Valentines date. The food and beverages were delectable and top notch as usual! Wonderful dining experience!
Best restaurant in DFW! By far the best steak I’ve ever had! Amazing service, amazing atmosphere.
Our potatoes were EXTREMELY dry, we had to ask for more butter but even that wasn’t enough to make them edible. The guy behind us complained about his mac and cheese being terrible as well! Steak was good, but our reservation was for a $75 vday special and when we arrived our waiter acted clueless and told us it was $90. Our server took a while to come to our table and it was hectic when we first sat down and kinda ruined the mood. Other than that food was good but it was NOTHING like when I came for New Years. Service and food was IMPECCABLE just a month ago. Not aure what happened ths time but I was not very pleased😕
food was great. great wine selections.
great service! Celebrated our 12 yr anniversary and dessert was on the house! so kind!! we truly appreciated it!
Great food, great service. Far better than a Ruth Chris type.
One of the best steak dinners my husband and I have had to date. Our server, Louis, was superb and charming. The service overall was what you hope to experience in fine dining-a throwback to when class and elegance was a normal occurance in socializing. The food itself was just plain delicious!
Best steak I had in a while
As always the food was perfect. We had ribeye and sea bass and both were top notch. Service was great, we were seated immediately since we had reservations. The only problem I have and it’s not isolated to Pappas Bros, is we’ve noticed in DFW that when you pay $200 for a meal you get to see people in average to less than average clothing. We were in a high dollar red in Grapevine and people were in there in tank tops and basketball shorts. At least we didn’t see that extreme in Pappas but the number of people in jeans and t shirts blew us away. It’s hard to dress nice for an occasion and then feel comfortable cause your overdressed
Waiter try to up sell you on everything. From $75 an ounce caviar, to $800 bottles of wine to ordering the three most expensive steaks and sharing them between 2 people?!? Had a Wagyu steak and Ribeye. Both average at best. Skillet potatoes tasted old. Bread was the best part of the meal. Went there as it was rated the best Steakhouse in Dallas on a online publication. Must of been one of the brothers who wrote it. Go to Capital Grille, much better.
Wonderful experience right from front door opened for us, to welcoming hostess, to attentive server, to impressive food options, to delicious dessert! Exactly what a top notch restaurant should be!
Boneless ribeye threaded with ligaments. Sad. Filets perfect. Appetizers supurb.
Everything else was superb esp service.
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and kept us smiling. Taking a tour of the wine cellar was a great touch and very informative and Interesting. Thank you for the delicious food and making my birthday memorable. We’re both still raving about everything we experienced and can not wait to come back.
The steaks were good, but not as tender as previous visit.
A bit pricey but still recommend for a special occasion
best place for a steak in dallas! always wonderful service.
Best filet mignon. Great service as well. Definitely a great experience.
Food and service was great along with the ambience. We'll be back
Food was top notch with incredible service and care. Will definitely return.
Staff was very attentive and customer oriented. Service and food was beyond awesome.
My reservation was set at 6:30 and didn’t get seated until 6:55. Waited 11 minutes before we were addressed by the waiter. Order a wedge salad, they left the bacon off. We were finished by the time the waiter brought the bacon. Tea glass ran emptied every single time and we had to ask for the refills. And significant amount of time was spent waiting on him to return for each refill. Say occurred when he offered a desert that took 15 minutes after meal to be served. We didn’t leave until 9:00 and service was worst than have ever had and certainly not in line with the cost of the meal.
We were looking for somewhere new for Valentine's Day this year and thought according to the reviews Pappa's Bros. would be nice. Our experience went down hill after making the reservation almost 5 weeks in advance. We arrived for a 6:15 were told they were a couple of tables behind. At the 30 minute mark I inquired only to hear the exact same response from the hostess. At nearly the 40 to 45 minute mark we were finally called from where everyone waiting was corralled but at this point very frustrated. Understanding it was Valentine's Day the hostess stand still seemed to be in chaos from the time we entered the door. The food was okay and others in the DFW offer the same type menu with a little more organization and unprogrammed host/hostess service.
Always the best and never they disappoint. Service and food is consistently superb!
Great steak! Great service! Very good dessert! No unnecessary seasoning on the steak, just salt and pepper.
