Took my wife for are anniversary and was promised white rose pedals on The table and etc. long story short I was very disappointed with the overall experience after reading all the positive reviews slow service and waiter was not quick with drinks and food.
Henry was outstanding! We celebrated Howard’s Birthday and it was awesome
Our $180.00 per person meal (with tip) was disappointing. This place is haute pretentious. The wine list is the size of an-old fashioned encyclopedia. They should present separate volumes for those willing to pay more than $1,000 per bottle, and another volume for wines that are only marked up 5-fold. The "16 oz" bone-in strip steak was perfectly cooked, but it couldn't have been more than 12 ounces with the bone. It was about one inch thick. The Caesar salad and baked potato were standard. The service was prompt and the sommelier gave only a slight sneer when we chose the $80 wine that is available for $17.95 at Costco.
Business dinner. The waiter was good and was sensitive to the business discussion taking place at the table. The timing of the different courses was good and the overall experience was excellent.
Great service, atmosphere and food. I will definitely be back soon. My favorite steakhouse.
Great steaks and fantastic atmosphere for a business dinner or special occasion. Highly recommend!
The service was impeccable! Scott did an excellent job of making us feel welcome. As I have said before, there is no other restaurant that serves a better ribeye! To top it off, the Key Lime Pie was fantastic!
Steak wasn’t cooked properly, kinda weird for a high class steak house. Salad was a Caesar, it was for my guest, was told it was “mayonnaisey.” Atmosphere was great and vibes were cool. Had a delightful time and enjoyed myself. My favorite item was the cookie that came with my espresso. Might try another time, but this time if I wasn’t happy with food product I would ask politely to try something else. I was with guests so I just enjoyed myself without worrying about my meal experience.
Our first server was quite the drill Sargent and rushed us through our order and our wine selection questions. We were in a big party area and he was much more concerned about the parties around us and wanted to rush us through our evening. It was our wedding anniversary and quite disappointing. We did ask to move and we were moved into the room with the fire place. That experience was wonderful and will bring us back. Our second server from the even Samantha was amazing. She had other wine suggestions for us, took an interest is what our likes and dislikes were and we had an amazing finish to our meal. She turned our whole experience around and we will be requesting her on our future visits. Treat that one well because she was amazing!
Great service great food
Thank you so much
IT'S OVERPRICED AND UNDER VALUE.
Noisy atmosphere . Table was not ready when we arrived .Waiter handling to many tables.
Nothing special about this place . lots of better steak houses.
Excellent food. Very expensive, but that is to be somewhat expected. The wine may have had the most envelope-pushing markup. But our waiter was great, the restaurant was amazing and the food was even better! Some of the best food I've ever had, truly. Just awesome.
Steak was just ok! Normally it’s on point.
The food was excellent, thank you Pappas for being consistently great!
Great atmosphere for a date night and one of the best steaks I've had.
Fabulous! Amazing service and food. We will be back soon!
Recommendation from extensive wine list was a gem. Prime ribeye was incredibly flavorful. Au gratin potatoes were rich and delicious. Chocolate turtle pie and chocolate marshmallow mousse were so indulgent. Service was friendly and professional.
Its arguably the best steakhouse in Texas, and by default, probably the world. They do everything really really well and deserve all the accolades they get. But make no mistake, its "a steakhouse" on all levels. Tons of older guys who are in Dallas for conventions, etc. The wine list rivals any in Texas, but frankly, its way too big. I love great wines and I am knowledgeable. But it takes me 30+ minutes to really peruse the list - something that delays getting the wine and delaying food orders. If you go, I strongly encourage you to peruse the wine list a day or two in advance and make your choice so that you can order upon being seated.
both of us were nondrinkers this evening. difficult to have a steak without a bold red
we begin with crab cakes: delicious. I chose my favorite: a peppercorn steak which was perfect. unfortunately the skillet potatoes were very disappointing. dessert was a simple lemon sorbet: my choice
final score: probably 88/100.
