Papa Razzi - Wellesley Ratings and Reviews
Awful! It's the "China Buffet" of Italian chain restaurants. This was our second try in ten years. The first time there was a mouse running around, so we left. We decided to try it again, they were late sitting us, it was noisy, loud, smelled like restroom, etc. We just left.
Have been a member and fan of PR for years. I have seen the decline and our dinner Saturday was pretty awful.
Bisteca steak was over cooked & Brussel sprouts were hard as golf balls. Veal scalloping was great but potatoes were all over cooked and burnt. Their stand by pasta w sausage is always good.
Will be a while before returning. Dinner for four was $280 (with tip) I expect a whole lot more!
Took unusually long to be acknowledged by the waitstaff, approx. 15 minutes. The Pollo Scallopini arrived with barely any sauce on it, maybe a tablespoon at best. We requested some additional sauce, which did arrived quickly. Unfortunately it was too bitter to use.
As someone with Celiac disease, it can be difficult to eat out safely, but Papa Razzi in Wellesley takes food allergies very seriously. The wait staff is educated, the gluten free menu has several options, and the food was delicious. We can go there for a meal at any time, and I know they are going to properly prepare with food allergen safety taken into account, and we'll get great service from the wait staff. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Got together with friends for my birthday for brunch. Food and ambiance was perfect. But all of that pales in comparison to the friendly and very attentive service provided by our server: Dustin. He is an asset to Papa Razzi and made our brunch experience beyond outstanding.
We love this restaurant and often go out on the weekends with teen daughters. When we arrived this night, our table was not ready at the reserved time, highly unusual. We stood at the hostess stand for 15 minutes (20 since we arrived early). Apparently a very large group had created a bit of a time crunch. Anyway, the GM was manning the hostess stand, and he was incredibly polite and polished. What I appreciated was the way he comp'ed our first drinks as an apology. So instead of frustration, we feel more loyalty - just to be acknowledged in that way. Well done!
We waited an intolerably long time for our meal, over 45 minutes, without explanation from our server, who seemed content to mutter his own dissatisfaction with the kitchen but did nothing to assuage ours. They comped the meal in the end but the lack of attentiveness and explanation was disappointing.
Well, I’m glad you asked. Despite having a 730 reservation, we were promptly sat well after 8... at a table behind the bar that sat open the entire time we waited. The host was overwhelmed, when I checked in on our table around 8 he said “thank you we have a few tables ahead of you thank you.” Love the food - but it’s super disorganized.
Had a great time with a few friends. Stepped out of my comfort zone and ordered the nightly special. Was rewarded with the ultimate comfort food. Short Ribs so tender yet so flavorful. Served over polenta that was like velvet on the palate!! Fantastic all the way around!!
Not worth it. Too crowded, unimaginative menu, average-size servings, high noise level. A basic Italian pasta dish shouldn't cost close to $20! If I pay that much, I expect the rest of the experience to be perfect to justify the prices.
Very good veal Parmesan with Angel hair on Mangia Monday which has special pricing.
Focaccia bread seems to taste better and is a bigger portion.
Faith was a very attentive server and the Mgr came over to make sure we were enjoying everything.
We'll be back soon!
