The atmosphere was great the food was excellent the customer service customer service was just superb
Food is amazing.... prepare yourself for sticker shock if you are not used to a place like this.. but it will be the best steak you have ever eaten....
Great place. Atmosphere was good and the food was fantastic!
A question I always ask myself at the end of dining is was this the experience I hoped for or was it somewhat mediocre? Typically, when I pick a restaurant it’s likely I’ve picked the spot from many options based on what I’m feeling, ambiance and a menu to best flatter my tastes. For this occasion, I wanted to move away from the high-brow, over crowed scene. This place had good reviews and I let the owner know in advance of the experience I was looking for. I will say that he did greet us at the door and pointed us to the small downstairs wine room. Only 3 tables so quaint. The other guests in the room were friendly, first timers same as us. I was appreciative of Milly, our server, as she offered several wine samples to allow us to make a choice. We did finally settle on a selection, ordered an appetizer cheese and charcuterie, then waited 35 minutes. During the wait the noise level picked up from live music upstairs, not too overwhelming but did break the quiet ambiance. Entrees came out, the appetizer had been forgotten, but the meal was welcome as we had been drinking wine with nothing, no bread, etc. for half an hour. The food was good though the scallops were a bit under-cooked for my taste. Squash was excellent. I didn’t realize until later the scallop dish had been deducted from the check. This is a very small establishment and a visit by the owner at the table during dinner to show his interest would have gone a long way to making this a potential repeat for another night.
We absolutely LOVE this place!! We sat in the wine room, so the noise level was low (the main dining areas are pretty loud). The service is amazing and the Sommelier (Simon) was so helpful & full of knowledge. As always, the food was delicious. We tried the bacon wrapped scallops and that is my new favorite - I could've eaten a few plates of those. It was an amazing experience, as always!
Very crowded. Service was lacking for an establishment considered premium. Sommelier was prepared to assist a person new to wine, but not helpful for the experienced wine driver. She was unfamiliar with foreign wine selections. I came prepared to enjoy a Bordeaux or Barolo, but only when I went to a well known California Cab did she have a reliable opinion. Steak was delivered over done. It was replaced by a steak sizzling on a hot plate. This steak was too salty and have the consistency of sushi. Table service was average. The person pouring wine seemed to be kind of lost, pouring only 2-3 ounces in each glass. We had a birthday and appreciated the complimentary dessert for the birthday boy. He chose the gooey pecan pie which after passing around was consistently rated with a 4 out of 10. We had been to Pappas several times before with good results, but this will likely be the last time.
My wife and I don't get out a lot. Kids and sports!! Anyways, Pappa's went above and beyond our expectations. Food was awesome. Service was awesome.
Love everything about the food, from the presentation down to its taste. The atmosphere was the perfect setting for a valentines date for my girlfriend and I. The customer service was impeccable, first time I’ve ever had someone put on my coat for me A1 service.
My wife and I went to Pappas for Valentines day
Every thing was absolutely great and perfect.
Couldn't ask for a better experience
This was a birthday celebration for our youngest's 20th bday. It was what we have come to expect from Pappa's. Great food & great service.
Valentines date. The food and beverages were delectable and top notch as usual! Wonderful dining experience!
Good Food, great service. Very pricey...$13 side salad is a bit much.
Best restaurant in DFW! By far the best steak I’ve ever had! Amazing service, amazing atmosphere.
Best steak in Dallas and the service is impressive.
Disappointed by the food this trip. The lobster appetizer was rubbery and dry. My filet steak (which Pappas Bros is supposed to be noted for) was overdone ( I requested medium). We also ordered the wedge salad - which is usually great, but they are now serving them on smaller plates which makes it more difficult to enjoy and eat. The bread was good but practically disintegrated all over the table (the waiter called it "extra flaky") and plate when we tried to tear off a bite - in fact it took both of us a considerable amount of wrestling to even tear off a piece so that was awkward. We also ordered the asparagus - nothing special there either. The waitstaff was excellent - though a little TOO attentive at times such that it was hard to have a conversation without being constantly interrupted. The wine steward was very helpful and pointed us to a very good bottle of wine that we really enjoyed. My husband also commented on the decor looking dated. Overall, disappointing.
Great restaurant and food. Only negative thing I say is host not knowing we had a resversation and even when I showed her on my phone she still seem dumbfounded.
