Able to eat outside with our group of 5 Each enjoyed their entree - very friendly and efficient staff
Nice to see more "plant based" and vegetarian choices....
The service was extremely nice and food came out pretty quick. Our pasta and salmon were delicious
Excellent service and delicious pasta, salad and chicken.
Pasta was delicious, as expected! Desserts were also yummy, except the apple crisp wasn't the best.
The food was all store bought and basic. I was under the impression it would be more of a housemade style. Not necessarily bad food but food anyone could make in there kitchen.
Went to Papa Razzi the night before running the Marathon. Both the food and service were excellent and they had the perfect options and portions for carb-ing up before the big day!
Last pre-race meal before Boston Marathon. It didn't disappoint. Busy day but service was very good. Neat place, would like to visit when weather is nicer to possibly sit outside.
Great reasonably price food and kid friendly!
Boston Marathon pre race meal.
Too noisy, average food, poor service. When we arrived they told us our table would be 20 min late from the time reserved
Ordinary food, ordinary service, not a place I would care to visit again.
Gluten free margherita pizza and chicken piccata. Delicious! We sat upstairs where most of the seating is. It’s a little noisy and our waitress seemed rushed but two other staff members came over and checked on us and made conversation.
We booked a lunchtime reservation, arrived a few minutes early and were seated immediately. The host and servers that we talked to were all extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the restaurant. Our server happened to be new and in training at the time, which we wouldn’t have known if a veteran server hadn’t followed up to check that our table was taken care of.
Their wine list is “quality over quantity”, and we were easily able to fine great wines that paired with our dishes. Some of the bottles we recognized as award-winning and were nicely priced...if we’d had more time we would have ordered a bottle!
We ordered the calamari, which was delicately crispy and hot, as well as the gnocchi which were so tender and comforting.
The prices are a bit high for “everyday” but for a nice lunch out, or a date night they’re not bad at all.
Our waiter was not the best. The other waiters seemed more attentive to their tables. Food was okay, a bit salty though.
We had a meal at Papa Razzi on the Friday night of the Marathon weekend, the food was excellent but we were disappointed with the service.
Once we raised our concerns to the manager they did everything they could to improve the situation. We believe our experience was unusual and will definitely go back next time we are in Boston.
The service was bad . Waitress in a bad mood.
The meal and wine were great! Our waitress Samantha was the best part of the night. Funny, friendly and confident about the wine and food. Thoroughly enjoyed it all! Thanks Samantha!
Usually we head over to the North End for Italian, but decided to stay in Back Bay and try Papa Razzi instead. We were very impressed. Our reserved table was ready on arrival. The waiter, Greg, was excellent. Very professional and knowledgeable about the food and wine menus. Very attentive. He helped us choose the Beef Carpaccio for appetizer - what a great recommendation - we loved it. For main dishes, my son chose the rigatoni and I had the Vitello Piccata - both were excellent. We will definitely return here again and will recommend to friends.
Amazing service and food. We had dinner...The veal ossobuco with saffron risotto was a huge hit with my friends! 3/5 ordered the special. I had a bite to try it and is was delicious. They should make this special part of the regular menu :)
We live in Philly and always make a point of having dinner at Papa Razzi when we are in Boston. The food is very good and the service is very good.
Always loved Papa Razzi . Good ambiance, wine and meals. Food list is extensive and the service is always nice.
Great place, great food! What else would you need?!
I have found the food at Papa Razzi to always be reliably good. The Back Bay location is very busy so make a reservation if you can.
Very busy, lots of people waiting to be seated. Arrived 5 min late for a 7:30 reservation, not seated until almost 8pm.
Birthday celebration for my young daughter, although I had notified the restaurant in advance they did not acknowledge the occasion. Service slow, has to flag down a staff member to eventually order drinks. Food mediocre at best. Bland! Found a hair in our appetizer, they did comp this and a dessert. Manager came by with not a very heartfelt apology.
Overall busy atmosphere, lively bar scene but dissapointing service and food!
We were in town for business and so I recommended we go to Papa Razzi as I had dined several times before at the old location. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing this time around. The hostess was rude and unwelcoming. It took 20 mins to get my beer & I received no apologies from our waitress. We had to constantly remind her to also get water...and the list goes on. I hope the restaurant considers this feedback as Papa Razzi used to be a go-to favorite. I'd love to come back if service improves.
Great server. Great food with excellent presentation. It felt like the class of a forgotten era modernized for today. Loved it.
Delicious Italian food and great service. The portions are not terribly large, so don't be afraid to get a Secondi as well!
Had an amazing experience at papa Razzi! They were so knowledgeable on gluten free options- and even had GF bread to start! It was restaurant week so for an amazing deal I got a gf pizza and gf pasta plate for $25!
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant as the food and drinks were too good to pass up. My 3 friends and I all ordered the stuffed gnocchi, spare rib, and pistachio cake which we each to die for (especially the gnocchi). The cocktails were fantastic, I recommend the blood orange martini for a light fruity cocktail.
A few points were disappointing. We made a 7 pm reservation and showed up exactly on time, yet still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Whats the point of a reservation if you're going to have to wait for a half hour anyway? It was definitely on the loud side, but that could be just because we came during peak hours. The staff were professional but acted very cold towards us as if we were annoying them whenever we spoke to them. Luckily we were still able to enjoy our dinner and have a wonderful evening. But I would recommend going on an off hour, maybe you'll actually be seated when it's your reservation time, and the staff wont be rude.
Great pasta dishes.
Veal with espárragos risotto was ok in flavor but presentation was not the best.
Good service even though it was crowded.
Overall great experience.
No one would look up when we arrived and when we politely said excuse me to get her attention, she never looked up (kept looking at the computer screen). Then we waited 15 minutes for our reservation. Service slow and inattentive, pasta swimming in oil/butter, and server called our 55 year old matron by her first name when she brought the check. Ma’am, Miss or Ms. + last name is how you address customers, especially those you’ve never met before, as in this case. The employees at this restaurant need to be trained in how to treat customers with respect.
Food was good except the pizza. I ordered extra cheese but it was pretty skimpy.
Wonderful service from the beginning to the end! The family all tried different dishes and all of our special request were met with outstanding quality and delicious dishes. Will definitely go back to visit next time we are in Boston.
My food was excellent!!
The food and waitstaff was fantastic but the hostess was incredibly rude and unapologetic for our 20 min wait past our reservation time. Seemed very overbooked. What’s the point of making a reservation?
This was my first time out to dinner with my girlfriend. I was prepared to spend some money. Was actually surprised at how inexpensive the food was. Had a blast! Food was good!
I took my grandson out to dinner. Looking around I saw all different types of people. It is a really pretty place. We had a very nice time.
Little loud but was great date night. Food was delicious and wine options were as well
Wonderful dinner, great service, great location, good for large parties.