Our Wait server Amanda was incredible best service ever
Our server was Casey and she was excellent and a true professional. The duo filet was amazing with the lump crab and the port wine reduction with shitake mushroom sauce...wow. The service from the entire wait staff and the manger was excellent we had a glass of wine spill at the table and they reset the table in 3 minutes it was quite a well rehearsed show that rivals an Indy pit crew. This is of the best restaurants that I visit and I dine all over the country. The wine list is amazing even if you are drinking wine by the glass. For the Bourbon drinkers they have an amazing selection that includes Weller 12 and all of the Pappy's...Wow.
We live in Ohio and this was the restaurant my husband wanted for his birthday dinner. Mandy and Alberto provided warm, excellent service! The A5 Wagu was a spectacular meal! We look forward to our next visit!
Our waiter was exceptional
Great place for wonderful steaks. The service was outstanding and the wine list is one of the most comprehensive I have seen in a while. Thumbs up!
Great meal celebrating my son's 21st birthday. Tiffany was excellent!
Service, ambiance, available wine and drinks are all outstanding. The two steaks we had (bone in ribeye, porterhouse) were good, but not outstanding. We had eaten at Town Hearth a few weeks before, and both of us preferred our steak from there. I've also had an on-par steak from Saltgrass, which is substantially cheaper.
Steak is incredibly subjective, and we definitely enjoyed our time there, but if we had to define Papa's with two questions; Was the meal worth $350? - and - Does it deserve to be the #1 rated steak restaurant in Dallas - the answer the both is no.
Best meal I’ve ever had. I was expecting to have some nice steaks, but what I got was an out of this world experience. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in town.
We go for every special occasion now because they are so accommodating and the food is delicious! Chef specials of the day are almost a must to try.
The food was amazing. The only thing I can criticize is that we were the first reservation of the night and they seated us staring at the kitchen. We were looking forward to a great date night and most of the night I was staring at the kitchen watching them make pastries. The food was amazing but the seating should have been saved for someone that didn't make reservations two weeks in advance. We were at the dallas location. The waiter was excellent, Just wanted a better table.
Went here for Valentine's dinner. The front of the restaurant was pretty loud, so I was glad we were sat in the back where it was quiet. The food was excellent, although our server forgot to put our appetizer order in (probably didn't need it anyway). I had a 114 oz pepper steak, my wife had the 10 filet. Both were cooked precisely to order. The sides of asparagus and crab mac and cheese were great!! Service was excellent. Prices are around $100 per person, so be prepared for that.
They overcooked my steak to start which to me was fine. Wade our server made it up to us in a huge way by bringing some Port for the desert and then a manager and bar manager got involved and brought us a flight tasting of bourbons. My wife and I have never been treated so wonderfully as this team and the communication of all members was amazing. The steak was amazing as well as they even brought us an uncooked steak to take home to make up for the well done original. Highly recommend and kudos to the entire team for going way above and beyond to make my wife and I experience a once in a lifetime experience.
The dinner and service was top notch. One the best New York strips I've ever had. The noise level on the other hand was way above what I expected. I could barely hear my girlfriend talk which is not usually a problem with her. Our table was too close to the kitchen/staff area. I recommend reserving a table towards the front of the restaurant.
Alex was phenomenal! Most waiters/waitress are like robots, because it's a job that is performed day in and day out. Not Alex, he was very attentive and his energy was extremely warm. Even the person who brought out my steak, took pride and making sure it was prepared to my liking. He seen the look on my face and knew right away I wasn't please, kudos to you sir! Alex, made sure he called me and my mom by our names and his signature drink wasn't so bad either. This was my mom first experience at your restaurant and she was impressed...I think the New York Cheesecake sealed the deal.
Even though I made a reservation, my party of two still had to wait thirty minutes. This defeats the purpose of making a reservation, there is an expectation to be seated upon arrival within 5-10 minutes, give or take. If you do not arrive in a timely fashion to your reservation, you will get bumped.
Turtle gumbo was wonderful. Best ribeye ever. Would definite return for dinner.
Best steakhouse in Dallas and surrounding areas. 5* service and food.
This is hands down THE best steak. Just delicious. Sides were great as well. Had lobster mac n cheese and creamed spinach. Dessert was chocolate cake - just divine. Service impeccable. The did not let us down for our Valentine's dinner.
Busy night. We sat by the kitchen. I was not blow away by the steak. Sides nice and big