Amazing food, best steak I have ever had. I had no idea how prestigious Pappas Bros was when I made the reservation. Food was second to none, but so was the impeccable service. 11/10
Our potatoes were EXTREMELY dry, we had to ask for more butter but even that wasn’t enough to make them edible. The guy behind us complained about his mac and cheese being terrible as well! Steak was good, but our reservation was for a $75 vday special and when we arrived our waiter acted clueless and told us it was $90. Our server took a while to come to our table and it was hectic when we first sat down and kinda ruined the mood. Other than that food was good but it was NOTHING like when I came for New Years. Service and food was IMPECCABLE just a month ago. Not aure what happened ths time but I was not very pleased😕
food was great. great wine selections.
Took about 25 minutes to get our drinks. Are our entrees Showed up before we had drinks or bread on the take. Our server try to do her best but it looked like she was running to me tables do not dedicate any time to our table
great service! Celebrated our 12 yr anniversary and dessert was on the house! so kind!! we truly appreciated it!
Great food, great service. Far better than a Ruth Chris type.
One of the best steak dinners my husband and I have had to date. Our server, Louis, was superb and charming. The service overall was what you hope to experience in fine dining-a throwback to when class and elegance was a normal occurance in socializing. The food itself was just plain delicious!
Best steak I had in a while
As always the food was perfect. We had ribeye and sea bass and both were top notch. Service was great, we were seated immediately since we had reservations. The only problem I have and it’s not isolated to Pappas Bros, is we’ve noticed in DFW that when you pay $200 for a meal you get to see people in average to less than average clothing. We were in a high dollar red in Grapevine and people were in there in tank tops and basketball shorts. At least we didn’t see that extreme in Pappas but the number of people in jeans and t shirts blew us away. It’s hard to dress nice for an occasion and then feel comfortable cause your overdressed
Waiter try to up sell you on everything. From $75 an ounce caviar, to $800 bottles of wine to ordering the three most expensive steaks and sharing them between 2 people?!? Had a Wagyu steak and Ribeye. Both average at best. Skillet potatoes tasted old. Bread was the best part of the meal. Went there as it was rated the best Steakhouse in Dallas on a online publication. Must of been one of the brothers who wrote it. Go to Capital Grille, much better.
Wonderful experience right from front door opened for us, to welcoming hostess, to attentive server, to impressive food options, to delicious dessert! Exactly what a top notch restaurant should be!
Boneless ribeye threaded with ligaments. Sad. Filets perfect. Appetizers supurb.
Everything else was superb esp service.
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and kept us smiling. Taking a tour of the wine cellar was a great touch and very informative and Interesting. Thank you for the delicious food and making my birthday memorable. We’re both still raving about everything we experienced and can not wait to come back.
The steaks were good, but not as tender as previous visit.
A bit pricey but still recommend for a special occasion
best place for a steak in dallas! always wonderful service.
Best filet mignon. Great service as well. Definitely a great experience.
Food and service was great along with the ambience. We'll be back
Food was top notch with incredible service and care. Will definitely return.
Staff was very attentive and customer oriented. Service and food was beyond awesome.
My reservation was set at 6:30 and didn’t get seated until 6:55. Waited 11 minutes before we were addressed by the waiter. Order a wedge salad, they left the bacon off. We were finished by the time the waiter brought the bacon. Tea glass ran emptied every single time and we had to ask for the refills. And significant amount of time was spent waiting on him to return for each refill. Say occurred when he offered a desert that took 15 minutes after meal to be served. We didn’t leave until 9:00 and service was worst than have ever had and certainly not in line with the cost of the meal.
We were looking for somewhere new for Valentine's Day this year and thought according to the reviews Pappa's Bros. would be nice. Our experience went down hill after making the reservation almost 5 weeks in advance. We arrived for a 6:15 were told they were a couple of tables behind. At the 30 minute mark I inquired only to hear the exact same response from the hostess. At nearly the 40 to 45 minute mark we were finally called from where everyone waiting was corralled but at this point very frustrated. Understanding it was Valentine's Day the hostess stand still seemed to be in chaos from the time we entered the door. The food was okay and others in the DFW offer the same type menu with a little more organization and unprogrammed host/hostess service.
