We were very disappointed. Old atmosphere. Meals not worth. We know better places and nicer for same prices. Not again

I’ve been here many times and this was by far the worst experience. We came with a large party and were basically ignored – the food was cold and it just wasn’t a good experience unfortunately. Service was was not great but the hostess was lovely.

Made a reservation for six people @5:00 PM far in advance. Received a call at 3:30 to confirm and was told the dinning room was closed and we were being put up in the bar. When we arrived our reserved table had been given to someone else. We were crammed into small round table. I also noticed today that I was over charged on my bill. Been here many times. This was a poor experience.

We planned to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and Saks 5th Ave windows and wanted to find a place to stop for dinner. We looked for a spot a few blocks away as not to get trapped with 'tourist prices" in the heart of Rockefeller Center. Papillon fit the bill perfectly. The place was very charming and it was decorated really cute for Christmas. The building has a lot of character. We ordered a Caesar Salad (very nice) as an appy. He had the sauted Shrimp, I had the spaghetti carbonara. We enjoyed our meals and the pricing was very reasonable for NYC. it was a bit too loud when we were there - as there was a private party close by to where we were seated. That said that December in NYC. I would go back to try again when the area isn't overrun with tourist and holiday parties. Would recommend.

Since the service was so dismal, I tend to think that the manager had a sick day. People waited and waited to order their meal or for their food to come. Once it came, the food was okay (mediocre). The place was pretty and well-located. I felt so sorry for the two young mothers with their fussy, hungry toddlers, who waited for 50 minutes for their food to arrive. The toddlers weren't that good at waiting. The staff (only seen occasionally) acted like they had no idea what was going on . I won't be returning, unfortunately.

This is a great restaurant to visit during the holiday season - the decorations are the best! Staff are friendly (if not a little hurried during a busy session) and the food is good. I took a friend here for dinner before attending Radio City - perfect location. We ordered the mussels (excellent), the beet salad (also pretty good) and the steak tartar (just ok, a little flavourless) to share.
Took a little while to get the check, and they brought us the wrong one at first, but certainly wasn't a significant issue. Would recommend as a solid choice in midtown.

Went here for lunch. We were a little underwhelmed by the salads we ordered. Chicken ceasar and seared-tuned. Both were low on flavor.

I made reservations and was seated right away. The waiter was very attentive and helpful. The food came quickly and we were able to sit and chat for a little while. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends.

The waiter was terrible. He was inattentive. After 20 minutes waiting for coffee, I asked him when it would come. He said when it’s done and we only have one machine. Ridiculous. Don’t bring clients unless you don’t like them.

Tremendously disappointing. I have seen this place hoping all work-week long and always wanting to try it when it was less busy, so went in for Sunday brunch. Food was served cold and waitress did not seem to be able to keep up with 5 tables of 2 - 3 apiece. A little business advice: Don't let young adults run your business without a little senior over-sight. Exorbitant price for wine-by-the-glass. Would not recommend going in for anything other than a beer after work - good selection there.

Asked for more time once at the start and was immediately put on the server’s back burner for the rest of lunch. Other than that, everything was fine. Upstairs dining room is preferable for business - less noise.

Amazing place! The food is good, but the real reason I come is for the opera nights on Saturdays. Live opera singing - an incredible and memorable experience.

From the outside everything looks attractive. Inside the decor is nice, but there is a musty smell and everything looks dirty and feels sticky. We were seated in a dark corner with only 2 other people in this very large restaurant. That should of been a hint to leave, but there are not many other places near where we were staying to eat. Food was ok, but I would likely not go back unless I could get a sidewalk table.

We dined at an off hour on Sunday evening and it was delightfully quiet. Everyone was happy with their salad entrees and I loved the watermelon mule cocktail. I'll be back just for that.

The bar scene in the evenings is pretty active with business types. We had lunch this time. The food was very good. The service was excellent. We were not rushed at all but felt the staff was super friendly and attentive. We ate upstairs.

The place, with original Soviet times emigré Russian lady pianist, mustachioed Italian with the welcoming manners of a 1910s cavalry officer and entertaining operatic duets, is quite fun and so are the nubile young ladies and cosmopolitan men about town. The menu, with overcooked rice and only a limited choice, is as (un)exciting as the one served at the United Nations' delegates lounge or at an English Public School, but the ambience is far better. The dining area could use a spot of fresh paint, but is comfortable and not exceedingly noisy, and the wine list (this being New York) is not too outrageously prices. Overall, an amusing place. Service is generally included. Expect a total bill of approximately $ 350 for four with 2 bottles of good Argentinian wine.

awful. won't go back anytime soon. soon as we walked in the smell of disinfectant hit us like a sledgehammer and it never dissipated. After being seated it took 15 minutes before we got any water. 20 minutes after that our food arrived. For a restaurant that caters to a lunchtime business crowd the entire experience was unacceptable
