This is my first time back in quite sometime. I was exceptionally impressed with the attentiveness of the service. The menu selections are really good and the food when served was hot and attractive.

Papa Razzi in Wellesley was a neighborhood gem - excellent Italian food which rivaled the North End for years in a comfortable atmosphere. Over the past two years, however, this location changed its menu and, with it, the quality of its food has taken a nose dive. Selections are often peppered to the point where the meal borders on the inedible. Other offerings lack the quality which my family came to expect. Sad to see such a terrific local institution hit bad times!

Overall Papa Razzi is consistently ok Italian food however it is not the greatest and never will be for a few reasons. First off, this location sits in Wellesley Falls area of downtown Wellesley off Route 9 and is tucked away to the right near the river, hardly noticeable and is quite a large location. Place was very crowded since it was Saturday, parking lot is very large and interior here is decorated quite nice with cool light fixtures etc. The entrance and hostess station here is an odd setup which leaves very little room for waiting patrons and is adjacent to the seating so cold drafts enter the dining room and tables are set up in the walking path of patrons entering. Thought that was strange.
The service here started off slow but picked up quite a bit and the two managers visible in the dining room checked in on us on two occasions which was decent. Menu here is standard selection of Italian dishes, standard appetizers and entrees. Extensive wine and cocktail lists and even a small menu for the kids. We started out with fried mozzarella which was delicious and opted for the Veal Scallopini and Filet. Food was served timely, waitstaff here was ok, our server could of been a tad bit friendlier and was all business but it was fine. Entrees came out hot, servings were a bit skimpy and biting into the red potatoes which were overcooked and the very limp broccoli and then taking a bite of the small piece of veal scallopini I was not overly impressed, it was just ok, a bit overcooked and tough and I was a bit surprised that this was the same food as the delicious fried mozzarella we just finished. Filet was just average as well which I was surprised at and it had areas of tough pieces. Dessert was served as brownie sundae with gelato and it was equally not that great, very hard brownie and sauces that tasted like they were from a jar. In all the meal was just average and there is probably a reason you don't see too many of these chain locations open anymore.

Tables were too close to other tables, which caused a lot of bumping into our chairs when people tried to pass by. Waiter did not check back to the table enough.

It was a 5 star evening for us. The food, drinks, atmosphere were all upscale! We had the citrus scallops and the veal chop (all were amazing!). We can't wait to go back and try other entrees. Oh, and our waitress was very attentive, amazing for a packed house.

Great experience, I came here for a Valentine’s Day dinner and it was fantastic. The staff worked quickly and were very professional, the food and drinks were delicious, and there was a very happy atmosphere. On top of everything, the general manager went out of his way to help us when we forgot our food at the table. I will definitely be going back again soon!

Had an 8:30 reservation and checked in at 8:20. Waited until 8:50 and then asked how much long we would be waiting. They had messed up and never checked us in and sat many people that came in after us. What’s the point in making a reservation then??
Sorry there were any issues. We have discussed the situation with our team in hopes we can do better in the future. We are normally very efficient at holding reservations and always do our best to make our guests feel welcomed and appreciated. While sometimes things will delay reservations, we always do our best to keep our guests informed and we are sorry that we missed the mark. We hope you will see better results on your next visit.
Papa Razzi in Wellesley is one of our favorites. We find it to be a consistently pleasant dining experience. The bar area is inviting. Tables in the dining room are adequately spaced and not crowded together allowing for private conversation. The menu is varied; prices are reasonable. Salads are large enough to share ( and they split them in the kitchen). Fresh, warm bread and bread sticks are offered prior to the meal. The food is delicious, portions are large and nicely presented ( I always have leftovers to take home). Wait staff is friendly, professional and efficient.

Atlantic salmon was very good, brussel sprouts had an odd taste—my husband found them unedable. Very good service.

We had a less than sparkling experience on Saturday night. Starting with the wait of over 20 minutes to be seated. Our server was courteous and seemed efficient. I was taken aback when my husband wanted to order the chopped salad without chickpeas and our server said that the kitchen couldn't do that because the salad was mixed in the morning. I then asked if there were any vegan entrees and told no. 98% of the time, a suggestion would be made to accommodate a special diet. I went on to order the gnocchi with tomato sauce only and broccolini. The gnocchi arrived with cheese as it appears on the menu. It had to go back. Of course, by the time my entree got to my done the way I ordered it, my husband was done with his dinner. No apology or concession was offered for our botched dinner experience.

Food was undistinguished. The special chicken w bow ties arrived w ziti. The chicken reminded one of near east spices. The sauce base was watery and most un-Italian.

Everything was very good except toward the end of our dinner around 9 pm, the servers were sweeping the floor around us and all the other tables, very noisy and disturbing.

Haven't been here since the remodel. Of the dozen or so times that I've visited this location over the years, this was the best. The food was outstanding and better than I remember, we had an excellent waiter, the place was alive and buzzing with happy diners. I love the "free" valet parking. The wine list also was better than remember. We will be back.
