About Paolo's Italian Restaurant
For more than 20 years, Paolo’s has been bringing the taste of Italy to Kent. Paul Raftis founded the restaurant after growing up learning to cook along side his mother, Darlene Raftis. He enjoys the open kitchen he can chat with guests as he works. He never tires of hearing "It smells so good in here!" As a marathoner, he is living proof that that you can eat Italian and be healthy. In fact, one of his signature dishes, "Fettucine Paolo" was featured in Runner's World magazine. "It's one of the dishes I developed, it has no cream in it, no butter." It's a delicious pasta dish that utilizes olive oil, garlic, chicken stock, garlic, balsamic vinegar, sundried tomatoes, artichokes, and chicken. So whether it's bruschetta, cioppino, pizza, or spaghetti and meatballs, Paul thanks each of you for choosing to dine here.

Paolo's Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
For birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions our restaurant choice is almost always Paolo's. Sometimes we have discount offers for birthdays, so we go get the discount one night and then also go to Paulo's. We always enjoy it so much. This time it was Valentine's Day, with a special menu, and a violin player. Paolo's was packed. We chose an earlier reservation, 5:30, to get in ahead of the crowd.
We have been to Paolo's several times and we particularly enjoy special occasions such as Valentine's Day. Paolo usually has a special menu for these occasions and never fails to create something special. The lamb chops were spectacular and the roasted veggies are always wonderful. The live music for Valentine's Day was a nice touch.
My daughter and I took part in the special Valentines event with a live violinist. The food was exquisite and it's presentation very artful. There were great choices offered and the value was high. We enjoyed ourselves so much. Between the food, the entertainment, the decor and the fact that the noise level allowed us to still hold a conversation...it was a fabulous evening. I hope they keep doing this.
I always enjoy the atmosphere at Paolo's. The chef does a fabulous job at pulling the flavors together. This is one of the few restaurants that I am able to get my wife out of her comfort zone and try new things. Too many favorites to list but a couple of our real treats are the pear ravioli and the chefs signature barley soup.
Not a big hoopdy doo on your birthday. Just good for a nice dinner with friends. Just a nice place overall. Beautiful and confortable. Good food. We have several options we like. Nice dessert tray. Able to watch them cooking behind the counter or sit at the counter to dine.
Having re-read the restaurant website information, I realized that I had originally frequented Paolo's for lunch in the early 1990s soon after the restaurant opened in 1989. I had not since had an opportunity to return in the past decade or more, but the quality of the food remained as superb as I remembered. Fettucini Paolo prepared with grilled chicken, artichokes, red peppers and sundried tomatoes in olive oil, balsamic vinegar and basil was very tasty. My friends enjoyed the house-made lasagna and the grilled pesto chicken sandwich. We opted for the smaller portion size and price for all the lunch items but finished every bite. In retrospect, I would have been happy paying for the full portion to have some to take home to eat again later!
Have been here many times and service is always good but this time Waitress forgot to bring the salad I ordered. First time this has happened ever so no big deal. Can't wait until I return from deployment so I can get back to Wed evening dinners and take advantage of cooking classes.
You'll have to read his story and you'll know why the food is good. Great for casual or totally dressed up. Can be quiet or a little louder depends on the diners. Everything is perfect for us. Not a large place so not a good place for boisterous people. Love the dessert selections too. Good food menu but we usually stick to one or two entrees. Everyone is nice and professional. Nice being able to watch the cooking behind the counter if you want. Not a distraction either.
The food overall was excellent.
The server was attentive and very good in taking our order and serving it to us at one time while the food was hot.
It was end of shift for the server and the only complaint we had was that we were not asked if anyone would like a desert.
The guys ordered the lasagna, and they loved it. I had the combo seafood pasta. Three scallops, (gritty) and the crab and salmon were just little shreds. Could really taste it. Overall, great place with awesome customer service. I’ll try something else on the menu next time.
Perfectly acceptable. We brought our own wine which made it a good value. They had a well thought out gluten free menu. Nice. The chicken Gorgonzola was tasty but the chicken was dry and rubbery ( for the second time.) The after 8 pm four courses for $21.00 is a very good value. We will return and try different dishes. A fine dining kind of place but a much better price. Go at 8 pm. And bring your own wine.
Clean and friendly. Had a very nice fun and knowledgable waitress who made the visit. I had the cioppino, which was a bit expensive but ultimately exactly right for a rainy November afternoon. My dining partner had a lovely butternut squash soup and a caesar. Once again...just right.
