Papa Razzi - Boston Ratings and Reviews
We had dinner at Papa Razzi for Valentine's day. The atmosphere was warm and vibrant, the food was great, and so was the service. There was a mix up where the waiter gave me a $26 glass of wine when I'd tried to order a $9 one, but they just charged me for the one I thought I'd ordered, no questions asked. I would definitely go back!
Food and service were very good overall. Our server was very nice and friendly, although we had to ask for napkins and bread, instead of it being automatic. In any event, cramming a middle-aged couple out on a date-night in a corner seat, shared with a large group of 8 with young children was a bad idea. Noisy and not the romantic date night experience we were looking for. Every time one of the kids got up to use the bathroom they had to slide out on our side of the long cushion seat that we shared with the group. It was very Applebee's-ish. The poor seating choice took away from the experience.
We celebrated our nephew’s 65th birthday at Papa Razzi on Newbury Street, and had a wonderful time. The menu is varied, and we all relished our choices. Luckily for us the restaurant was not very crowded when we were there, which made conversation easy to hear. I am going to try the other locations and am eager to see how they compare.
Food and ambiance were great. Server didn't know the menu well and couldn't help us with many of the questions we had. Kinda hard to pitch me on food from the menu when you can't butcher the pronunciation of it.
We came for a special occasion and I left simple, yet clear instructions when I booked my reservation. I talked with the manager about it after and they "just missed it". Didn't apologize or offer to make it right, which was a bummer.
Great food, meh experience.
We waited 15 minutes before our server knew we were there. It was an understandable mistake but she was very casual and did not apologize. We were trying to make a concert and had to be a bit pushy to get her keep us on time even though there were very few other customers. On the other hand, the chef was extremely accommodating of food sensitivities and the food was excellent. I will definitely try it again despite the initial service.
The waitress did not get our special request right, but since it was a special request, I don't hold that against her. However, she asked if everything was perfect before we realized that, then she didn't come back so she was a little over eager for her own review.
We went on New Years Eve and not only was the food absolutely amazing, the drinks were outstanding as well. The service was quick and extremely helpful. Despite our level of inebriation I can assuredly recommend this restaurant to everyone. It was reasonably priced for level of food we received! Everything was just delightful.
The occasion for dinner was my birthday celebration. We made the reservation for 7:30. We arrived on time and were seated. Drinks and dinner were fine. When we were ready to order dessert(remember, birthday celebration), our waiter informed us that the kitchen was closed and we would not be able to order an desserts.
So I ask, why weren’t we told this about early closing of the kitchen when we were seated? It seemed other tables were still getting their desserts because I guess, they had preordered their desserts.
This restaurant is off my future list.
Pappa Razzi on Newbury Street consistently provides a wonderful experience. Very welcoming, great service and the food is always excellent. As suburbanites, we come into town - to the Back Bay - four or five times a year and consider other options, just for a change. In the end, though, we return to Pappa Razzi because we know we will have a relaxed, delicious meal in a warm and friendly environment. We have also found that Pappa Razzi is a great spot for a large group - the servers are well able to cheerfully attend to a celebration, and even make it more fun!
We had a wonderful family experience at Paparazzi. The service was stellar and everyone was pleasant and welcoming even though the place was packed! We asked the staff to help deliver a special holiday message to our son and they jumped right in with the surprise. Highly recommend the food as well. We sat close to the window into the kitchen and it was clean and humming along. Overall a five star experience.
Went there for dinner with my sister. The wait staff seated us within a few minutes of our reservation. The restaurant was packed. The waitstaff was friendly and the ambiance was nice. The food was okay. Nothing stellar. It had a decent menu but the food we got lacked the flavor I was used to. For the money, I wouldn’t go back, there are much better choices in the area.
Papa Razzi is one of my favorite eateries on Newbury Street. Classy yet affordable, this restaurant has a modern Italian menu that rivals some of the most notable restaurants in Boston's North End. The atmosphere is great for a casual conversation while the wait staff is friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend Papa Razzi for everyday dining as well as special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries.