If they would trim the price by 20%-25% it would be a better value.
Perfect The waiter was very professional and friendly the food was delicious and they ever gave me a rose for Valentine’s Day how sweet!
Troy our server and Derek our Maher were fantastic. The food, drinks and atmosphere were great as aleays
I had one of the best steaks that I've ever had. I don't think that it's the best value for a steak (I can pay a whole lot less for just a little bit less steak). I don't recommend the mashed potatoes, but the skillet potatoes were amazing. We loved the Steakhouse Salad as well.
Enjoyed Anniversary dinner. They served beautiful complimentary dessert!
The food and service was amazing! Will be back again.
Dinner there was as good as it has ever been. Steaks were perfectly cooked, the lobster bisque is still the best in town and sides and the chocolate cake all rocked. Had outstanding service from Scott and everyone assisting him. Hands down best in town at what they do!
Everyone found the food amazing.
Asking for a beer in a bottle and getting it served in the bottle was impossible
Bathroom stalls were disgusting. Do to digestive distress unrelated to my dining there I required a couple of trips to the bathroom, I had to clean the stools each I used them.
Food and atmosphere was good. However, I was trying to have a business discussion and we were constantly interrupted by waiter trying to up sell us, even after I ask to to chill out. We put in our steak order as per his request before we finished our first cocktail. I specifically ask if it was too early to put the order in because we wanted to talk over a cocktail. Of course, they steaks came out before I finished my salad and 'first' cocktail so I felt he wasn't really listening. Waiter needs to be more sensitive and less focused on "processing' us through.
We were incredibly disappointed in this experience. It was a classic "it's expensive so it must be good" setup, but the emperor was definitely not wearing his clothes last night. We are frequent diners around Dallas and are not put off by high prices in and of themselves, but these prices *did not in any way correspond* to the quality of the steak on offer. Everything was cooked perfectly (1 rare ribeye and 1 medium-rare strip and 1 medium-rare ribeye in our group), but they were lacking in the wonderful marbling and flavor that were expecting for steaks that are priced between $50-$60. The crab cakes, while delicious, were a tiny 2-cake serving at $27. The wines were priced at somewhere between outlandish and absurd (the two we chose were priced at 3x *retail* which means at least 4x wholesale, if not more).
Our waiter managed to be both irritatingly, intensely in our faces most of the time, while never being around when we actually needed him. Our steaks came out about 1 minute after we had finished our appetizers, and as we were wanting to order another bottle of wine, we ended up having to wait more than 10 minutes to actually get the wine list and another few minutes to get the second bottle, at which point we were mostly done with our steaks. The sides were excellent - if over-priced. Maybe you're seeing a theme here? 2 appetizers, 3 steaks, a burrata salad, 2 sides, 2 bottles of wine ($65 and $95, nothing was available under $50), a $7 (ha!) bottle of Pellegrino, plus tax and tip, came to $600 for 4 people. It might have been worth it as a $400 meal if the steaks had been of even middling quality; as it was, it was an insulting experience all the way around, made all the more embarrassing by how much we had talked up the greatness of Texas steaks to our friends visiting from Italy who joined us for dinner. We will definitely not be back.
Very dark and very noisy. For the price I was expecting a better tasting steak and sides. Perry's Steakhouse in uptown has this place beat.
Early Valentine’s Day dinner with old friends. Third time we have been able to surprise our wives over 35 years for Valentine’s Day. Had a great time. But my steak was over cooked compared to my wife’s - medium request. Our waiter was not as amicable as some we’ve had in the past. Sometimes a good waiter can make an evening much more fun. I did not complain about the steak. It was our friends first time there and didn’t want to distract. Wine room is always a good room. It was probably a 3 1/2 due to high expectations. The first time I went to Pappas, I was really disappointed in service. Did not go back for years. Many places to choose from in Dallas.
Everything about our visit was perfect from food to drink. Our server, Scott, was absolutely terrific!! His food and wine recommendations were spot on. Simon, sommelier, knows it all. Meet manager, Nate, and he was very kind too. I can not speak highly enough about Pappa Bros!
It was exactly what we needed. Amazing time with great friends, wonderful food and wine.
Always an excellent choice. Been many times. Try something different
