet parking, it would have been very convenient to know that.
It was Pappas so of course it was delicious. The crab cakes were so good we could have had them for dinner instead of appetizers. The steaks were so tender. And the crab macaroni and cheese was so good it left us craving it the next day.
It was a great experience. The food and service was great.
Very good location and meal
Miguel, our server was excellent! He was very personable and had great recommendations.
The service and food was spectacular.
Music was annoying. Service was excellent. Loved the cheesecake.
Excellent service. William was our waiter and did a great job, as did everyone at the restaurant
Thanks to Elliot and the amazing staff at Pappas. Truly a memorable experience for our bucket list adventure.
WE loved dining at this location. In fact, we much prefer it to the Westheimer location. It felt more like a destination. Travis was our waiter and he made the whole evening extra enjoyable. He cheerfully made menu and wine suggestions that were all spot on. I'd highly recommend dining here. We'll be back and we'll be asking for Travis.
Bar is buzzy; comfortable and elegant. Cuisine is guaranteed to be spectacular.
My daughter and I were going to the Hobby Center for a show and I decided we’d enjoy a nice steak. Boy! Were we surprised! The steak was amazing along with the ambience. The waitress was really sweet and very helpful. The food was so tasty and dessert (Pecan Pie) was the best!
Best steak in town. Much noisier than it needs to be. Hard to carry on a conversation.
This is an old-school steak and seafood restaurant. Top notch management was on top of everything. Wine list is extensive but pricy, as usual for this type of place. It was VERY LOUD, the only drawback.
Birthday - it was a nice nighr
The food was great. Wine was great. Waiter was great. But being a African American woman it was very uncomfortable when someone watching you like (I) couldn't afford it. Give a big thanks to Mr. Elliot Wood for watching me an making me have my food to go.
Love the food and service here. But it is SO LOUD. I get it that owners want their restaurants to feel vibrant, but this place needs more sound dampening. We shouldn’t have to shout at our dates to be heard (or is that the way it works?). ; )
Pappas continues to impress after all these years. A Houston staple. The entire restaurant group is phenomenal.
Great service, good food, very loud.
Excellent in every way! Entire staff made our wedding anniversary extra special. Customer service, food and attention to detail was wonderful.
The 16 oz ribeye was the best seasoned steak I have ever had! Service was excellent. Noise level was high. Highly recommend.
I have been to this restaurant several times and always had a wonderful experience until this last time. The food was superb, but that’s all that was up to their usual high standards. Our waiter was obnoxious. In addition to a smarmy attitude he neglected to bring our requested doggie bag. The screaming children and drunken patrons added to an unpleasant noise level. To cap it off several of the valets seemed to disappear so we waited over 20 minutes for our car. Overall a disappointing experience.
The food was amazing and our waiter was awesome!! We told them we were going to the concert, and they had us in and out and delivered everything with a smile!
steak was disappointing. I expected better from Pappas
Worst steaks ever tasted in my life. Cesar salads were prepped maybe a week ago and refrigerated before serving them to us. Waste of hard earned money. Should have known and expected this from a Pappas family restaurant. Service was terrible too. My bad not theirs.
My husband and I went for our first wedding anniversary, which we noted in our reservation. At least a dozen staff members came to congratulate us, there were flowers on the table for us, and we were treated to amazing desserts- while all of this was for a special occasion, I think it speaks volumes to the care this place has for it’s customers. From the hostess to the manager, everyone is knowledgeable on the food and the restaurant, and I have confidence that we would experience equal levels of service each time we return to treat ourselves here.
Melissa was an excellent server, we enjoyed her sense of humor and attention to detail!
Meat quality outstanding! Noise level as well! Otherwise perfet
There’s a lot I can say but simply - it was a top-notch experience and the food was fantastic.
I think if we had been seated in the main dining area I would have maybe taken away a star from my rating because it was pretty noisy in the big room. The smaller side room was perfect for my party of four to talk comfortably.
Had dinner with family member from out of town. Food, service, ambiance was very nice. Food was timely and steaks were cooked appropriately. Asparagus was fresh and delicious. Enough food to take home.
Minor issue: foil was used as a lid on plastic container (instead of an actual lid) for leftovers. Possibly they ran out of lids, but it seemed out of place. Double check packaging of take home portions.
Expensive steakhouse well located in downtown Houston. We let our server know we were headed to Rockets game - and needed to be out in an hour - and service was efficient. My only issue - I ordered a bone in filet mignon (rarely see that on a menu!), medium rare - and it came medium. Overcooked. For a steak house, and a $60+ small steak, I would have expected better. Otherwise, steak was tender and flavorful. The sides were served family style and excellent.
